Harvard Hates The White Race?

Is the multicultural campaign really about diversity? Or is it about stamping out Western civilization and the “white race” itself?  College students will tell you that a university education today is a guilt trip for whites. The purpose is to prevent whites from appreciating and absorbing their own culture and to make it difficult for whites to resist the unreasonable demands (quotas, reparations, etc.) from “people of color.”  To the questions, “who am I, what am I,” the white university graduate answers: “a racist, sexist, homophobic oppressor.”

So who was the Fascist b****** who said this?

A selective account of American history used to justify actions elsewhere:

“Just a word about “universal fraternal union of peoples” and the drawing of “boundaries established by the sovereign will of the peoples themselves on the basis of their national characteristics”. The United States and Mexico are two republics, in both of which the people is sovereign.

How did it happen that over Texas a war broke out between these two republics, which, according to the moral theory, ought to have been “fraternally united” and “federated”, and that, owing to “geographical, commercial and strategical necessities”, the “sovereign will” of the American people, supported by the bravery of the American volunteers, shifted the boundaries drawn by nature some hundreds of miles further south? And will B.  accuse the Americans of a “war of conquest”, which, although it deals with a severe blow to his theory based on “justice and humanity”, was nevertheless waged wholly and solely in the interest of civilization? Or is it perhaps unfortunate that splendid California has been taken away from the lazy Mexicans, who could not do anything with it? That the energetic Yankees by rapid exploitation of the California gold mines will increase the means of circulation, in a few years will concentrate a dense population and extensive trade at the most suitable places on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, create large cities, open up communications by steamship, construct a railway from New York to San Francisco, for the first time really open the Pacific Ocean to civilization, and for the third time in history give the world trade a new direction? The “independence” of a few Spanish Californians and Texans may suffer because of it, in someplaces “justice” and other moral principles may be violated; but what does that matter to such facts of world-historic significance?”

More anti-white prejudice in the disunited Kingdom

Lake District is facing mass resignations by its volunteer rangers over a decision to scrap free guided walks in the national park because they do not attract enough people from ethnic minority communities.  Ranger-led walks are among 900 Lake District events planned for 2005-06 that are to be dropped because they appeal mostly to “white, middle-class, middle-aged people”.  The cost-cutting move is part of a strategy that hopes to win extra government and European Union funding for the park by meeting targets to attract more young, urban, black, Asian and disabled people. Some people have accused the authority, which is due to ratify the decision today, of saying that white people are no longer welcome in the Lake District.

British Teachers told to promote Gay Pride

Leftists will do anything to create disturbances to the normal life of mainstream society.  And if it provokes a backlash, so much the better from their viewpoint

Schools are being urged to advertise gay lifestyles to children in a Government drive to ‘challenge homophobia’.  In an attempt to clamp down on supposedly homophobic language, the guidelines say teachers should be reported if they refer to boys as ‘sissies’, accuse them of standing around ‘like a mothers’ meeting’ or call them a ‘bunch of girls’.

Origins of Nazism

Something that needs to be noted more often:  “While most of the media and political class refer to communism and socialism as leftist ideologies and Nazism and fascism as ideologies of the far right, these ideologies are merely different forms of statism. Socialists believe in government ownership of all economic entities and land. Fascists realized that government did not have to own enterprises in order to have total power over them. Thus, fascists tend to be extremely authoritarian and comprehensive regulators. Both ideologies are based on the subjugation of individual liberty and free markets by the agents of the state.”

A typical Hitler rant

:  “True, it is a fixed idea with the French that the Rhine is their property, but to this arrogant demand the only reply worthy of the German nation is Arndt’s: “Give back Alsace and Lorraine”.  For I am of the opinion, perhaps in contrast to many whose standpoint I share in other respects, that the reconquest of the German-speaking left bank of the Rhine is a matter of national honour, and that the Germanisation of a disloyal Holland and of Belgium is a political necessity for us. Shall we let the German nationality be completely suppressed in these countries, while the Slavs are rising ever more powerfully in the East?”  But it was not Hitler who said it.  It was written in 1841 by Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx’s co-author.

An interesting email from Germany

In response to my post yesterday about the Marxist origins of genocide, I received the following email from one of my correspondents:

It’s good to see that somebody in the Anglospehre begins to expose the true spirit of Marx and Engels. There is a great german book, written by Prof. Konrad Loew, “Das Rotbuch der kommunistischen Ideologie - Marx und Engels, die V,ter des Terrors” (“The Redbook of communist Ideology - Marx and Engels, the Fathers of Terror”), consisting nearly entirely of quotes by Marx and Engels. Their hate and contempt was infinite, and wasn’t limited to capitalists or other nations. You’ll find insults against Democrats, Christians, Jews, Blacks and many other People, a megalomanic poem written by the young Marx, the conspiracy of Marx and Engels to extort money from Marx’ mother, about the need for a bloody revolution and (after that) a merciless dictatorship, and so on.

Loew not only took quotes out of the “Marx Engels Werke” (Marx & Engels Works), but also found (maybe even more) interesting stuff in the private letters of Marx and Engels. It’s a sad picture. Apparently, those two figures where hate-filled sociopaths. Marx, for example, extorted his father and tried to blackmail his mother after the death of his father.

I have compiled a 100 Kb file out of the book, consisting of the most “hardcore” quotes (in German, with annual details and references to the “Marx Engels Werke”), which I use in online-discussions with communists and socialists. Let me know if you have any use for this file, and I’ll send it to you.

I am myself a bit busy for it but if anybody feels like translating Dirk’s 100kb file from German, I would be happy to post the result on the net.

And another good email from Germany:  “I saw your link to the “German Idiocy” article and had to laugh. The story fits in quite well with my experiences as an American living in Germany and working in the German academic enviornment. I attended a presentation on Bayesian statistics several weeks ago, where the presenter needed an example of updated probabilities. He began discussing the probability that the U.S. would invade Iran now that the U.S. had invaded Iraq. This led to some in the audience mentioning other countries where the U.S. had been engaged militarily. I quickly shouted out, “Germany!” This shut them up, and the presentation continued without further America bashing.”

The ideological origins of genocide

“In January 1849, months before he migrated to London, Karl Marx published an article by Friedrich Engels in Die Neue Rheinische Zeitung announcing that in Central Europe only Germans, Hungarians and Poles counted as bearers of progress. The rest must go. “The chief mission of all other races and peoples, large and small, is to perish in the revolutionary holocaust.” 

Genocide arose out of Marx’s master-theory of history - feudalism giving place inevitably to capitalism,  capitalism to socialism. The lesser races of Europe - Basques, Serbs, Bretons and others - being sunk in feudalism, were counter-revolutionary; having failed to develop a bourgeoisie, they would be two steps behind in the historical process. Engels dismissed them as left-overs and ethnic trash (Voelkerabfall), and called for their extinction.                               

So genocide was born as a doctrine in the German Rhineland in January 1849, in a Europe still reeling from the revolutions of 1848. It was to become the beacon light of socialism, proudly held and proudly proclaimed.”

No native voices

I am grateful to John for this link to Charles Bremner’s Times article on the forthcoming hate speech Bill in France.  It ties in, of course, with David Blunkett’s decision to insert a clause protecting Muslim sensibilities into his Serious Organised Crime and Police Bill.  A high-class article in today’s Telegraph by Charles Moore argues against that injustice more eloquently than can I.

We do not lack compelling arguments against a religious hate speech law or, for once, compelling arguers.  To their credit, Liberal Democrat MPs and, it’s said, many Labour ones, too, are also disturbed by this attack on freedom.  I don’t suppose more than one in ten non-Muslims sees it as anything other than another unjust imposition on the real British peoples.  But that one in ten evidently includes our political and juridical elite as well as all the little bees who work so busily in the public and voluntary sectors to neuter us and make Britain safe for minorities.

Amazon prefers its religion eastern

Below is an e-mail one of my readers recently sent to Amazon.com (cross-posted from PC Watch)

Last year, when I asked Amazon why they said ‘holiday’ for the Christmas season – where, undoubtedly, at least 90% of the gifts purchased are for Christmas - I was given some dribble about diversity, multiculturalism, etc.

Well, I went to my front page and saw this in the movies section: ” This holiday season Amazon.com brings you Amazon Theater, an exclusive collection of five short films all centered on the theme of karma. ”

Did you know ‘karma’ is overtly religious - Buddhism. So I am curious, why is ‘Christmas’ such a taboo word, even though the overwhelming majority of your December shoppers celebrate it, yet you have no problem showcasing a Buddhist belief?”

(MR editor writes: Amazon’s pee-cee has a wacky nu-biz edge to it.  Scroll down on this page and read: “While the films are not specifically holiday themed, there is a common thread among them - karma. All five films have an element of karmic balance - what goes around comes around, and those who do the right thing for the long term are rewarded.” Which is jolly nice.  But “the long term” is l-o-n-g.  You do have to kick the bucket and get yourself essentially-recycled to get to the good bit, guys.  A little lower down still we come to the wierdly megalomaniac reasoning for this anti-Christian bias: “Amazon.com seeks to be Earth’s most customer-centric company”  Customer-centric?  So what were those amazing Amazon sales figures for Tibet again? Beam me up Gautama.)

Boscov’s is anti-Christmas

Boscov’s, a $1 billion department store chain based in Pennsylvania, is a 91-year-old, privately-held company.

It “is focused on bringing the latest styles and trends in fashion and home decor” to you.  But it won’t sell you a Christmas card.  A reader writes: “Boscov’s displays gift cards for sale throughout the store. The Christmas gift card only says “Merry”, because any reference to the word “Christmas” is banned at Boscov’s. However, it is side-by-side with a “HAPPY HANUKKAH” card. Please encourage all Christians to boycott Boscov’s. Please help spread the word soon, as Boscov’s makes the bulk of their annual profits selling the very Christmas gifts they refuse to acknowledge.”

Faith schools in the modern British state

Americans who don’t realize how traditional complexities often linger in England in spite of the left/liberal tendency of British politics are surprised by the persistence of faith schools there. It shouldn’t surprise anyone, though, that the secular and multicultural commitments of the British state have now made faith schools an issue, or that the issue has its practical complexities that reflect something more general than peculiar English conditions.

The practical problem is that secular multicultural education is always bad, at least on any large scale, because schools of that kind can’t have educational goals that are more sustaining than pliability on the one hand and the effective pursuit of self-interest on the other. If the moral world consists solely of the conflicting purposes of various people, then you either teach children to do what they’re told or you teach them to get what they want. The results of such an outlook when applied to education are fundamental aimlessness, aggression, manipulation, boredom, stupidity, and general bad conduct. Everybody hates everybody, and nobody learns anything.

It’s Wednesday.  It’s Society Guardian day.

Over the rich, indeed fabulously rich years since 1997 all the willing little helpers of the Blair-Mandelson Project have, like all large criminal enterprises, demonstrated that familiar, old habit of going legit.  The clashing, renegade clamour of the first, orange-haired Lesbian Outreach Officers and Directors of Asian Women’s Collectives has modulated to the smooth, machine-like hum of (if not sober-suited, at least no longer dungareed) public sector professionals.  The marxism is the same.  But these days Blair’s helpers –  those classes of being faultlessly assessed by Sean Gabb back in January 2001 - are infinitely more self-assured and certain in the permanence of their revolution.

And why not?  It’s not as if the argument ever risked being lost.  There was no argument, no public discussion at all.  Marxism has no need to win over public support.  It wins simply by seizing the manifold positions of power and unpacking its programme from there.  So, today, what tangible opposition do public sector “professionals” encounter in their daily round of service delivery to the indolent, the ineducable, the criminal, husbandless, queer or “vibrant”.  None from the ideologically moribund political right, that’s for sure.

In quiet moments, when the vibrancy calms down a bit, our new elite can reflect upon the killingly funny fact that The Project is entirely financed by the capitalist, middle-class - who can’t do a damned thing about it.  Meanwhile, the traditional, working class Labour supporters - who could - are simply too engrossed in footy and Corrie to notice that they, too, are the reactionary enemy now.  They simply carry on voting for their own cultural persecution, because it doesn’t hurt their pay packets.

But the greatest source of comfort to the Blairite public sector is surely of the spirit.  The Project bestows upon those who have yearned for equality all their lives the chance to make their dream come true.  The Project works, or so it appears.  The cultural and racial landscape of Britain is being changed, or so it appears.  A more egalitarian society – or, and this is no mere appearance, a more repressive one - is being engineered.
