The Accusation of RacismThe Accusation of Racism By Robert Reis
It applies to a division of mankind possessing traits that are transmissible by descent and sufficient to characterize it as a distinct human type. “Racism” became part of the English vocabulary in 1936. The 2007 edition of the WordWeb Dictionary defines “racism” as “the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races.” A “racist” is defined as a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others. A prejudice is a preconceived adverse opinion, leaning or judgment formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge has been accumulated and dispassionately evaluated. An adverse opinion, leaning or judgment formed with just grounds and after sufficient knowledge has been accumulated and dispassionately evaluated is not a prejudice. Therefore a person who has formed his opinion, leaning or judgment about human races with just grounds and after sufficient knowledge has been accumulated and dispassionately evaluated is not a racist. Is the definition of racism and racist that appears in dictionaries correct? I fear not. Any American, or even someone exposed to many hours of American television, quickly realizes that it is permissible for the black and Hispanic characters on police dramas to assume that American society is dominated by prejudiced white people who cannot be trusted by blacks and Hispanics. Entire sections of the white community are habitually demonized as dangerous racists who must be humiliated or killed by the dramas’ black protagonists. Who can forget Eddie Murphy’s line in “48 Hours”, ‘I am the most dangerous thing in your nightmares, a black man with a badge and a gun.’ More recently, I watched a Will Smith ‘comedy’ in which he and his black policeman partner gun down a group of Ku Klux Klan drug dealers in front of a burning cross. This week I endured three episodes of Law and Order. In the first show, the villainy of a black pedophile kidnapper was mitigated by his death from accidental contact with weaponized anthrax that a sociopathic white scientist was selling to terrorist. The second show featured a rich white tax evader who was using his philanthropic organization as a cover to recruit mxinority prostitute whom he sometimes murdered. The last show featured an otherwise noble black policeman who is tricked by his racist white partner into participating in and covering up his partner’s murder of a homosexual. How many of the viewers of these films and TV show have asked the obvious question, “if America is dominated by white racists, why does the entertainment industry churn out dramas and comedies in which white people are demonized? How many of the worldwide viewing audience of TV shows like C.S.I. are aware that they frequently base their shows on actual crimes but reverse the races of the perpetrators and the victims? Several years ago a black female nurse hit a white man with her car when she was drunk. She drove home with the victim stuck in the windshield of her car. She and her family left the victim stuck in the windshield of her car in the garage of her house while he took several days to die. C.S.I. altered the race and sex and occupation of the killer. He became a white attorney who was a graduate of a Roman Catholic high school. I forget if the victim was transformed into a minority. Several year ago a black woman murdered a pregnant black and cut her baby from her womb and presented the child to her boyfriend as their baby. A crime drama was based on this crime with some changes. A rich white man wanted to present a living baby to his wife who was unaware of the plot. He and his white accomplices arranged the murder and kidnapping. With entertainment like this, is it any wonder that some blacks believe that they are justified in screaming racial epithets at white people passing through their neighborhoods, or throwing bottles or rocks at them, or even pulling randomly selected white people from cars and beating them? We have the word “xenophobe”. It means the hatred of foreigners. But blacks have not thrown rocks at me because I was a foreigner. They threw rocks because I was riding a bicycle while white. I determined this from the defamatory and abusive words they were shouting at me at the time. It seems to me that the word racist was created in such a way that it could not be applied to blacks who attack whites because they simply hate them. I suggest that the definition of racist and racism should be changed. A racist ought to be defined as a person who is willing to do harm to people of another race because of their race and regardless of their behavior. Racism ought to be defined as a belief or system of beliefs that justify doing harm to people of another race because of their race and irrespective of their behavior.

Robert, this is a superior definition to the one in current parlance. One problem though will be defining ‘harm’. Are policies based on the belief (backed up by however much data) that Negroes are on average naturally less intelligent than Whites (which may cause Negroes- or even Whites!- psychological harm) racist? 3

For more mainstream eyes and ears though, try to make the rhetoric a bit softer - I know it’s hell to self-censor, but we’ve got to play a bit by their rules if we are to have our voice heard and not completely censored. For instance, in the above comment you could, instead of writing the phrase “[White] genetic purity” write “genetic continuity.” Instead of saying White culture is “superior to all others” say “White culture is generally more advanced and stable than all others.” Instead of writing about “reimposing traditional American cultural norms” wrote something like “reinvigorating the traditional American spirit.” Obama voters are not “putrid,” they are “misguided.” Non-Whites are not “racial/cultural inferiors” but are “largely racially and culturally incompatible with White norms”...etc etc. Again, I know it’s terrible and dishonest to self-censor and stifle the inner rhetorical fire but White nationalism absolutely must moderate its rhetoric a bit if it ever hopes to gain a wider following. 4

Every time I read about sexual assault by black males against white women, I think “thank God for black on white rape!” Allow me to explain. My mother was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, but found herself at 18 years of age in the deep south (actually what we call the Low Country, which isn’t the deep south AFAIK, but I digress). She had no experience whatsoever with black males. She was in a bar, and was accosted by a large black male. His advances were, intimidating, to say the least. She recalls being terrified at his behavior. Afraid to leave the bar, she approached what she described as the biggest, toughest looking SOB in the bar. You guessed it, this was my dad. So, if not for predatory sexual behavior by blacks, neither I nor my sister would ever have been born. So thank God for black on white rape! Another anecdote while I’m at it. I remember vividly when my father faced down a would-be black rapist. We lived in a gentrifying neighborhood, right on the border between upscale whites and the ghetto. (I mean literally; on our side of the street were the town houses my dad had refurbished (burnt out shells), and on the other street was what you get when you give similar architecture to blacks (why painting a house is so difficult for blacks I’ll never understand)) Anyway, a black woman comes SCREAMING around the corner, “he gon’ RAPE me, he gon’ RAPE me.” My parents bring her into the house, and my dad goes out onto the sidewalk. Across the street is a shouting, agitated black man, waving around a large revolver. I don’t think he knew my dad had a pistol in his hand, as it was a large caliber derringer and he held it concealed. In any case, something about my dad just standing there staring at him from across the street, apparently unarmed, convinced the black man to leave. He made a few death threats, and then left. Not that this kind of thing was common in my neighborhood. Strangely, it was a sort of demilitarized zone for feral black males, as we rarely saw them. Go further into the ghetto and they could be found - mostly large roving bands of feral black youth (I and my friends (mostly black) were chased several times by scores of black youths on some of the few times we ventured too far into black territory), but it seemed there was a kind of understanding that they were to keep away from white areas. But we all know anecdotes are inherently weak evidence, so YMMV. 11

Indeed, the art of connotation-loading is the art of engineering words as pheromones. These “words” are emitted and the higher brain functions are over-ridden by more primitive brain structures rendering rational interpretation impractical. The word “racism” has a constructive definition that is independent of any hostility or belief in superiority and this is the “hook” that allows its wielder to drag into an otherwise rational thought about race the emotive connotations. This is done to the point that dictionaries dispense with the real definition and just say the emotive connotation is the definition, leaving us bereft of words to convey what “racism” should in constructive communication. Sophisticates then resort to perversions like “racialism” trying to escape the connotations, but these are subject to the critique of all neologisms and their very use legitimizes the mutilation of the more directly constructive word “racism”. 15

Its connotative meaning definitely does overwhelms any denotative meaning it might have had. White people have so long and so extensively lived with that word (which is equally pejorative and as much an insult as “asshole” or “nigger”) being used against them or their coethnics that its effectiveness has worn off considerably. IMO, it’s time to start ridiculing and laughing at anyone brazen enough to employ that secular religious Communist smear term. If accused of racism, one could respond with something like this: “Okay, I got cooties, too. Now that we’ve dispensed with the grade-school insults, maybe we can discuss the issue like adults. 17

It’s just another brick to throw in drive-by verbal (or written) assaults at us. If it isn’t a prelude to (A) a fair-minded academic discussion or (B) violence, then just call the person making the attack a “racist” right back and add a “bigot” or two, and denounce him or her for opposing the worthy goal of a slur-free society (if you can stomach making an attack from the left—always the best place from which to operate for street-fighting of this nature). There are so many hearty and meaty insults to hurl back (that do not border on actual racism) that none of us should be reduced to silence in these circumstances. That’s all “racist” demands, after all—“shut up.” It is amazing how much energy goes into analyzing verbal bricks when the hurler doesn’t have any idea what he or she means, except it makes us wince or cringe. Stop wincing, whinging, whining, cringing, explaining, and defending. Use passive-aggressive techniques if possible and, if not, launch your own drive-by verbal assault. All useful techniques have been documented on this web site. We have people in California we call bigots whenever we see them, and demand of them, “Done any white-bashing lately?” They haven’t figured out yet that they need to apologize, and our decibel range overwhelms them even after 15 years. But once a fellow has some judgment based on actual experience, it seems the culture wants to disallow him from using that experience, and intelligent judgment from it, to guide his life. This is irrational. If a shopkeeper notices that one racial group is doing a lot of stealing in his store (say, blacks) but not the Asian kids who come in, he would naturally exclude the blacks or watch them more carefully. That would now be from post-judice; actual experience. Yet the modern world will still call it “prejudice” and not give much approval to it. This is an incorrect use of the word. People have to be able to learn from their experiences and exercise their own judgment or else we’re not really human any more. Even an amoeba or a possum has to learn from it’s experience and be able to use its judgment, or it will die. It seems at this point, it is impossible for anybody to actually be “prejudiced” against blacks, because they’ve been here too long and everybody has some experience with them, or has heard reliable testimony, which should be considered a legitimate for of guidance. Maybe before the first boatload arrived, say, before there was any actual experience, it was prejudice. Now we know blacks generally. So there is no pre-judice possible. Just my 2 cents I guess. 25

Here’s something vaguely apposite that I just posted at the CHRONICLES website (I have to post under the pseudonym “Arthur Pendleton” as I have been declared, as earlier at takimag and elsewhere, persona non grata there), in response to this statement, “The New York Times recently said ‘nativists are finished’”, and some followups:

Sadly, the NYT is correct. I was saying the same thing back in 94, after a Federal judge set aside the democratic will of the people of CA (many of us being very “un-clueless”, though the number of us old-stock Americans here in CA continuously dwindles), as evidenced by our support for Prop 187, to determine our own demographic destiny, at least wrt being overrun by illegal aliens. Many movement “conservatives” hated 187, and thought it would alienate hispanics from the GOP, foolishly failing to realize that it is the GOP’s conservatism itself, however tepid, that alienates hispanics.
We nativists (I prefer the term ‘racial nationalist’ to describe my own views) have indeed lost the USA, at least if we were ever thinking about ‘taking back’ the whole 50 states, and reimposing traditional American cultural norms. That does not mean we have lost the immigration battle - far from it. The worse the economy gets, the more restrictionist sentiment grows. I even know two putrid Obama voters, who nevertheless are against amnesty, and immigration more generally (which is hypocritical of them, as their opposition to immigration, I happen to know, is mainly cultural, and yet they supported Obama in part as an idiotic and pathetic gesture of ‘post-racial’ goodwill - from whence does such white weakness originate?). And conservatives at the grassroots are now fully awakened to the threat of immigration (which is racial change, though everyone avoids saying this, including at CHRONICLES), and overwhelmingly opposed.
Where the NYT, and all other race-leftists, from Marxists and black nationalists, to libertarians, Christianists, and even paleoconservatives, are wrong is in thinking that the Third World demographic colonization and conquest of the US somehow means that white racialism here is dead. Ha hahahahahaha! Far from it, people! We, the authentic Right, the one that everybody wishes would just go away, because we are akin to a guilty conscience, for the Right, and the Real Threat for the Left, as well as their minority ‘clients’ and allies, are growing leaps and bounds, both in numbers as well as in theoretical sophistication and media presentation.
How well I remember the 80s, when it seemed there were no serious racialists or even American nationalists, with only “last-gasp” holdouts at THE MANKIND QUARTERLY and some vulgarians at INSTAURATION (though the editor, Wilmot Robertson, was one of the most important rightist thinkers of the past half-century). Today, there are legions of us, possesed of a degree of sophistication unimaginable in the postwar Klan or similar groups. Today’s racialists are not about “keeping down them n——”, but recognize the link between the white race and Western civilization, and know that our civilization, superior to all others, will not survive being integrated with our racial/cultural inferiors.
