Anyone who tuned in to the MSM in the last couple days has probably seen the story about the 3 kids in Florida that beat a homeless guy to death. It’s a mildly interesting story, made more so by some security video of the act, but I can’t help but think it’s getting more coverage than it should because of the racial dynamic involved - white kids viciously beat black guy. TV news hasn’t hesitated to plaster mugshots of the kids (including the one under 18) on the screen.

It’s news, surely. But national news? On Google News right now there are 1100 stories related to the beating. By comparison, there are 450 related to oil prices being at a 3 month high, 500 related to the condition of hospitalized former President Ford, 550 related to the supreme court upholding Oregon’s euthanasia law, and 750 related to the Alito hearings. I can’t help but think that if the racial situation were different this would just be a local story.

Every now and then some lowlife scum assault homeless men for kicks, but the following crime is much more sensationalistic, yet has received little coverage because the criminal is black. 

13-year-old black could get life for rape

ST. LOUIS, MO, United States (UPI)—A 13-year-old in St. Louis has been charged with three felonies that could lead to three consecutive life sentences if he is convicted.

Sherman Burnett Jr. allegedly assaulted physically and sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl and then left her in a wooded area where she was found 11 hours after her family reported her missing, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

After a judge ruled Wednesday that Burnett could be tried as an adult, he was formally charged with child kidnapping, forcible sodomy and first-degree assault.

A corrections official said Burnett is the youngest inmate he can remember in the county jail in 30 years. He will be held in the infirmary pending an evaluation.

At Wednesday`s hearing, a psychologist testified that Burnett was medicated for attention deficit disorder while he was in juvenile detention.

Burnett also faces misdemeanor charges stemming from an unrelated incident. He allegedly offered an 11-year-old girl $50 for sex and then knocked her brother down.

My dream job would be at an NGO devoted to pinning down this issue once and for all in a comprehensive, systematic way.
