Samuel Francis on Martin Luther King Jr Day

Samuel Francis (a man who actually earned his doctorate!) on this America’s most sacred of holidays:

[T]he true meaning of the holiday is that it serves to legitimize the radical social and political agenda that King himself favored and to delegitimize traditional American social and cultural institutions—not simply those that supported racial segregation but also those that support a free market economy, an anti-communist foreign policy, and a constitutional system that restrains the power of the state rather than one that centralizes and expands power for the reconstruction of society and the redistribution of wealth. In this sense, the campaign to enact the legal public holiday in honor of Martin Luther King was a small first step on the long march to revolution, a charter by which that revolution is justified as the true and ultimate meaning of the American identity. In this sense, and also in King’s own sense, as he defined it in his speech at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, the Declaration of Independence becomes a “promissory note” by which the state is authorized to pursue social and economic egalitarianism as its mission, and all institutions and values that fail to reflect the dominance of equality—racial, cultural, national, economic, political, and social—must be overcome and discarded.

Gays are immoral, says top Muslim

Multiculturalism, Diversity and PeeCee often throw up a remarkable combination of mind-boggling, er, combinations.

We have “Sir” Iqbal Sacranie, a man who supported the fatwa against Salman Rushdie in the 1980s knighted by the geniuses at Nu Labour. On the other hand, we have the Homosexual lobby which effectively controls the British cabinet or certainly its “social” (or should that be “anti-social”?) policies. All working together, coming together in a wonderful happy clappy “diverse” paradise in which they lived happily ever after.

More Alibhai than Anthony

Today I happened across an internet site named Heritage and Identity.  The Heritage in question was said to be British.  But, in fact, it seemed pretty much concerned with Englishness alone.  Out of curiosity I settled down to read an article on the site, somewhat baldly titled Last orders for the English Aborigine.

I should, of course, have realised from the Heritage Lottery Fund symbol on the banner that, despite the emphasis on heritage, the H&I site is a Marxist front.  The Heritage Lottery Fund doesn’t provide grants to nativist interest groups like, for example, MR.

Employment tribunal celebrates modern working practices: Reactionary customers urged to duck

The doughty inhabitants of Eastleigh, Hampshire have been treated to a fine live pantomime, courtesy of our sexual discrimination laws and employment tribunal, this Christmas. It’s the heart-warming story of Caroline Gardner, shop worker at Booker Cash and Carry and lesbian (this is an important plot hook), and her fight, backed by just the entire UK government, against the patriarchy of a local shop.

The story begins whilst our heroine is doing her work, when enters a Reactionary Bigoted Man (boo hiss!). Failing to find any lime cordial in the shop, he becomes somewhat annoyed, and allegedly refers to our Caroline as a “filthy dyke” and allegedly pushes her back. Rising manfully (whoops!) to the occasion, our Caroline lobs a bag of flour at the back of his head (she’s behind you!).

Yggdrasil’s Movie List

At this stage in the movement for Euro-American survival, it is vital that we begin to assemble our own Media libraries filled with content that we can watch repeatedly - content that will gradually isolate us from the surrounding popular culture, and allow us to pay a smaller share of our incomes to the entertainment industry.

It is absolutely vital that we cancel our cable subscriptions, but that is extremely difficult to do unless we have quality media libraries as a substitute. Equally important, we need reliable information as to the movies you can rent or buy without fear of encountering the worst forms of negative conditioning messages and images.

The Dungy Affair

On December 22nd James Dungy, son of NFL coach Tony Dungy, died in an apparent suicide.  A few days ago a Stormfront post brought James’ Myspace.com profile (or rather, a Web cache of it) to my attention.  It consists mainly of stereotypical homages to black nihilism but one thing stood out, Dungy’s listing of the D.C. Snipers as his heroes.  Stretching my ebonics to the limit, the best translation I can summon is that he admired the D.C. snipers because they showed that whites aren’t the only race able to go ‘round the bend.  He expressed surprise that they’d turned out non-white.  (if the junior Dungy had read this he might’ve been even more surprised).

On diverse enjoyments

Since last weekend’s events in North Cronulla we have once again been treated to the enlightened thinking of some visiting liberals.  It tends to be a frustrating experience.  Stopping these people from displaying their faux-morality long enough to answer a fact-based argument is really very difficult.  But it has ever been thus.  I remember how, back in the 1960’s and even as late as the early 1980’s, Conservative thinkers agonised over the tendency for the educated young to look to a radical left that was all noisy protest.  A great many students were weak and were simply swept along with the rebellious spirit of the times.  But be they weak or strong, we are surely reaping their whirlwind now.

The past few months have been a study of contrasts. On the one hand, in the rarefied atmosphere of the House of Commons the right honourable members have been debating whether to make the criticism of any religious or racial group illegal.  On the other, the law-abiding citizens of Birmingham have been asking themselves a somewhat less theoretical version of the same question, as their city erupted in Pakistani-Black gang warfare.  Meanwhile, from Strasbourg in the West to Nantes in the East, from Marseilles in the South to Paris in the North, the Fifth French Republic descended into anarchy and bloodshed.  The perpetrators just happened to be almost exclusively North African or Sub-Saharan African.

The West sure takes diversity, equality and tolerance seriously.  It has grown to be inevitable that, whatever harm “diversity” brings, the anti-racist crowd will demand more effort from the majority.  Let us, however, consider what has been done for Britain’s sexual, racial and religious minorities over the past few years.  Laws banning various forms of discrimination have been passed.  European directives have been agreed on.  A statue commemorating that great hero of the multicultural morality play, Nelson Mandela, is due to be erected in Trafalgar Square.  The new, super-egalitarian Commission for Equality and Human Rights (pdf) will have enough resources lavished on it to lift every single Briton above the poverty line (if it isn’t raised, which it will be).

I BELIEVE that the rise of Middle Eastern organised crime in Sydney will have an impact on society unlike anything we have ever seen.

In the early 1980s, as a young detective I was attached to the Drug Squad at the old CIB. I remember executing a search warrant at Croydon, where we found nearly a pound of heroin. I know that now sounds very familiar; however, what set this heroin apart was that it was Beaker Valley Heroin, markedly different from any heroin I had seen. Number Four heroin from the golden triangle of South-East Asia is nearly always off-white, almost pure diamorphine. This heroin was almost brown.

But more remarkable were the occupants of the house. They were very recent arrivals from Lebanon, and from the moment we entered the premises, we wrestled and fought with the male occupants, were abused and spat at by the women and children, and our search took five times longer because of the impediments placed before us by the occupants, including the women hiding heroin in baby nappies and on themselves and refusing to be searched by policewomen because of religious beliefs. We had never encountered these problems before.

As was the case in those days, we arrested every adult and teenager who had hampered our search. When it came to court, they were represented by Legal Aid, of course, who claimed that these people were innocent of the minor charges of public disorder and hindering police, because they were recent arrivals from a country where people have an historical hatred towards police, and that they also had poor communications skills and that the police had not executed the warrant in a manner that was acceptable to the Muslim occupants.

The magistrate, well known to police as one who convicted fewer than one in ten offenders brought before him during his term at Burwood local court, threw the matter out, siding with the occupants and condemning the police. I remember thinking, thank heavens we don’t run into many Lebanese drug dealers.

The Islamic terror began in ‘the terrible summer of 1625’ when North African corsair slave raiders invaded and devastated the southern coasts of England, and for a short while even raised the green battle standard of Islam over English territory that had engraved upon it the terrible promise “The gates of Paradise are under the shade of swords .” From the coast of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Southern Ireland the Islamic slave raiders murdered and stole away entire villages to be sold into slavery in the Islamic Empire of the East.

The slavers in 1625 from that one raid alone then returned to Algiers with a thousand British men, women and children to be sold into slavery. In total the North African Islamic pirates abducted and enslaved more than 1 million – 1.3 million White Europeans between 1530 and 1780 in a series of raids that depopulated coastal towns from Sicily to Cornwall.

To keep the slave population stable, around one-quarter had to be replaced each year, which for the period 1580 to 1680 meant around 8,500 new slaves a year, totalling 850,000 slaves taken. The same methodology would suggest 475,000 were abducted in the previous and following centuries. From 1500 to 1650, when trans-Atlantic slaving was still in its infancy, more white Christian slaves were probably taken to Barbary than black African slaves to the Americas.

According to one estimate, 7,000 English people were abducted between 1622-1644, many of them ships’ crews and passengers who were stopped and seized by slave traders mid voyage.

Postmodernism

I rarely read philosophy these days.  I went into the basic philosophical questions in my student days and shortly thereafter had published my conclusions about the nature of mind, the nature of ethics, the nature of cause and the nature of self.  I have never seen any reason to alter my views about any of the questions concerned in the many years since but I have at times elaborated a little more fully my views about moral philosophy.

And for me any philosophy that fails to give an account of mind, ethics, cause and self is quite simply failed philosophy.  And a philosophy that denies that any of those things are real is therefore fit only to be ignored.  As it happens, however, there are lots of failed philosophers about and they have somehow conned the taxpayers into paying them a lot of money.  They call themselves “postmoderninsts” and, as far as one can make any sense at all of what they say,  their essential credo seems to be “nothing is real”.  When I come across such garbage I tend to be overcome by the wish that I could hit the so-called philosophers over the head with a baseball bat and then say to them:  “Don’t worry.  Nothing is real so I didn’t really hit you over the head with a baseball bat.  Just carry on as before while I get ready to hit you again”.  I think reality would be rapidly rediscovered under those circumstances.

Displaying the flag of England is racist??

A war of words has broken out between soccer club bosses after a fan unfurled a St Georges flag with the words “Born in England Live in England Die in England .”  Brentford manager Martin Allen said he felt the words on the flag were racially offensive.  He spoke out after his side’s FA cup match against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park . Two weeks ago the same flag was flown when Oldham played Brentford in a league match at Griffin Park and police ordered it be taken down.  The flag has now been banned from the ground while an investigation takes place.

Mr Allen explained the London club has a number of black players in the squad who took great offence at the message.  He said: “Sadly, very sadly, that flag has racist undertones and we made a complaint about it then.  “Although it was removed it came back out again near the end of the game and nothing was done about it.  “It made it a difficult afternoon.  “If we see it again at our ground I will find the person responsible and burn it in front of him.  “There is no room for it in society or in football.”

Following its reappearance in Oldham he complained to club officials who promised to look into the situation.  But Oldham manager Ronnie Moore, said: “How can that be racist? Maybe if it was being flown at a match in Wales or Scotland it could be considered racist but I can’t see how that it is racist here - I don’t know what he’s going on about.  “We have foreign and black players on our team and none of them said anything or complained to me.”

A spokesman from the Commission for Racial Equality, said: “Flying the St Georges flag is not viewed as racist, but racism in football and racist comments directed against players and fans should not be tolerated.”

London Metropolitan Police:  The new Gestapo?

They are not quite the new Gestapo yet but they are a long way down the track.  The immediate and savage execution of a Brazilian electrician just because he looked like a known terrorist and the lies the London police used in an attempt to exculpate themselves got worldwide publicity.  That should have been a huge wake-up call for the British powers that be to bring their police back into civilization but the only difference now seems to be that they don’t shoot you on mere suspicion.  They can still be extraordinarily oppressive to innocent people if they are feeling a bit bored, however.  Read this account of the ordeal that David Mery—a totally innocent computer geek—was put through just because he was wearing a backpack while quietly waiting for a London Underground train.

BNP banned again

Members of the British National Party should not apply for jobs in the fire service as there is no place for racists or bigots, a chief fire officer said in a report released today.

Martin Chapman, Dorset Fire and Rescue chief fire officer, said: “Membership of the BNP is not itself unlawful, but its core values are considered to be incompatible with those of the fire authority and the role of the fire and rescue service.”

Spanish Becoming Compulsory in USA?

If your staff speak only English that seems to be no longer good enough in Ohio.  At the very least you are not allowed to mention it.  Press excerpt:

“A tavern’s sign, “For Service Speak English,” violates Ohio civil rights law, a commission ruled Thursday - as the sign still sat in the window of the Pleasure Inn on U.S. 42.  The Ohio Civil Rights Commission says that, because of the sign, the Pleasure Inn “engaged in discriminatory practices.”  As a result of the finding, the business could be ordered to remove the sign, to pay for advertisements about nondiscrimination, and its staff could be ordered to undergo diversity training or cultural sensitivity training, said Christia Alou White, commission spokeswoman….. Ullum responded that “the sign means exactly what it says. ... None of (the tavern’s) employees speak any language other than English and, therefore, would be unable to communicate with any patrons who are not versed in the English language.”

Call for translation

Thanks to Fred for pointing out this poster, issued by some governmental body in Germany - that brown-skinned and by no means brown-shirted land of happy Panmixia of respectful equals (except in boxing, running and penis size, obviously).

The inference seems clear enough.  But I wonder whether any kind and eagle-eyed German speakers among the MR readership could translate the copy for us.  Basically, is the model family in the poster being held up as a generic German family, or is it the purpose of the advertiser to reach out specifically to mixed-race families - perhaps for some vaguely defensible administrative reason?
