Liddle’s PC Gasket Still Blown

It’s past time he had a PC overhaul, but until then let’s all enjoy the show:

It is traditional for sopping wet journalists like myself to avail themselves of a useful get-out clause when obliged to defend the BNP’s right to freedom of speech: that court cases such as this benefit the party, giving it publicity. I’ve trotted this sort of thing out before — but it now seems dishonest. It implies that the BNP was in some way complicit in the charges brought against its leading members. Clearly it wasn’t. Nick Griffin was prosecuted for speaking his mind. There’s no get-out clause this time.

I think the underlying similarity in the M.O. of the Politically Correct and of Muslims is interesting.

Rod Liddle is an interesting specimen. Ostensibly, he is demonstrating that paths exist even from core liberalism to white ethnocentrism. Consider that on September 25th 2002, when he wrote this article for the Guardian. It was considered too partisan even by the BBC. It’s a long way from defending Nick Griffin’s right to speak his mind.

However, it is probably best to view Liddle with caution. How far he has really travelled on the golden path is not known. It is possible that he is only making a career move, carving himself a niche as the unabashed asker of awkward questions. He hasn’t asked the one question that would prove his sincerity to me: Why does the liberal establishment need Western Man to give his homelands to all humanity?

When I see that I will know that he has really understood where we are going and that it is not what we want, and that something must be done to end it peacefully and politically.

GW, no doubt you’re right - I think my title says it all. Liddle doesn’t strike me as a proto-genophile, but rather as someone with curiousity and balls.
