Hatred is the feeling of intense hostility and aversion united with dislike and antipathy towards some person, thing or idea. When hatred is aimed at another person it frequently coincides with malice. Malice is the desire to cause pain, injury or distress.

Synonyms of malice are malevolence, malignity, and grudge.

Malice implies a deep-seated wish to see another suffer. Malevolence is bitter and persistent hatred that is likely to be expressed in actions. Malignity implies a deep passion and relentlessness. A grudge is a feeling of resentment or ill-will that seeks satisfaction.

Moslems believe that God is merciful and compassionate. Buddhists stress the compassion of the Buddha. Christians share this concept of the Divine.

While in the Middle East I learned that if I needed help I could count on the religious Moslems.

Every group does have some unsavory members who are consumed by vicious emotions – even ours.

I only know of one group that makes a virtue of hatred.

Simon Wiesenthal once told a story to a symposium containing Christians and Jews. While in a concentration camp, a dying guard begged him for forgiveness. Wiesenthal refused. All the Jews thought Wiesenthal had done right in not forgiving the repentant Nazi; the Christians thought he was wrong.

Haaretz

, a newspaper in Israel reputed to be moderate and liberal, printed an article by the columnist Bradley Burston.

“Jews for Jesus are evil, and there is a special place in hell just for them. I’d say to them: Believe whatever you want. Practice whatever you preach. Just stay the hell away from us.”

I imagine that if the “for Jesus” were omitted from the column, it would not have appeared in Haaretz. In many countries the Thought Police would visit the writer.

Burston complains: “It’s hard enough to be Jewish as it is. It’s tough to be Jewish if you’re secular, and it’s no less difficult if you’re religious.” This sentence is odd. Secular means not religious .It implies there a distinction between being Jewish and being a believer in the Jewish religion.

Mr. Burton believes one can be a Jewish atheist, or a Jewish Communist, or a Jewish pornographer or a Jewish pimp, but one cannot be a Jewish Christian. One can be an Irish atheist, or an Irish Communist, or an Irish pornographer or an Irish pimp. One can be a Canadian atheist, or a Canadian Communist, or a Canadian pornographer or a Canadian pimp. One cannot be a Christian atheist, or a Christian Communist, or a Christian pornographer or a Christian pimp.

One cannot be a nonChristian and a Christian at the same time. One cannot be a nonMoslem and a Moslem at the same time. But Burston is telling us that one can be a nonJew and a Jew at the same time. This entails that Jewishness is a quality independent of belief in the Jewish religion.

The most logical explanation of this confusion is that Jewishness is a heritable quality that secular Jews have that allows them to be Jewish and nonJewish simultaneously.

Since Israel only allows people with this heritable quality to immigrate and become citizens Mr. Burton lives, the Jewish state must be based on heritable qualities and not on religious beliefs.*

Mr. Burton does not deny that the Jews for Jesus are Jewish. They must share in the heritable quality that allows a nonJewish Jew to be a Jewish at one and the same time as a Jewish Jew, but he hates them.

Mr. Burton does not hate Jewish Jews who are devout or nonJewish Jews who are atheists. He hates Jews for Jesus. This brand of hatred is acceptable to Haaretz.

The only possible explanation for his convictions is that people with the heritable quality of Jewishness (who do not become Christians or otherwise reject their communal culture) have a deep-seated and socially acceptable hatred for Christians.

How do the people who share the heritable quality of Jewishness and who have not rejected their community’s fixed morally binding customs feel about hatred?

Rabbi Meir Y. Soloveichik, a Resident Scholar at the Jewish Center in Manhattan and a Beren Fellow at Yeshiva University in Israel, is not reluctant to tell us.

He reminds us that Samson, not Jesus, is a Jewish hero. He cites Samson’s prayer, “Lord God, remember me and strengthen me only this once, O God, so that with this one act of revenge I may pay back the Philistines for my two eyes.”

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” is not an acceptable moral sentiment for Jews.

The eminent Rabbi Soloveichik reminds us that genuinely Hebrew prophets “not only hated their enemies, but rather reveled in their suffering…”

He cites Samuel’s response when the defeated king of the Amalekites appealed to him with these words; “Surely the bitterness of death is past.” Samuel hacked him to pieces. The prophetess Deborah relished the gruesome death of Sisera with an “ebullient song.” He tells that genuine Jewish leaders like Esther sought not just the defeat of their enemies, but their disgrace. She insisted the bodies of Haman and his ten sons be displayed on the gallows.

The eminent Rabbi Soloveichik praises the astuteness of a Catholic nun who had told a Jewish journalist that hatred is part of the Jewish religion. “She was right” write the eminent rabbi.

He tells us the Talmud clearly states that Jews have a duty to hate a

raka,

a hopelessly wicked person.

“Judaism believes that while forgiveness is often a virtue, hate can be virtuous when one is dealing with the frightfully wicked. Rather than forgive, we can wish ill; rather than hope for repentance, we can instead hope that our enemies experience the wrath of God.”

The eminent Rabbi Soloveichik tells us that “Christianity’s founder” broke away from the Jews over this issue. “Jews hate the wicked because they believe God despises the wicked as well.”

He rejects the sentiments expressed by Jesus when He said: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. . . . Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

One wonders if any of the eminent Rabbi Soloveichik’s friends at the Yale Divinity School have ever asked if he considers Jesus to be a

raka.

(One might also wonder if there are any Christians allowed to teach at Yale Divinity School.)

Orthodox Jews add the Hebrew phrase yemach shemo whenever they mention the name of a great enemy of the Jewish nation past or present. “

Yemach shemo

” means “may his name be erased.”

Rabbi Soloveichik does not tell us if Orthodox Jews habitually add

yemach shemo

when they mention the name of Jesus.

An (Ultra?) Orthodox Jewish web site notes that “The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of ‘Jesus of Nazarene’:  He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic. He led Jews astray
into idolatry. They were sponsored by foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish worship (Sanhedrin 43a).Jesus was sexually immoral. He worshipped statues of stone (a brick is mentioned),  and he was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness and refusal to repent. (Sanhedrin 107b, Sotah 47a).3) He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh – which is also plainly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b). The eminent Rabbi Soloveichik does not mention the Orthodox Jews in Eastern Europe had interesting customs. They taught their children to spit when they passed a Christian church and repeat “thou shalt utterly detest it and thou shalt utterly abhor it, for it is a cursed thing” from Deuteronomy.

The Rabbi does not mention that the French, German and Italian Jews for many centuries, and possibly now, celebrated the Passover by cursing the Christians among whom they lived.

“[A]ccording to the custom of the Ashkenazi Jews, the curses against the Egyptians were transformed into an invective against all the nations and enemies hated by Israel, with explicit reference to the Christians.”From each of these plagues may God save us, but may they fall on our enemies”. Thus recited the formula reported by rabbi Jacob Mulin Segal, known as Maharil, active at Treviso around the last twenty years of the 14th century, in his

Sefer ha-minhagim

(“Book of Customs”), which unhesitatingly identified the adversaries of the Jewish people with the Christians, who deserved to be cursed…..

After they finished the Passover meal they recited another series of courses aimed at their Christian neighbors. The formula opened with the words

Shefoch chamatecha el ha-goim asher lo yeda’ucha

and, in the Ashkenazi ritual, …: “Vomit your anger onto the nations which refuse to recognize you, and their kingdoms, which do not invoke your name, which have devoured Jacob and destroyed his seat. Turn your anger upon them, reach them with your scorn; persecute them with fury, cause them to perish from beneath the divine heaven”.

The eminent rabbi does not mention that Jews from Babylon to France celebrated the Purim Festival in openly anti-Christian manners for centuries. They equated the defeat of Haman with the defeat of Amalek and with crucifixion of Jesus.

The Bible refers to Haman as talui, “the hanged one”. Jews traditionally, and possibly currently, referred to Jesus as “that man” or “the hanged one.”
 
I previous have written about two cases almost a thousand years apart where Jews celebrated Purim by crucifying Christians.

The Rabbi states that “not a single Jewish source asserts that God deeply desires to save all humanity, nor that He loves every member of the human race.”

Not much to add to this.  If we could only get the Evangelicals to read and understand this.  I know that accusing people[s] of “projection” can be rather passe.  But you have to admit, that no one calls people haters’ more than Jews.  Just this morning after work, I was watching a speech given by Abe Foxman on cspan2.  He was talking about Jimmy Carter and the hate that radiated from this man was intense.  He even said something about Carter having a “Southern Toothy Smile.”  Now please realize that I’m paraphrasing here but what is a “Southern Toothy smile.”  What if someone said that Foxman had a “Brooklyn Swarthy Grin.”  How well would that go over?

No, considering that the referrent in Christ’s saying was NOT to the blasphemous and Christ-killing Jews, but to the (naive, and clueless) roman soldiers, who were ‘merely following orders.’

Everyone (wrongly) assumes that Christ was forgiving his Crucifiers; (for, in knowing one’s Judean history, the Ideumeans were the ones who controlled the Pharisees and Scribes, NOT ‘real jews’ such as Christ and the Apostles’ were!) HE was not!

Does not the Bible clearly state that “I hate Thy Enemies with a PERFECT hatred”?

The LXX uses the same term ‘teleos’ for this verse in Psalms with the word ‘perfect’ as in CHrist’s dictum to “Be ye perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”

Which clearly leads to the statement by a Saint (Theodosius) of the Orthodox Church:

““Live in peace not only with your friends, but also with your enemies;
But only with your personal enemies, and not with the enemies of God.”

So, based on 20 centuries of unerring witness, one can forgive the Romans, [as they were pagans, and did not know that “they crucified the Lord of Glory” short of that one man, that (as John Wayne acted it in the Greatest Story Ever Told, said: “Truly- this was the son of God- Pilgim!”)]

Whereas, knowing they had done so, the Pharisees and the other Idumean mamzers were ‘guilty of the greater sin’....

One can never forgive a people, a race, a religion, that commits Deicide.
Nor does YHWH God, or His Son, Jesus, expect us to.

Jews are always talking about “Jew-hatred.”  They never talk about their own vicious murderous genocidal Euro-hatred.  Ever notice that?  (Rhetorical quesiton, of course — how could you not???)  Well, the Occidental Observer is taking up the slack:

The first take-home message, then, is that Jews don’t have to play by the same rules as the rest of us. In French, I have encountered the phrase “inversion accusatoire” to describe this. In English, it would translate as “accusatory inversion”, but it doesn’t come up in google searches. Googling “accusation inversion” yields only one hit:

By calling them this, it serves the double purpose of making your opinion appear sturdier and it prevents them from being able to call YOU “closed-minded”. I think that “accusation inversion” is just a handy, dishonest technique to silence opponents. It could also be called “chutzpah”. It is a kind of energy-saving, absent-minded, automatic response that doesn’t imply any projection of one’s feelings onto someone else. When called Jew-haters, we can always reply: No, YOU are the one full of hatred, but it makes us sound very childish.
Unfortunately, it isn’t only the Jews who attack us with accusations of “Jew-hatred”. The same accusation also comes from European leftists (who are doing free work for the Jews). They won’t examine any evidence that Jewish influence in politics and the media may be a problem for us and should be reduced.

There is another phenomenon that is even better than Freudian projection. It is the habit of the neocons to blame the Muslims for hating the West. If the neocons blamed us for trying to destroy Israel, it could be seen as a case of Freudian projection. They are the ones who try to destroy the West by mass immigration. But instead, they spend a huge amount of energy blaming the muslims for trying to destroy the West. Maybe it could be called “Freudian translatory projection” or something like that. Although it isn’t really a subconscious psychological phenomenon. It looks more like crazy political scheming.

I have no doubt the guy posting those interracial porn pix is a Jew.  Interracial porn produced by and/or circulated by Jewish men is in large part an ethnic attack on the Euro race, exactly as the Jewish 1965 Third-Worldization Immigration bill was.  One thing that needs to happen is for someone expert at photoshopping to start inserting Stars of David in these black-on-blonde porn pix so as to clearly identify the woman as Jewish.  In this particular pic a clearly visible Star of David couldn’t be placed around her neck but think of all the places a highly visible Star of David tattoo could be placed (just let your imagination run wild .... I hope I don’t have to spell it out futher ....).  Once photoshopped, the porn pic should be recirculated around the ‘net.  This should be done with as many black-on-blonde hard-core porn pix as possible — flood the internet with them.  And not just black-on-blonde:  also do Arab man on Jewish woman, the woman enjoying the most humiliating positions possible and clearly identified in the photo as a Jewish woman.  Make the Arab man wear an Arab headdress for example, or some other sign that makes it clear this is the sexual subjugation of a Jewish woman by an Arab Moslem man.  This is what the Jewish producers and circulators of this black-on-blonde stuff are doing to Euros, namely rubbing sexual subjugation of Euro women to Negro men in the faces of Euros, especially Euro men.  Let’s give the Jews a taste of their own medicine.  Two can play that game.  We didn’t start it because racially/ethnoculturally we Euros are not the kind of disgusting filth some of these Jews are who engage in this sort of thing.  But we’re quick learners — especially when taught by such experts.  So all you guys adept at photoshopping out there, let’s get started on altering some of this stuff and re-cirulating it, shall we?

The other thing is, to not do it is to discriminate against Jewish women in the sense it symbolizes the withholding of prime-quality orgasms from them, the kind of orgasms Alon Ziv assured us can be had only by shagging a Negro man.  Why should Euro women be the only ones to get these Negro-induced orgasms?  Jewish women deserve them too, and therefore to not represent Jewish women in these black-on-white porn pix is highly discriminatory.  In fact, it’s anti-Semitic.  Photoshoppers who add Stars of David around these whores’ necks then re-circulate the pix around the internet, therefore, will be fighting the good fight against anti-Semitism.  Abe Foxman should applaud them, and they should be added to the ranks of the “Righteous Gentiles” who do good things, mitzvahs, for Jews.

I find it funny that nobody here seems to think about the fact that maybe the jews have been fucked by the rest of the world left and right. After the blood lie, the murders, genocide, slander, and all kinds of things the europeans never had to endure, maybe the jews are entitled to a grudge? Also, the story about jews crucifying christians on purim is a lie. I wouldn’t be surprised if much of the rest of the “reporting” is also a fabrication. As a religion scholar, I could call bullshit on a lot of this.

It is rather silly to interview one or two rabbis and quote a small portion of scripture (much of which is christian scripture, too) and use it as a definitive example of all of jewish ideology. The writer is a hack and a liar, not to mention an idiot and a fool.

As for the Jew who would not forgive the repentant Nazi, the story is well known among many jews and religion scholars. The reason a jew would not forgive such a person, is that jews do not believe that you can forgive someone for a wrong committed against someone else. As such, no person can forgive someone for wrongs committed against many, many people. They do not even believe that God forgives you for wrongs committed against another. You have to go and seek out that individual’s forgiveness yourself.

If you do not get this forgiveness, however, that does not mean that one is barred from heaven. The Talmud states that there was no forgiveness in the generation of the flood, but there was remorse. So even though nobody would forgive each other, they all attained the World to Come, because they all felt remorse. That very Jewish message doesn’t seem to jive with this article, which is less authoritative on Jewish belief than the Talmud. It’s also a much kinder message than the Christian one, since most Christian imagine the generation of the flood as damned.

Jews also don’t believe in eternal damnation for anyone, compare that to Christianity’s belief in eternal damnation.

Here is a Q and A from a woman to a rabbi about forgiveness for the murder of her daughter. It doesn’t match up with the absolutes of this article:

Question:

I am the mother of a murdered daughter who has written a book as a dedication, memoir and hopefully, work of inspiration. Included in the book, at my request, the murderer has written of the last five weeks of my daughters life, including her horrific death.

Why did I request this? Because I had not been in my right state of mind for five years after the killing. My daughter went missing and was buried beneath the mansion’s garage by her brief boyfriend who was then eighteen. She was nineteen, and so the title, “Forever Nineteen.” The last section, written through me by the incarcerated murderer, is titled, “Five Weeks To Forever.”

Before making this request, I had already been writing for five years, but in that sixth year I learned many unknown things. With time, I began to feel a sort of forgiveness toward the killer. Not for his horrid crime, but for his flawed humanity. I wanted to keep hating him, but I could not. I don’t understand my own feelings. But I feel compelled to continue. Now many people despise me for my forgiveness.

True, it is up to G?d to forgive. But for now, here on earth, am I so wrong to feel this way? Should I feel hatred and spite as I once did towards a brutal killer? Should I return to rehearse in my mind, again and again, the execution of this young murderer? Should I feel as people demand that I feel? Am I wrong for feeling forgiveness?

Response:

No, you are not wrong. You are human, exquisitely human. It is the nature of empathy, teach our sages, to neutralize hatred.1

This is the way we were created. If not, humanity could not survive. As soon as we come to know the other person, we enter that person, and a small piece of that person enters us. As we forgive ourselves, again and again, so we will forgive that other person. Oh, how complex, how deep the labyrinths of the human heart.

There are times when forgiveness is sin. There is evil in our world that must be eradicated, without mercy, without looking back. We are commanded to destroy the memory of Amalek, to stamp out any vestige of him. We cannot allow even the smallest particle of such disease to enter our spirit’s bloodstream, lest it poison us as well, lest we become its conspirators, in action or in silence.

The evil of this man is not of that sort. It was the evil, as you say, of a flawed humanity. One that perhaps, through compassion and understanding, can attain some sort of healing—perhaps in this life, perhaps in another. You are not letting him off the hook-as you write, only G-d can do that. But G-d will not hold it against you for allowing compassion to enter your heart for such a human being. After all, we are all flawed, all of humanity. If there is no hope for this one human being, how is there hope for all the rest?

But if there is hope for a bitter soul to surrender to compassion, for fierce hatred to subside to understanding, for blood-enmity to give way to forgiveness, then there is hope for all of humankind, and for this angry world to find harmony and peace.

“At first,” the Midrash tells us, “G?d thought to create the world with strict justice. He saw, however, that such a world could not stand. And so, He made compassion a partner with justice. And the world stood.”

May that be soon, sooner than we can imagine, when “death will be swallowed up forever and G?d will wipe the tears off every face,” amen.

I hope that this post has adequately proven the extreme lack of credibility in this article.

Thank G-d for ummmm’s post!  It brought sanity to a discussion which seemed to me to be completely out of control.  Yeah, I’m a Jew, but I’m also a human being with both good and bad charactaristics like any typical human being.  G-d gives just about any individual of any nation or religion the capacity to think on his / her own about the pros and cons of hating versus loving, and between grudging and forgiveness.  While it is true that there are some very harsh passages in Psalms and other classic Hebrew texts, love and forgiveness are also very important aspects of Judaism.  If you read enough of the classic texts and commentaries, you will find that there is an abundance of benevolent teaching to counterballance the seemingly malevolent stuff. 

One can twist any religion’s teaching all around for virtually any purpose when quoting out of context.  A very popular motive for quoting out of context is to demonize all the people associated with a given religion.  This is intellectually lazy because it gives one the luxury of not having to deal with people as individuals.  For example, I know a Jew who makes nasty generalizations about entire popluations (Iranians, Arabs, Muslems, etc.), and he does it by quoting little bits of the Koran.  I argue with him that he should not slam an entire nation or religion, just as he and I don’t want to be hated just for being Jewish.  I remind him that our books have a lot of crazy passages, too—especially when taken out of context and not counterballanced with the other passages which act as safeguards against extremism. 

Reis says that there were a couple of cases where Jews crucified Christians.  I have not heard about these cases before, but I can assure you that if such homocides happened, the perps were not practicing Judaism.  Crucifixion was a Pagan Roman form of capital punishment, not a Jewish one.  While Jewish courts in ancient times reserved the right to use corporal and capital punishments in certain cases, they often tried to give convicts every benefit of the doubt possible lest the court become a murderous one—G-d forbid! 

For the record, I have never heard a Jew say “may his name be erased” or any equivalent phrase when mentioning Jesus of Nazareth.  I have, however, heard Jews invoke such a curse when mentioning Adolf Hitler.  I see a paradox in this sentiment.  One of the Six Rememberances found in many Jewish prayer books is to blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.  Amalek’s attack on the Israelites was completely unprovoked, and his forces especially targeted the most vulnerable migrants who lagged behind.  How can you “blot out a memory” when you are reminded in daily prayers, “do not forget.”  My understanding of this paradox is that we have to remember Hitler’s and Amalek’s evil to prevent it from repeating itself.

“The only possible explanation for his convictions” is that he himself hates Jews who voluntarily join religions whose followers have oppressed Jews in the name of their god. Jews disdain “Jews for Jesus” because we endured centuries of oppression over our refusal to convert to Christianity. Thus Christianity contrasts with Jewish identity (both racial/cultural and religious) far more than being a pimp or a pornographer or a doctor or architect. Yes, one can be a Jewish pimp. Several of the comments in support of the above article are full of vulgarity. I guess that means that Christians have a deep-seated love of vulgarity, which must be a requirement in their religion. Right?.......
