The finding adds substantially to the evidence that human evolution did not halt in the distant past, as is assumed by many social scientists.

Am I reading into this too much or was that a not-so-subtle jab to the ribs of social science?

Hopefully JD will learn to respect his betters before he swerves off into the pole.
The NYT article on this has a remarkable statement that is far out of line with the pro-diversity propaganda of today:
    “Dr. Pritchard’s test for selection rests on the fact that an advantageous mutation is inherited along with its gene and a large block of DNA in which the gene sits. If the improved gene spreads quickly, the DNA region will become less diverse…” &
    “...a significantly lesser diversity is taken as a sign of selection”
That is, for an improved gene. Somehow, the way to look for improvement of genes, such as could even be going on today; is to look, not for more diversity, but less.
How forgetful of me, it is already time to celebrate diversity again.

Is it my imagination or is a scientist supposed to provide impartial evidence of a subjects/subjects for the general public’s eduaction Instead, I clicked on to this ‘scientific’ article to find something worse than racist white men with a strong, and increasingly useless sense of self worth. I found (some) intelligent educated people who instead of conducting a forum were venting their racist hate.
Isn’t there a KKK meeting you should be attending somewhere?

India has had an enourmously tough time in the past, first trying to get rid of imperialistic Britain and their harsh rule, then rebuilding themselves after their rifts with their former brother, Pakistan. Perhaps as scientists you should READ about this before you profess an opinion.

Next time you pose this article under the guise of ‘science’ I suggest you go rub your two IQ points together and see if you can start to invent the fire because you’ve got a lot of catching up to do before you reach the standards of India.

I am an Australian married to a spanish man with an adopted Indian daughter and son. All I can say is that I am VERY glad I am so far from Europe and their internationally infamous race-hate issues. Perhaps you should take a leaf out of America’s book and at least try and help these people integrate and feel safe. Perhaps then they would not segregate and this article would not have been published to such a harsh reaction.

I feel very sorry for you all because you are going to be left behind in the coming years following India and China’s lead

You are going to have to get used to seeing Indian women because they’ll be all over your movie and TV screens.

The Raj lasted a very, very long time and was not maintained through “harshness” but by the cooption of the ruling elite.  In many places you would never have known the British were there at all.  There were huge benefits to India, not least in the bequeathing of the world’s largest democracy.

To be convinced of such a tawdry “oppression trope” is to demonstrate not only remarkably ignorance but a mechanistic capacity to soak up up leftist propaganda.

I am sorry that you did not see fit in your own life to preserve your own people.  I am sorry, too, that you think their preservation is “racist”, and again commend you to free yourself from Marxist propaganda.  I suggest you study the long-term demographic of Europe and America and ask yourself whether it is “moral” to die.
