The Political Cesspool

Well, if we were to start an on-line broadcast operation (and we are) I don’t think I would associate it with human waste. Not intentionally! I suppose it takes all sorts. Anyhow, the programme list for The Political Cesspool looks more interesting than the name would suggest.

Early this evening (UK time) Dr Tom Sunic circularised me with the link to his TPC interview, which was recorded in Croatia and is scheduled for broadcast at 7.00pm CST. MR readers who catch the broadcast are definitely invited to post their impressions to the thread below.

If not quite with TPC’s effluent-chic we, too, are venturing into the exciting world of sound. Next week, in fact. Again, the MO will be in-depth political interviews, conducted for us by the inimitable and ingenious Søren Renner. He will begin with MR folk but, we hope, spread his wings far and wide from there. I’ve drawn the short straw for Interview 1, which will doubtless make everybody who comes after look very good indeed.

This name stinks. Who wants to admit that they read or listen to, “The Political Cesspool”? Not me, I’ve been close to a cesspool before and it’s really gross. Even thinking about it makes me gag.

I wish you well, but keep always in the forefront that audio needs be more immediately acceptable than the written word. I’m sure you’ve looked at every angle, but never underestimate the power of the written word or the damage inflicted by a careless comment overheard.

I have every confidence in you guys.

the written word is necessary and good especially because MR is more than simply a news portal but audio & video is also becoming a necessity these days if you want to get some attention and increase your audience.

I.E. if you make or edit a video and post it on Youtube chances are thousands of people will see it, if your video can serve as a tool to promote your website then you’ll have made thousands of people curious and they’ll visit your website.

And as I wrote the other day having real people discussing real politics and expressing their dissidence in words the average man can understand - which is what an audio broadcast usually forces the broadcaster to do - is more important than publishing these long articles with 100+ footnotes

three suggestions for Soren:

if you want to sneak au audio broadcast in Youtube use a simple video for the background and paste the audio over it.

if you or MR readers can film some politically relevant events (i.e. conferences, racial incidents,) Youtube and the video should be used to promote MR.

try to add MR’s podcasts in popular podcasts directories:
