It will be interesting to watch how Nikki progresses in a sport dominated by great black athletes, giant white heavyweights have faired poorly. In a piece entitled ‘BLACK ATHLETES:CAN WHITES MEASURE UP?’ La Griffe du Lion formulates a an AQ (athletic quotient) in an attempt to measure the standard deviation in AQ between blacks and whites. Although he does not examine boxing, he concludes that ‘the NBA would have to grow to approximately 860,000 and field almost 72,000 twelve-man teams to obtain a league half white and half black. ‘

That’s enough to make one believe in the equality of man, to see those heavy brow ridges, if that’s what they are, and that unheard-of sloping forehead.

I’d want to run his DNA against neanderthals, I must say.  I’ve always thought it very odd that they died out altogether; maybe in the wilds of Russia they didn’t. It would seem likely that Homo Neanderthaliensis and Homo Sapiens could interbreed, in which case the reuslt would presumably look like this guy.

I’m not questioning the chap’s race, you understand, merely his species!

Martin, when you’re funny you’re positively hilarious.

Then there was this, from your latest Bear’s Lair offering:

“Cameron is an Old Etonian, a species that over the centuries has been particularly prone to betrayal.  It is not yet clear however which side he will betray.”

No sooner had that one gotten a loud laugh out of me than this next one did a few lines later:

“Surely the latter would be the more unexpected betrayal and is therefore the more likely!”

Great stuff!  You must be quite entertaining at dinner parties, Martin.

Homo Sapiens-Neandertal hybridization may explain why Euros dominate pure strength sports(i.e. Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, shotput, etc.). Also recall that Neanderthals were not necessarily dumber than HS, they had bigger brains.

In order to be 7’, wouldn’t he also have had to inherit the lactose tolerance allele, or one of them?

Does anyone follow “pride fighting” from Japan?  It is a mixed martial arts in the spirt of ultimate fighting.

It is interesting in that a lot of Euro’s participate and dominate for now.  It is interesting on several levels including just seeing what the best fighting Euro looks and fights like relative to other Euro’s and also how all of the different races compete with one another.

Obviously, the sample size for this highly specialized form of fighting is small so we don’t really learn too much. Still, the additional complexity of this sport closes at least some of the gap between black people and other races that exists in boxing where speed dominates.

And of course if you are a fan of any sort of fighting the quality of the events is outstanding.  Given the state of American boxing, which is very corrupt, among other problems, this is a refreshing alternative.  I must say that they put on a great show.

It seems more likely that this gentleman is a genuine giant. Giants and dwarves tend to have abnormal cranio-facial configurations. He seems to be a fairly modest, intelligent man. He can box. He can take a punch, but, strangely, he can’t punch very hard himself.

Blacks dominate boxing for physiological reasons. Despite being two inches taller than Lennox Lewis, Vitali Klitschko had a six inch reach disadvantage. Without the benefit of boxing rules whites are superior fighters to blacks.

Of course Valuev only looks scary—he is not an ape-man in any other sense. (Married with children, lives in Berlin.) Already at seven, I have read, he was as tall as his (female) schoolteacher. At the military academy he played basketball, then switched to discus throwing. He only started boxing six or seven years ago (he is 32). His nickname, “the Rock,” is probably due to his ability to take punches. I have read on other forums that Valuev’s punch is not that strong. It was enough to break an Italian giant’s jaw but it doesn’t take much force to break a jaw, does it?
