Distance Learning 2

Are you interested in challenging college courses for credit, obtaining credit through CLEP examinations, acquiring supplementary learning material for classes, or professional improvement?  Do you have the self-discipline and personal motivation necessary to learn independently?  Are you interested in acquiring the material needed to develop and implement a home school or a microcommunity –based schools curriculum?  Do you dream of the day when White homeschoolers and microcommunities throughout the world productively collaborate in the development of curricula for our children, teens, and young adults? If so, then open courseware on the Internet may be something to consider.

Distance Learning

For working- and lower middle-class Whites distance learning may be another way to lower the cost of an undergraduate education.  Many online schools are accredited by the non-profit Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).  Some are accredited by standard regional accreditation committees.  The DETC is recognized by the Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.  However, be advised that although DETC accreditation is accepted by many employers and regionally accredited undergraduate schools, others do not accept it.  Employer and academic acceptance of online learning depend upon major, industry, company, position, and geographic location. One should remember that “Old Boy” networks are everywhere – with greater penetration in some places than in others – and the bottom line among atomized, judeo-conned gentiles is always green.  In other words, many high-quality distance learning courses from DETC-accredited schools are not accepted because the “Old Boy” networks in the corporate world and academia dislike being economically bypassed by American citizens.

College Level Examination Program

Some if not most of MR’s commentariat are aware of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).  You may be surprised, however, at the number of parents and students who are completely unaware of the program.  Imagine paying or taking out a loan of $300-$1500 for a 3-5 semester hour course that your child could have tested out of for $65.  That is right: $65.00.  In my opinion the examinations are not difficult. Twenty-seven years ago I took these exams, received 48+ hours of undergraduate credit, and economically boycotted my college’s humanities courses.  If I could do this, then so can you or your children.

Take a moment to review this list of free vocational education manuals.  Back in my Marine Corps days I used the math and science books from the Department of Energy, the Bureau of Naval Personnel, the Naval Education and Training Command, and the Marine Corps Institute to prepare for the CLEP examinations.  Furthermore, I prepared for the Art section of the Humanities test by going to the public library and reading artsy fartsy books on Western and Oriental art written for sixth-graders.
