Misleading headline

There is a misleading headline in the most recent edition of “The Times” of London. It concerns three elite British soldiers who were court martialled over their alleged killing of an Iraqi. The evidence against them consisted solely of the word of an Iraqi criminal so it would have been a travesty of justice if they had been convicted of anything. Their acquittal was headlined by “The Times” as “Military justice in the dock after acquittals”. That would probably be taken by all but the most careful reader as saying that the men should have been convicted. In fact, it seems to be intended as saying that the men should never have been put to trial in the first place—which is certainly true.
