Samuel Francis on Martin Luther King Jr Day

Samuel Francis (a man who actually earned his doctorate!) on this America’s most sacred of holidays:

[T]he true meaning of the holiday is that it serves to legitimize the radical social and political agenda that King himself favored and to delegitimize traditional American social and cultural institutions—not simply those that supported racial segregation but also those that support a free market economy, an anti-communist foreign policy, and a constitutional system that restrains the power of the state rather than one that centralizes and expands power for the reconstruction of society and the redistribution of wealth. In this sense, the campaign to enact the legal public holiday in honor of Martin Luther King was a small first step on the long march to revolution, a charter by which that revolution is justified as the true and ultimate meaning of the American identity. In this sense, and also in King’s own sense, as he defined it in his speech at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, the Declaration of Independence becomes a “promissory note” by which the state is authorized to pursue social and economic egalitarianism as its mission, and all institutions and values that fail to reflect the dominance of equality—racial, cultural, national, economic, political, and social—must be overcome and discarded.

By placing King—and therefore his own radical ideology of social transformation and reconstruction—into the central pantheon of American history, the King holiday provides a green light by which the revolutionary process of transformation and reconstruction can charge full speed ahead. Moreover, by placing King at the center of the American national pantheon, the holiday also serves to undermine any argument against the revolutionary political agenda that it has come to symbolize. Having promoted or accepted the symbol of the new dogma as a defining—perhaps the defining—icon of the American political order, those who oppose the revolutionary agenda the symbol represents have little ground to resist that agenda.

Theodore Pappas blew the whistle on MLK’s plagiarism about 15 years ago yet few are aware of it. I find it very irritating the way the media and public officials insist on calling MLK “Dr King”. It’s almost as if they are afraid of leaving out the “Dr” title. There is certainly one heck of a contrast between the way the media observe MLK Day and traditional holidays like Christmas and Columbus Day.

I should point out to Americans here that it is not only in the US that MLK is regarded as a saint. I was indoctrinated by a New Zealand public/state school into believing he was one of the greatest men of the 20th century - only Gandhi and Sir Edmund Hillary gave him competition. In Canada each year at this time the media point out how far the US has to go to realise his dream and occasionally there are even calls for a similar holiday in Canada.

I study political science in the Netherlands and even in my college there is a large photograph behind glass of the ‘saint’. I actually plan to do something about it, by which I mean I’ll write the proper authorities to ask them wheter or not they are aware of his plagiarism.

King’s elevation to diety status serves the managerial class.  But it was King’s threat to the managerial class that I believe got him killed.  The last book King wrote proposed a citizen’s dividend which would have disintermediated the government’s welfare bureaucracy.  He was a useful idiot who got out of hand and they offed him, IMHO.

I wish you luck with that, Micheal.  Those who bring up King’s plagiarism can expect to be viciously attacked. At Amazon’s website someone reviewing the Pappas book Plagiarism and The Culture War : The Writings of Martin Luther King, Jr, and Other Prominent Americans makes the following remarks:

Only a whining, trifling, idiot would rant and obsessively ponder over the works of a man who was MURDERED and has been DEAD for 36 years; who wasn’t regarded or claimed as a “writer” by any means as more than the guy was a PREACHER. Pappas has obviously missed the mark of King’s OVERALL message as well as the other reviewers who have taken such a fanatical and psychotic delight in bashing King in their covert RACISM. Pappas, ask your Maker(Satan) for a real brain and not a plagiarized one. Moron!

The Rockford Institute put out a book edited by Theodore Pappas called The Martin Luther King, Jr., Plagiarism Story. The book is filled with articles showing the extend to which King’s defenders would go to to cover-up his plagiarism, then smear those who insisted on the truth, and finally, make excuses for this ‘God’ who is beyond criticism.

I was disappointed, though not surprised, that lewrockwell.com decided not to include some of its classic articles that were critical of King in today’s edition. Instead they are emphasising his anti-war stance and after years of ridiculing King they’re actually praising him now. Rockwell and the others at that once great site are going all out to win over the far left.

Is anyone else having trouble posting here lately? I’m having to submit each post several times and even then some of the posts don’t show up for half an hour or so.

I couldn’t agree more.  I used to visit that site almost daily—it even (in a very indirect, roundabout way) helped lead to my “awakening” regarding multiculturalism and racism—but it has now been months since I’ve been there.

As for the Sam Francis piece, it is outstanding. Unfortunately, arguing against the cannonization of MLK is a thankless task, like trying to teach calculus to a golden retreiver.

He also liked white whores, especially in pairs. He even liked to beat whores, when the spirt moved him of course.

So, lets see, we have not a single white man that has a holiday in this country, Washington and Lincoln were removed a lumped into something formless called “President’s Day.” But we do have a holiday for a lecher, whoremonger, and plagiarist.

Isn’t democracy great.

I thought Amazon vetted every review before it went online?

That “review” was nothing but a rant and it seems highly unlikely that the reviewee has actually even read the book.  I cannot understand why they would allow such nonsense onto the site.

Liars defend the gains they have made with a wreckless vigour perfectly foreign to those who build on truth.

While I was stationed overseas earlier this year (2006), the chaplain service on base dedicated a special day to the memory of “Dr.” King. Instead of a sermon, we watched a 30-minute video detailing the accomplishments of MLK. I think this all goes to show how indistinct the church and state spheres of influence have become in the military chaplain service. It seems to me the church is one of those institutions that has to be discarded, since besides the scriptures teaching that people are all equally endowed to God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, does not cater to this new American social order.

I have no doubt that, prior to screening of the MLK hagiography, viewers were informed that MLK’s PhD thesis was plagiarized from the research of the interestingly-named Dr. Jack Boozer.

Al-That was classic-I spilt my scotch in admiration -trying to inform “Negros"that they are not the base intellect that all progress stems from is oft-times lost in our world of PC.He-He!!  Bottom line-If you don’t own him, kick him off your property[neighborhood] ,If you are not related to him,do NOT feel obligated to pay for his “education”,and keep your liberally taught daughters aware.Ah,Shit-I just gotta say it-Niggers are Niggers are Niggers.

Whats wrong with you? Might as well learn the old testament and disregard the new one. Capish? The new order doesn’t teach the equal rights of all citizens, rather the superiority of the chosen race and nothing else. You’ve touched on something I have often wondered myself, whos teaching the religion the so called christian-zionists are learning? I highly suspect is being taught directly from Jerusalem by jews, not christians.
OK all this zionists always like to come up with quotations of the old testament in which israelis are ordered to kill anyone not worshiping their GOD and to clear their land of said element. Here’s my counter argument, READ the bible and read often and carefully.
What about all the quotations on leviticus about foreigners living on israeli land? what about the fact that in said leviticus foreigners are NOT bared from participating in holidays and sacrifices, provided the male is circumcised? what about the passage in which GOD himself instructs the israelis to not hold a grudge against egypt forever and to indeed treat them as neighbours and remenber humbly that once they were their slaves and now not do unto others as jews would not like done unto them?
I’m sorry I don’t provide links but any reader of the bible should have no problem finding this in the old testament. Since I don’t have a bible in english I wont attempt to translate by myself.

Deut. 23 24 is a reminder to Jews to be humble, slay their enemies, but not the whole population of the area. According to the scriptures the Edomites are related to Jews and the Egyptians are welcome in Israel after a third generation from the exodus. Why aren’t Egyptians allowed to immigrate to Israel? It’s there in the scriptures. Deut. 23
