Enhorabuena España
In what must be the most one-sided single-goal victory I have ever seen - certainly at international level - Spain ended its 24-year wait for a major football trophy this evening by defeating Germany in the final of Euro 2008.
But you don’t come to MR to read the sports news. However, for other matters of interest ...
It is a decade now since football became the sport of choice for chic liberal politicos. What drew them to it, of course, was its emergence as a big-money glamour-game full of multicultural heroes for the masses. Political opportunism meets social engineering in boots.
But Euro 2008 did not treat the MultiCult kindly. The four semi-finalists were conspicuously white-majority teams - all white in the case of Germany and Russia, while Turkey and Spain fielded one black player apiece each time I saw them. It’s a world away from the heady days of les Blues, when politicians all over Europe were convincing themselves that the (on-field) exploits of non-white footballers would teach the recalcitrant natives to love diversity.
Long may it remain so.
A couple of side issues ...
I found the genuflection to anti-racism before each match, with the team captains reading-out preachy little statements to the crowd about how hard we must all work to “kick racism out”, utterly, excruciatingly embarrassing. It was surely politically clumsy, though, and must have done far more harm than good to the elites’ Sacred Cause. Even football fans - in some cases, especially football fans - are capable of finding this nonsense manipulative and sinister.
Last point ... as an Englishman forced by the fathomless mediocrity of our very multicultural national team to watch the competition as a neutral, I was cheered to see a few commenters actually grateful that they did not have to witness of all those frightful, beery and jingoistic expressions of national passion by shirtless benefit claimants from Scunthorpe. Apparently, the rest of Europe’s peoples voice their jingoism in ways far more picturesque and acceptable to liberal sensibilities. Which is proof, if ever proof were needed, that self-hatred is the most curious kind of racism.

Yes, I seen this during the semi-final and commented at the link below.

And you are correct that the harder they try, the more obvious it is. Also, did you see the signs they hung up that said “No to Racism?”
Indeed, a great day, finally. I’d just add that the Dutch team, probably the best team to be eliminated in the quarterfinals, was just about the whitest I’ve ever seen it.
Every Spanish male in the position to do so should take the opportunity to have a romp with his missus/partner/marida/novia, for effect if you know what I mean. ¡Viva España! ¡Viva Europa!

Also, during the semi-finals, when the team captains said their words about “kicking out racism” the multicuts were sure to line up some children on the field next to the players. This was no accident. The intention here was to show the Euro world that the multi-cults are now in control of their kids.

Well, since I have an aversion to being bored to death, I don’t watch “football”. So naturally I’ve never heard of this:
(I had to research for some context, you see?) Banner headline: “If you see or hear any *racism* call us on 0800 16 99 414”
Anything you say, commissar!
What the fuck? How you ever put up with grown men running around kicking a ball (_maybe_ scoring a point once a game) is one thing. But a witch hunt like that should mean an instant, continent-wide, and lifelong boycott. Watch something relatively illuminating, like cricket, or tiddlywinks, or cat-washing-ass-with-tongue.

As an American, the two golden rules of watching European soccer for me are:
1. Root against the Frogs and
2. Root against Turkey.
While Turkey may only field one black player, this is counter-balanced by the fact that Turkey is not part of Europe and thus has no business playing in the European championships.
The Wikipedia entry on the French national football team features a delightful section titled “Representing Multicultural France”.
From that entry:
When it comes to racial equality the French national team is seen as being one of the most progressive footballing teams in the world. They have introduced more and more black players to the team, setting an excellent multicultural standard for other national teams to follow. ...On the 2006 French national team, 17 of the 23 players were members of racial minorities, including many of the most prominent players.
It’s so commonplace as to be hardly worth commenting on, but I am always struck by the Orwellian nature of multiculturalist propaganda that portrays a gross overrepresentation of non-whites in a given enterprise as somehow being indicative of “racial equality.”
France’s most prominent white player, Franck Ribery, is a convert to Islam.
“Les Blues”?
Perhaps you wanted to type Les Bleus. Because if you really think Les Bleus are Les Blues, well… it would add a point of ignorance to your already racist rant.

James,
Multiculturalism is multi-racism, and it is the causal offence - we did not request race-replacement in our homeland, and we are justified in opposing it. Evidently, you are not manly enough to discharge such an obligation. No honourable man runs around squeaking “racist” every time he encounters the resistance to oppression he himself should be offering.
As for the misspelling, I will leave it, I think, as a symbol of my regard for France’s footballing diversity.
