Blacks don’t careOr very few of them do anyway “A Harvard University study suggests white Americans are far more likely than their black counterparts to die soon after the death of a spouse. The longitudinal study of 410,272 elderly U.S. couples indicates the “widowhood effect”—the increased probability of death among new widows and widowers—is large and enduring among white couples, but undetectable among black couples. This is a subject I have often wondered about - not only in terms of a spouse, but of children lost in the endless chain of droughts and diseases which afflict sub-Saharan Africa. It seems perfectly appropriate that a people who have been fashioned through natural selection to reproduce at numbers consonant to the depredations of their environment will be possessed of an emotional range which is similarly consonant. It seems scarcely fair to speculate that those pitiful mothers of more pitiful babies caught up by the latest African disaster might suffer not only differently from a European Caucasion woman at the death of their offspring but also less and for a shorter time. But we know that in a traditional African setting new mothers do not raise their children in the same intimate manner as EC’s. Her extended family in the village perform that function while she goes back to the task of carrying to full term another little brother or sister for her existing children. If the mother-child bond is not the same physically, it is not the same emotionally. 5

Whites naturally expect that Africans love their children with the same dimensionality and magnitude, thus conveniently misuderstanding why a given mother would abandon her child in a time of ecological crisis. Say, after hurricane Katrina. You see it all the time. Yet racial differences in the child-father relationship are considerably more pronounced. Haha. The least likely explanation for a phenomenon is always trotted out so long as it is favorable to blacks.
These magical people manage to benefit from marriage when they aren’t even married! And all of this despite centuries of oppression from the white man. *Sniff* Their indomitable spirit is enough to bring tears to this white man’s eyes.
