Mass migration destroys humanity?

A key distinguishing feature of humanity is its communication ability.  But what exactly is communication as opposed to manipulation?  How does communication arise?  What are the conditions for its continuation?  There have been a number of attempts at simulating the evolution of communication but till the simulation described in this article was run, none of them combined migration, climatic variation and the prisoner’s dilemma.

The simulaton is schematic but suggestive that migration can eliminate the very genetic capacity for communication and replace it with pure manipulation.

Grouch (2)

I think I have replied to all the comments—including the ad hominem ones— on my original “grouch” posting about “race replacement” and the only substantial argument that kept emerging was that for various reasons immigration IS responsible for depressing the white birthrate and that it does so by impoverishing whites.  That despite the fact that in terms of geography, history and social stratification, all the evidence indicates that poverty in general goes with HIGH birthrates.

And there is a VERY good example that as far as I can see throws all the “race-replacement”  wallahs into the creek:  Japan.

Japan is one of the world’s richest countries and allows virtually NO immigration.  Yet its birthrate is exceptionally low.

Does that not show conclusively that it is affluence, not immigration, that suppresses the native birthrate?

I note that in the “Comments” on this blog particularly, the phrase “race replacement” often occurs.  From time to time I add a comment myself pointing out how absurd use of that term is but what I have said so far seems to have had no influence whatsoever so I think I should as a last-ditch measure devote a post to the term.

Birth Rates Among Immigrants in America

Analysis of data collected by Census Bureau in 2002 shows that women from the top-10 immigrant- sending countries living in the United States collectively tend to have higher fertility than women in their home countries. As a group, immigrants from these countries have 23 percent more children than women in their home countries, adding to world population growth. Among the findings:

Liberal Cities, or Black Cities?

I was watching Tucker Carlson the other day, and he brought up this story that states that the most liberal city in America is Detroit, MI followed by Gary, IN, and Berkeley California.  The most Conservative city is Provo, UT followed by Lubbock and Abeline, TX.

The center that did the study did not tell their research methods, and the results make me question them.  I doubt that either Detroit or Gary are particularly liberal in the traditional sense.  There is not great interest in gay-rights, environmentalism, or anti-war activities.  Rather they are simply two of the blackest cities in the country, and so they vote the most democratic.

In fact the press release from the Bay Area Voting Research Center who did the study stated,

The list of America’s most liberal cities reads like a who’s who of prominent African American communities. Gary, Washington D.C., Newark, Flint, Cleveland, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Birmingham have long had prominent black populations. While most black voters have consistently supported Democrats since the 1960s, it is the white liberals that have slowly withered away over the decades, leaving African Americans as the sole standard bearers for the left.

Sclerotic quote of the day

Some might consider the looming demographic disaster also to have been brought on by unfettered individualism, feminism and loss of faith, and that it somewhat outweighs in importance economism and the fate of the Euro.  Ferguson might also, in fairness to Italians, have noted with a little less complacency that Italy will be only the first of the nations of Europe to sink slowly beneath the Western horizon.  Unless proper feminine values are re-asserted in very short order (but how?) we shall all fade quietly away.

And those we import to care for us in our dotage shall have no complaints.

Did Anglo-Australia really exist?

John Ray recently contributed an article which claimed that in 1981 only 35% of the Australian population were of British origin.

As I mentioned in the comments, I find such a statistic difficult to believe, simply on the basis of my own everyday observations. Furthermore, the statistic needs to be taken seriously because if it were true it would undermine the idea that Australia once had its own distinctive Anglo-Australian (or Anglo-Celtic Australian) identity.

So I googled. I came up with two excellent articles, both from the kind of official sources which I think would satisfy John’s request for citations.

Ethnic makeup of Australia

A little while ago I posted some figures from the 1980s about the ethnic makeup of the U.S. population.  I have now come across in my files some 1981 figures about the ethnic makeup of the Australian population.  The figures come from a publication called Facts, which was, I believe, put out by the IPA, an Australian conservative think-tank based in Melbourne.

The percentages for the major categories were:  Combined English, Scottish and Welsh 35% (versus 14.5% in the USA), Irish 26% (versus 9.5% in the USA), German 8%, Italian 7%, Greek 4% and Maltese 3%.

So Australia is MUCH more Anglo-Saxon than the USA.  The Asian influx over the last 25 years would however have reduced all the percentages above somewhat.

The very small size of the WASP element in the US population is however remarkable testimony to how influential a small minority can be—which is also shown by the case of the Jews of course.  Anglo-Saxons are much more influential than the Jews, however:  Americans speak English rather than Hebrew and Protestant Christianity has had far more converts than Judaism.
