Lee is fine.  He’s just waiting for me to suggest a day.  The delay is because I had to take a few days out to care for my dad, and now I’m back I’ve gone and caught my wife’s cold!

But there can be little doubt which word won the prize for most important adjective. 2009 was the year in which “global” swept the rest of the political lexicon into obscurity. There were “global crises” and “global challenges”, the only possible resolution to which lay in “global solutions” necessitating “global agreements”. Gordon Brown actually suggested something called a “global alliance” in response to climate change.

I disagree, the first decade of the 21st century has been all about ‘Race’ by a mile.  Maybe race will now recede to be replaced by all things Global (‘Depopulation’) all of which is being championed by the BBC (media) with religious fervor.

This situation is crumbling fast and the Ms. Daly’s of this world know it.  How long have the media journalists known about all this?  It would be hilarious if they didn’t. (know about it)

LaRouoche site is very good, the quality of his documentaries and videos and his evaluation and analysis of the economic system and why it is breaking down.
Bush Sr had him thrown in jail when he advocated a policy of unified Germany creating and Western Europe creating an energy and trade alliance with the new Eastern European states. But US and Britain opposed it as they would lose their dominion and control over Europe. 

He hits Soros hard which is great.

Actually I don’t know why Griffin and Jobbik don’t attack Soros he is the archetypical villain which BNP and other nationalists groups say they are against globalism, economic subversion, open borders, liberal causes all of which Soros is at the forefront supporting.

I’ve just finished listening to Helga Zepp-Larouche’s exposition on the ‘Malthusian Solution’ and the supposed nexus of the British Empire (which I take to be Larouchian code for Zionism), the ‘Klima’ lobby and the Optimum Population Trust and can only conclude that these folk are a few bob short of a full quid.

Ms Zepp-Larouche’s ‘Schiller Institut’ website includes an even more astonishing video presentation narrated by a Ms Bernstein which puts forward the proposition that QE II is following in the footsteps of her uncle in advocating a global programme of genocide that surpasses even that proposed by Ay-dolph Hitler himself.

I’m aware there are cranks and partisans on the AGW side as well but, really, can anybody take seriously a twerp like Larouche who promotes a new economic world order based on a ‘four-power plan’ involving Russia, China, India and the USA (!) and which does not at the same time call for a serious effort at population reduction in the third world?

These people are mad.

Extraordinary blog in to-day’s Telegraph Thursday 14th January 2010, where economics editor Edmund Conway has to furiously back peddle from the idea that there is such a thing as a New World Order.

If it wasn’t so serious it would be hilarious, that he has let the cat out of the bag reporting the idea of a future cashless society (but not linking it to a NWO.)  I wish I could have seen his face when he realised what he had done.

Does he really think we’re so stupid?

Parts of the Edmund Conway piece almost sound like sarcasm intended to assert the opposite.  Look at the following for example:  it sounds almost as if, rather than ridiculing claims of an NWO, he’s using subtle sarcasm to ridicule NWO-denial:

So the conspiracy theorists are right:  there is a push towards international government – but to suggest they could overreach each nation’s individual national interests is really endowing them with far more capability than they have.

In part, the rumours are associated with the fact that some people give the impression of being able to pull levers behind the scenes to influence policy.  Take, for instance, the fact that Goldman Sachs has so many of its alumni in leading political positions around the world.  But while it is fair to say that by exporting so many high-flying bankers to governments around the world Goldman may have marginally skewed financial regulation in their favour, to suggest that this is merely the tip of a broader NWO iceberg is frankly bonkers.

Throughout my time covering economics and politics for a number of newspapers I have come to the conclusion not that there is a carefully orchestrated global plan being masterminded by leading politicians (be it to create a NWO or, in some other way, to dupe people out of their liberty or prosperity) but that the politicians and policymakers have less of a clue about what to do than the rest of us.  It’s been obvious every step of the way through this financial crisis – and that to me is actually rather scarier than the idea of a conspiracy.  Are these people, who have stumbled their way from one disaster to another, really capable of engineering a global conspiracy, overturning peoples’ deep local tribalism?  Not a chance.
None of this is to deny that there are people who would rather like to have a world government.  But for the most part this is not for megalomanic reasons but because it would (they think) make preventing financial crises and wars a bit easier. 

Nor is it to deny that there aren’t a few mysterious institutions which satisfy our appetite for salacious stories about internecine international conspiracies:  the obvious example being the Bilderberg Group, an intensely secret conference of world “elite” designed to allow them to get in touch discretely.  The Bilderberg meetings (to which I should add that I’ve sadly never been invited) do happen; indeed, George Osborne and Peter Mandelson are among those invited to some of their recent shindigs.  But from what I understand, and from the evidence of old minutes, the meetings are 1. pretty boring affairs and 2. regarded as pretty marginal, unimportant networking events by the civil servants and policymakers back home who actually construct policy.  All the same, I understand why stories about these kinds of conspiracies are compelling.  But this owes more to our in-built human proclivity to see the world in simple narrative terms and our inability to contextualise the far more chaotic reality than to any real evidence either way.  Plus, it makes for great books and films.

P.S.  One of the issues a lot of people had with ditching cash in favour of electronic money is that cash is anonymous.  But, as more than a couple of people commenting below the piece pointed out, every sterling banknote or dollar bill has a serial number:  if the Government so desired it would not be all that difficult to start tracking our cash purchases.

In any case there most certainly is an NWO, at least as much as there is an “Al Qaeda.”  Part of it involves the intention to race-mix whites wherever in the world they are traditionally, naturally found, so they’ll be changed into an extension of the world’s immense brown mass and ruling classes will no longer be plagued by white-nonwhite racial strife (and Jews will get their two-millennia-hoped-for vengeance on the Euro race).  Anyone who doesn’t see that that’s an explicit goal in the minds of many of the powerful who are running things is blind as a bat. 

Is it an explicit goal in the minds of all the underlings, henchmen, and dupes who make the wheels turn — all the cogs in the NWO machine?  No because a lot of people are blind as bats and do stupid stuff like actually believe all the “anti-hate” propaganda. 

Is it an explicit goal in the minds of 99.999999999999999% of Jews who take part in politics?  Is it an explicit goal in the “minds” of 99.99999999999999% of clueless women bimbos who take part in “liberal” politics (just picture every woman MEP and you’ll see what I mean)?  Is it an explicit goal in the minds of the top leaders of the NWO, such as every member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderbergers, such as the Crook and the Chimp (Presidents Bush père and fils), and so forth?  The answer to all those is:  Yes, God damned straight it is.

I typed out the above in a hurry, didn’t proof-read it, and on re-reading it now there are questionable turns of phrase, such as the following,

which should have been phrased differently, but my main point stands.

New World Order aka Globalisation or Third Way or Brave New World.

The newly emerged (neo) liberalism is the spearheading a two pronged offensive comprising of what was traditionally regarded as the left and right wing of politics, Capitalism and Communism.

It is this combination of (a new left) allied with Western capitalism that has evolved since the ending of the Soviet Union.  A deal has been struck.
