Donating to the BNP

David has mentioned to me his opinion that the BNP have very little money and their recent enounter with HM Customs and the Kent police have apparently left them with a considerable legal bill. I do NOT subscribe to the BNP platform but a number of things persuaded me that I should donate something to help them out.

For a start, they are primarily a working class party and my own working class origins (my father was a lumberjack but was more of a natural gentleman than I will ever be) give me some insight to how many of the BNP members must feel. And although I myself am very pro-Asian, I can understand something of the horror they must feel at seeing their old communities overrun by what to them are alien and hostile hordes. And I think it is right and proper that their feelings about that should be heard.

But as we know, the British establishment does everything it can to suppress and silence them and that REALLY grates on my libertarian instincts. I have blogged on the recent example of such attempted suppression here and in a number of other places.

So being someone who usually matches deeds to words, I see it as right and proper to help what I see as those whose voice is being suppressed. I regret that, as a foreigner I was allowed under British law to donate only 200 pounds but I invite others here who DO share the ideals of the BNP to follow my example. I have often accused those who frequent this blog of being mainly mere windbags so let us all know in the Comments how much each of you have donated.

Let us do our best to make attempts at censorship counterproductive.

If the Tories are foolish enough to elect Kenneth Clarke as leader, thus effectively disfranchising half the population, I shall join the NF and see if they want some “Bear’s Lair” economic thoughts.

If you join the NF I’ll join your erstwhile Ghanaan friend outside your house, in the line of rather well-fed people dressed as Aushwitz survivors.

Do you think it matters that much whether or not Ken Clarke becomes leader? I am tending to the belief that the Party has to go the fire a few more times yet before it will be ready to ask itself what Conservatism actually means.

Asian settlers are alien and hostile hordes, no doubt about it.

As for donating to the BNP: although I admit I have sent a few donations, I’m not sure how effective it really is unless the money is used for arms & munitions. I don’t think we’re quite there yet.

I rather suspect that my Ghanaian friend, were he a British subject, would be right next to me filling in the NF application form if the Tories selected Clarke. Like most civilized people, he accepts that he will disagree with any organized political movements on a number of issues, and I suspect doesn’t have “liberal” model race relations as his #1 priority.

If the Tories elected Cameron, a horrid trendy but otherwise an unknown quantity, I would probably stay Tory (albeit currently abroad) and work to push the party rightwards. With Davis, not my kind of guy but essentially fairly sound, I would be somewhat more positive (IDS was my ideal among post-Thatcher leaders, and Hague was pretty good too, with the occasional huge lapse such as not going apeshit about the House of Lords.)

However Clarke’s record of opposing Conservatism on every major issue, being utterly incompetent in office, having no political principles of any kind beyond PC, and above all his sudden discovery of the free market when the time came to execute his lower-middle-class revenge on Barings combine to make him uniquely repellant, even in a gallery that in the last 50 years includes Macmillan, Heath, Major and Howard.

The Tory party hasn’t been remotely Conservative since at least Salisbury, but the British system is biased towards large parties and one must live in the real world. However there are limits, and Clarke is clearly beyond them.
