Misology in America Part 4 - Gender

Misology is the hatred of objective knowledge gained by the scrupulous use of the scientific method when it contradicts the political goals, ideology or religious faith of the misologists.

Misologists dominate the discussion of public policies in several areas in the modern world.

In the United States misologists predominate in the media, the universities, the schools, and among the elected politicians and the clergy.

Part One presented evidence that misologists dominate the public discussion of the distribution of the general mental ability factor or IQ in various identifiable human genetic clusterings.

Part Two presented evidence that misologists dominate the public discussion of the health hazards of smoking tobacco.

Part Three documented the stranglehold misologists hold on the public discussion of homosexuality.

This essay will evaluate the evidence for the beliefs that mental ability is equally distributed among men and women and that male oppression is the sole explanation of the failure of women to succeed in many fields in proportion to their numbers.

The late Australian philosopher David Stove believed that the intellectual capacity of women was on the whole inferior to that of men. By “on the whole” he did not mean just “on the average”; though he did mean that much. He believed, “if you take any degree of intellectual capacity which is above average for the human race, as a whole, then a possessor of that degree of intellectual capacity is a good deal more likely to be man than a woman.” He wrote “that if there is a large number of women at a given above average level of intellectual capacity, then there is an even larger number of men at that level.”

In America, people who earn a bachelor’s degree and who want to progress to a master’s or doctor’s degree take a national standardized test called the Graduate Record Examination, the GRE.

Everyone agrees, I am sure, that physics is a field that requires more intelligence that knitting. People who want to become physicists take a specialized test.

An examination of the scores on the GRE physics test shows that 100% of the top 10th percentiles of GRE Physics test takers are males, 99.75% of the top 20th percentile of GRE Physics test takers are males. 99.5% of the top 30th percentile of GRE Physics test takers are males. 99.2% of the top 40 percentile of GRE Physics test takers are males. 98% of the top 50 percentile of GRE Physics test takers are males. This means that only 2% of the females who take the physics test score in the top 50% of scores.

The Scholastic Aptitude Test, the SAT, is one of two tests commonly taken by high school students who want to enter a university. The SAT organization reported the results by gender for college bound student from its 2004 tests.

Scores on the SAT range from 200 to 800. There is a mathematics section and a verbal section.

The percent of boys achieving a score in the top range for mathematics was 252% higher than the number of girls who achieved a score in the top range. The percent of boys achieving a verbal score in the top range was 116% higher than the number of girls who achieved a score in the top range.

The SAT scores were not provided within the ranges. We are not told the numbers of boys and girls who received any particular scores.

Herrnstein & Murray concluded in their famous The Bell Curve that the mean IQ is about the same for both groups, but the shapes of the respective bell curves are different. The female bell curve is more tightly grouped about the mean. When you superimpose the male and female curves, males tend to significantly outnumber females on the two extreme ends of the curve. In other words, there are more extremely smart and extremely dumb men than there are women. The farther out on the IQ curve that you go, the greater the disproportion becomes.

At has been found that for every woman with an IQ of 145 there are seven men. At the stratospheric 160 IQ level, there are thirty men for every woman.
Since 1901, women have made up four percent of the Nobel laureates in Medicine, two percent in Chemistry, and only one percent in Physics. No woman has won a Nobel in Chemistry or Physics since 1964. No woman has ever won a Nobel Prize in Economics.
A rational society would base its educational and social policies upon an accurate assessment of reality; a society dominated by misologists does the opposite.
Schools ought to be places where boys and girls would find encouragement to cultivate their talents while respecting and making sensible allowances for their individual and gender based differences.
What is the reality?
“Boyish” behavior is punished. For every girl forced to take behavior modifying “medications”, five to eight boys are drugged.
For every female student suicide, there are five boys who kill themselves.

Boy dropout of American schools two and one-half times more often than girls.

In the early 1980s. women were already getting equal numbers of bachelor’s degrees. Now, women get 135 degrees for every 100 bachelor’s degrees earned by men. In the class of 2016 there will be 162 woman graduates for each 100 men.

Throughout our history women have sought to marry men with higher income and status than themselves. Tens of thousands of American women graduates will have to seek their higher status husbands among the immigrants with H1B visas. Thousands of American young men will have to seek their lower status wives among the uneducated female immigrants flooding across our southern border.

It is a commonplace idea that Negro students need Negro teachers as role models. 70 percent of America’s secondary school teachers are women. In elementary school, the percentage of female elementary schoolteachers has risen from 82% in 1980 to 91% today. More and more, men have been banished from the classrooms.
Worldwide, the Third International Math & Science Study scores increased 7 points for each 1% increase in the percent of teachers who are men. The US ranked DEAD LAST in more 12th grade TIMSS subjects in 1995 than any other nation and the percentage of women teachers has increased since then.
During a three-month period in 1997 MetLife surveyed 1,306 students and 1,035 teachers in grades seven through twelve to investigate the question of gender equity. The MetLife study found: “Contrary to the commonly held view that boys are at an advantage over girls in school, girls appear to have an advantage over boys in terms of their future plans, teachers’ expectations, everyday experiences at school and interactions in the classroom.”

Girls are more likely than boys to see themselves as college-bound and more likely to want a good education. More boys (31 percent) than girls (19 percent) felt that teachers did not listen to what they had to say.

The Horatio Alger Association releases an annual back-to-school survey. Its survey for 1998 contrasted two groups of students: the “highly successful” (about 18 percent of American students) and the “disillusioned” (approximately 15 percent).  The successful group in the 1998 survey is 63 percent female and 37 percent male. The disillusioned students are pessimistic about their future, get low grades, and have little contact with teachers. The disillusioned group could accurately be characterized as demoralized. According to the Alger Association, nearly seven out of ten were boys.

The denial of the facts about gender differences in mental capacity may be worse than herein presented.

I have read that when David Wechsler was developing his IQ test, he found that out of 105 tests assessing skills in solving maze-puzzles, involving the most heterogeneous populations throughout the world, 99 showed an incontrovertible male superiority. It has been alleged that Wechsler resolved this type of problem by eliminating all those tests that revealed male superiority. For recent research see Professor Timothy Bates’ current research Abstract ... Males have only a marginal advantage in mean levels of [IQ] but substantially greater variance. Among the top 2% ... there were almost twice as many males as females. These differences could provide a partial basis for sex differences in intellectual eminence.

This is rich.

The disillusioned group could accurately be characterized as demoralized. According to the Alger Association, nearly seven out of ten were boys.

What is the racial composition of this group?

Increasingly, Europid males of above average IQ will find themselves in the lower classes. Barred from rising to their proper station in life due to the class nepotism of their own people, race, and sex, and consistently degraded for same, these males will cast about for solutions at increasingly earlier stages of life.

Be assured, they will not be satisfied with the monetarism of conservative racialism.  Neither will they be attracted to the suicidal nihilism of racialist “revolutionaries.” They will not send dollars to support you in “your important work.” Neither will they risk losing and dying for nothing.  They will not protect you on the basis of race, for it will be clear to them that you were never serious about racialism.  You will be viewed as a liability.

Repent and change, or become irrelevant.

You present some interesting data, but I have questions about your statistics.

For example: “98% of the top 50 percentile of GRE Physics test takers are males. This means that only 2% of the females who take the physics test score in the top 50% of scores.”

That would only be the case if an equal number of men and women took the physics GRE. I took the physics GRE, and that is not the case. If say 80% of the test takers were male / 20% female (my conservative guess) it would be 5% of women scoring in the top 50%. It’s not that errors like that detract hugely from your essential argument, but they make it hard to accept your statistical judgement. (I’d like to see a breakdown of US Phsyics GRE scores v. international Physics GRE scores, but that’s neither here nor there)

I couldn’t really follow your second table, but if you have a full dataset, do a “One way analysis of variance” which is a statistical technique for measuring correlation or causation depending on how you collected your data. (There are free tools for this online) Then you’d have solid statistics to report, with F-test values and standard deviations, that would be more convincing.

Bert Rustle’s point above is I think fairly generally accepted, you mention it in passing. A population of women has an intelligence with a smaller standard deviation. So fewer Einsteins and fewer idiots. This would go much of the way to explaining your data. (Most of your data is men scoring better at the top and being over-represented at the bottom (dropouts etc) That is what the data would lead us to suspect)

The other points:
Re: Male teachers
Do you think men are being driven out of teaching, or just not signing up for it? No one is stopping them. A friend of mine recently went back to school for a physics teaching certificate, he’s reported no harassment at either the HS or the University.

Re:Women in college
I don’t see the problem with more women in men then college. College doesn’t require a particularly high degree of intelligence unless you choose a very select college or are pursuing a particularly challenging field (Or at worst: both) so as long as criteria for those programs aren’t relaxed (And they tighten more than relax these days) there is no problem. Pure intelligence is not the most useful attribute for most of the positions you get with a college degree these days. An ability to get along socially in large social structures is probably more useful, I suspect two or three factors would come into play before native intelligence in most correlations between factor X and success in your average Bachelors degree job. So even if the mean of female intelligence is below the mean of male intelligence, it is not a contradiction to say that women are more suited to succeed in college.

Hmmm.

MAE requirements at Chapman University in Orange, California include:

Voice, Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice
Collaboration for Inclusive Schooling
Teaching and Learning in the Culturally Diverse Classroom I
Teaching and Learning in the Culturally Diverse Classroom II
Teaching and Learning in the Culturally Diverse Classroom III

Imagine a white male taking “Voice, Diversity, Equity, and Social Change” where the disparities referred to in RR’s post are addressed in a setting which is disproportionately feminist.  Furthermore, imagine that a successful “collaborative” outcome is a large part of the grade:

“If greater emphasis is placed on socializing boys like girls, then perhaps these disparities will disappear. What do you think, ladies?”?

Semester grade - 4.0

I certain all femmes will agree that leftist credentialing programs have nothing to do with the falling numbers of men in education.

Go along to get along.  In cases like these, some people don’t go.  I would imagine that prospective male teachers are included in the latter.

Your commentary indicates to me that you approach questions of what I’d call “high politics” with a kind of breezy solipsism. 

Paraphrase:  “Why should I care if White women are being siphoned off into college when the common racial good would be better served if they were directed to more traditional roles?  Hey, just more chicks for me to ogle and hopefully bang.  That is assuming I eventually condescend to agknowledge your gauche racialist premises.”

Notice in that La Griffe paper, by the way, how by using his elegant “diversity space” method he derives a Negro-Euro intelligence difference (g difference) of not 1 but 1.09 SD, corresponding to not 15 but 16 IQ points.

I was chatting to a friend’s 16 year-old son not long ago about how things were going in school and what they were studying and so on.

He mentioned that they were reading some Shakespeare in English class and, liking the Bard myself of course, I asked him which play.

Romeo and Juliet—which, not surprisingly, didn’t grip this kid’s imagination much.

I just groaned inside my head and wondered, as I always do, why they don’t offer—at least for the boys—something more exciting like one of the history plays or Macbeth or Hamlet.  R&J;’s okay, but it’s definitely a “girlie” play.

People shouldn’t be surprised that men and women different in average IQ—and, very importantly, differ in verbal vs. spatial IQ.  The two genders are specialised for different tasks.  What’s so hard about understanding that?  And, what’s the problem with acknowledging it?

Hibernia Girl: People shouldn’t be surprised that men and women different in average IQ—and, very importantly, differ in verbal vs. spatial IQ.  The two genders are specialised for different tasks. What’s so hard about understanding that?  And, what’s the problem with acknowledging it?

If you acknowledge it, you can’t blame men for women’s “failure” in certain areas, or rather, you can’t blame white heterosexual men. No blame, no gain, from the socialist POV. The same applies to racial differences. Just ask the Chief Rabbi:

Sacks said Britain’s politics had been poisoned by the rise of identity politics, as minorities and aggrieved groups jockeyed first for rights, then for special treatment. The process, he said, began with Jews, before being taken up by blacks, women and gays. He said the effect had been inexorably divisive. “A culture of victimhood sets group against group, each claiming that its pain, injury, oppression, humiliation is greater than that of others,” he said.

Or share a husband in the form of mistressing.  A piece of a rich man is better than all of a poor man.

The discrimination against males strikes me as a sort of collective, distributed form of polygamy.  The real losers in a polygamous system are the non-alpha males.  Sexual harassment codes always refer to “unwanted” advances.  Bill Clinton can do interns in the oval office all day with no serious repercussions.  Corporate CEOs are, for the most part, still overwelmingly male, even with affirmative action.  My wife had an English professor in college who sucessfully hit on many of the female students.  Now there is a greater ratio of female to male students for these professors to hit on.  Same for the corporate CEOs.

No it doesn’t.  It means that only 2% of the test takers who score in the top 50% are female.

Wrong.  The percent of boys achieving a score in the top range for mathematics was 152% higher than the number of girls who achieved a score in the top range. The percent of boys achieving a verbal score in the top range was 16% higher than the number of girls who achieved a score in the top range.  Alternately: The percent of boys achieving a score in the top range for mathematics was 252% OF the number of girls who achieved a score in the top range. The percent of boys achieving a verbal score in the top range was 116% OF the number of girls who achieved a score in the top range.

Men score a lot lower on energatic level.  Men’s energy vibrates at 40 points, women 140 or three times higher.  Men’s energy is equivalent to depression energy.  Because various emotions have their own vibration too.  Lower level emotions such fear, greed, envy, depression vibrate lower.  Emotions such as love, hope, joy vibrate higher.  This is why women are more of a creative force than men.  Men all they do is sulk in their own negativity.

Men can score higher in physics.  Women score higher on intuition.  Men can’t even enter the realm of intuition.  Intuitive faculties aren’t even considered anything of value.  That’s how much you drive women out of society.  Anything that women do or are good at, is considered cheap, useless nonsense. 

I am tired of men’s pitty parties feeling sorry for themselves.  But you take your frustrations out on women.  Women might be behind in many things, but they don’t actively seek to bring men down.  They might be slow, but they don’t act as a wall in your life.  My father, brother, every man I dated, my boss, co-workers every single one of them has only been a wall in my life.  See how much you can score in math with a wall in your life.

Women are free.  Because their whole livelihood is not based on proving to men they are better than them.  They spend their time on self-improvement.  It would serve you well to get a life too.
