Those nice compliant Asian immigrants

Discriminating on the basis of ethnicity is “UnCanadian”. At least that’s what we are told day in day out. Some Koreans don’t appear to agree with that as they are planning to have an Asian only shopping plaza in British Columbia. This article from Immigration Watch Canada probably exaggerates by referring to a “major public furor” as there are few newspaper articles about it. But it needs to be read by those who say hard working Asian immigrants with their low crime rates are desirable.

A case of alleged blatant reverse racism has caused a major public furor in the Greater Vancouver area. Long-ignored by many in the media, but long-endured by many in Canada’s host population, reverse racism has struck lease-holders in a 12-business strip mall in Surrey, British Columbia.

The strip mall was purchased in late July by H-Mart, a Korean grocery business catering to Korean immigrant shoppers. Three long-term businesses, which have been in the mall from 10 to 25 years, have been told to move——allegedly to make way for Korean businesses .

John Pook of Peter Pook Insurance, which has been in business for 50 years and has operated in the mall for 25 years, was shocked when he was told he had to vacate within three months. The Province, a B.C. daily, quotes Mr Pook as saying: “I had a verbal agreement with the previous owner and I just expected we would be staying. They’re making this into an Asian shopping plaza and I guess we don’t fit the bill.”

Rose Farrell, owner of Colour Tech II Hair Studio, has also been forced to move. She has been in the mall for 10 years. Ms. Farrell had done extensive renovations to her shop, but the terms of her lease state that she must leave fixtures such as expensive sinks in the shop when she leaves.

Ms. Farrell learned today that the mall owners are trying to discredit her protests by saying that she was late in paying her last month’s rent. She fears that this tactic will lessen her chance to find a new location.

A third lease-holder, Ms. Lynn Wallace, owner of Frames West (a picture framing store), has said that in order to stay at her location, she offered to hire a Korean salesperson and to display Asian art work. Ms. Wallace has also said that she took the very unusual step of offering to pay the new mall owners $100,000 in advance rent (to 2009), but the owners refused.

Mr. Pook has said that he too would have been willing to pay more to remain in the location.

Both Mr. Pook and Ms. Farrell have said that the decision to evict them is not business-based, as the new owner is claiming, but race-based.

Ms. Wallace, who has been at the strip-mall location for 24 years, has characterized the treatment she has received from the new owner as “unfair”. Her greatest fear is that the new owners will put an Asian frame shop into her current location, that her present customers might not notice and that her old customers might transfer their business to the new Asian owners.

Ms. Wallace has found a new location, but will have to invest $25,000 to $30,000 to bring the new premises up to her current shop’s standards.

Mr. Pook has said he has found a new location around the corner, but Ms. Farrell has not yet found a new place for her business.

The termination of the leases are galling to all three lease-holders. Mr. Pook has heard that a Korean-owned insurance business will move into the space he vacates. Ms. Farrell has been told by an informed realtor that a Korean-owned hair stylist business has been recruited to replace her business in the mall and that the new tenant will inherit the equipment she is obligated to leave behind. Ms. Wallace has been told that a Korean framing business will move into her current location.

Several of the other eight lease-holders in the mall are Korean. The leases for the remaining non-Korean businesses in the mall have not come up for renewal. However, one of the evicted lease-holders has said that the leases of the non-Korean businesses will probaly not be renewed and that the owners’ plan is to make the strip mall all Korean.

Adam Frizell, the broker who oversaw the deal, has confirmed the speculation. He is quoted in The Province newspaper as saying that H-Mart “hopes to lease out some of the buildings to ‘complementary businesses of an Asian nature’ “. Ironically, Mr. Frizell told Ms. Farrell today that he had been fired and replaced by an Asian broker.

It is speculated that Mr. Frizell’s frank revelations to the press about the owners’ future intentions were the reason for his firing.

The only mainstream press story about this seems to be this from the Vancouver province. In it it is claimed that some Canadians are calling for boycotts of Asian stores - good luck finding a corner store not owned by Asians.

There it is again, that phrase, “reverse discrimination.”  As if all discrimination is by Whites alone.  Bo, are you there?

“reverse discrimination”

In Britain they actually call this “positive discrimination”.

As the issue of Korean discrimination against whites in the Vancouver area gets no attention our capitalist enemies are concerned with getting non-white “talent” into positions of power:

They helped women crack the glass ceiling in corporate Canada. Now, they want to do the same for visible minorities.

Catalyst Canada, a group that exposed the barriers to advancement for women at the highest corporate levels, announced yesterday the launch of a groundbreaking study into the problems facing talented minority employees who want to get ahead.

While not the first organization to examine this problem, the non-profit research group said it would take a deeper, broader look at an issue of emerging significance to employers, executive director Deborah Gillis said yesterday.

“What we know is Canada is facing a significant talent shortage. Many of our best-educated employees are getting ready to retire. We also know the face of Canada is changing,” Gillis said.

“If you combine the retirement of boomers with the fact that in less than 10 years visible minorities are going to represent one in five members of our workforce, we know this is a fundamental issue for Canadian business.”

The challenge will be even more acute in cities such as Toronto where visible minorities will make up nearly half the future workforce within a decade, according to Statistics Canada.

The Catalyst survey has the support of some of the biggest names in corporate Canada, including RBC Financial Group, IBM Canada and Deloitte & Touche, both as financial sponsors and study participants. “Businesses have been dropping the ball when it comes to tapping the potential of visible minorities in our workplace,” said Gordon Nixon, president and chief executive of lead sponsor RBC Financial Group. “Diversity can be Canada’s competitive advantage. So the challenge for corporate Canada, for each of us, is finding out exactly what barriers are preventing visible minorities from advancing in their chosen careers and then addressing them,” Nixon said.

So far, companies representing nearly half a million Canadians, including more than 20,000 professionals, managers and executives, have signed on to participate, Catalyst said, and more are welcome. Initial results are expected next year.

(Strange how Canada managed to become one of the most prosperous countries in the world with hardly any diversity).

So here we have Korean capitalists forcing out white business owners and corporate Canada looking for ways to discriminate against white employees - after all whose place are these glass ceiling breaking minorities going to replace? Can there be any doubt that capitalists are as eager to stick it to whitey as the hard left?

This is just another example of how Canadians - real Canadians, not paper ones - are being screwed by our own government.  The brainwashed among us think it’s quite OK to discriminate against Whites and Natives of this country (yeah, I’m white, and I stick up for Natives.  I think it was horrible that those residential schools took away Native religion, replacing it with a Middle Eastern one, while Moslems, Asians, and others don’t seem to be expected to “assimilate”.)

A poor white or Native man can’t panhandle on the streets of Calgary - he’ll get fined or jailed.  But turn on your TV, and you’ll see all kinds of Third-Worlders panhandling there (CTV Newsnet is the worst!)

A white or Native on welfare ($500 a month) is despised for taking taxpayers’ money.  But “refugees” can get $2400 a month EACH - all taxpayers’ money.  And don’t forget the $85 million Stephen Harper WASTED saving Lebanese ass!  (If those people are “Canadian”, then I’m a Paki!)

I never used to think this way, but the events I’ve been following on the news - and personal experience -  makes me sick.  My husband and I (he’s Miqmaq from Newfoundland - doubly damned in this country!) were homeless and living in a cheap, $200 1972 camprevan for a couple of years.  We got stuck in Kamloops.  We waited two weeks trying to get a job from Labour Ready so we could move on.  We had to use the Tim Horton’s nearby to wash up in the morning - but we always clean up after ourselves, and bought coffee.  The KOREANS who owned the place got angry when we washed up one morning BEFORE buying coffee, and they kicked us out - without our Tim’s.  How UNCANADIAN IS THAT?!

I have other stories to tell, too, but I’m sure they’re too long and too much to tell here.

We need to take Canada back.  Our flag is Red and White, united to make a unique, distinctive thing of beauty.  Canadians should remember that.

Red and White Unite!  Take Canada Back for Canadians!

I wonder if Isengrim’s Mic Mac Indian husband has thought about the irony of whites coming to Canada and taking the Red Man’s land away, then deciding they don’t want it any more, so giving it back ... to the Red Man?  Not on your life, nooooooooooooo—giving it back to Chinamen, Negroes, Arabs, and Subcons, all newly imported for that express purpose, the purpose of being handed free and clear the entire land mass of Canada (and of the United States) on a silver platter and everything in it, cities, towns, villages, forests, lakes, streams and rivers, mountains and all the natural resources all of that contains, handed to them on a silver platter to do with as they will, even if it means kicking whites the hell out.  It’s their country now.  Can it be believed?  Can such a thing be believed?  It has to be believed:  it’s happening and it’s happening very aggressively:  just let anyone try to protest it or even look too closely into it and he’ll be lucky he’s not thrown in jail for “hate.”  You better just shut up and watch it happen, if you know what’s good for you:  the capitalists are at the pig trough, feeding, really slurping down the slop, shoveling it into their greedy maws.  Try taking away their pig slop and it’s like trying to take away the soup bone a big Doberman is gnawing on:  I wouldn’t advise it.

Why is it happening?  Because something about the existence of the white race is considered to very slightly slow down the flow of gold into the capitalists’ pockets.  It’s that simple.  A hundred years ago William Jennings Bryan told the Wall Streeters and the Northeastern Capitalists and Robber Barons, referring to their prey, the midwestern farmers, “You shall not crucify them on a cross of gold!”  Well, the people he told that to are up to their old shennanigans again.

They just can’t control themselves.  Pigs and swine are known for that.

Canadians won’t defend their heritage or country but they might get agitated over Tim Horton’s. (A donut chain where virtually every Canadian seems to buy their coffee). And that’s how the capitalists Fred speaks of like it: loyalty to a brand - good; loyalty to a nation - bad.

If the facts alleged in this story are accurate, the business owners who have been kicked out of the mall should consider suing and filing complaints with the human rights agencies whose jurisdiction this would fall under. It’s a clear-cut case of racial discrimination.

This is the problem with race-mixing: not only does it blur the color line, but it screws up your loyalties, and doubly so for the children. Will your children be white? Aboriginal? What if there’s a conflict of interest between whites and aboriginals: which side will your children be on?

Your feelings for your husband are blinding you to the fact that there already *are* conflicts of interest between whites and aboriginals (not to mention a good deal of bad blood).

If non-white immigration is a threat that’s coming in at us from the outside, miscegenation is the rot that’s spreading out from within. You’re trying to have it both ways, and you’re part of the problem, not the solution.

“Can there be any doubt that capitalists are as eager to stick it to whitey as the hard left?”

Roughly speaking, there are five groups (with considerable overlap) that are, either deliberately or incidentally, speeding up the demise of the white race:

1. The Big Business/globalist/banker/economist/transnational corporation-types (who have hitherto been referred to in this thread as “capitalists,” though I’m not comfortable with that term, since criticizing “capitalists” sounds a little too Marxist for my liking).

2. The far left (whose ideas, quite frankly, have seeped into the mainstream to such an extent that they can no longer be considered marginal; perhaps we should just drop the adjective “far”).

3. The minority coalition of non-whites, homosexuals, feminists, etc. Though most of these groups really have nothing in common and may even be antipathetic, they don’t seem to mind coming together to beat up on the heterosexual white male, hence a coalition.

4. Jewry (by this I not only mean visible Jewish organizations like B’nai B’rith or AIPAC, but also Hollywood, much of the entertainment media, much of academia and the publishing industry, etc.).

5. Mainstream Christianity. Some white nationalists believe Christianity is synonymous with Western civilization, but can they point to a single mainstream Church which in the last several decades has condemned mixed marriages? I didn’t think so.

Whites concerned with the survival of their race need to face the fact that *all* of these groups, not just two or three of them, are the enemy. The one thing—the *only* thing—that will trump all of these would be for whites to embrace race-based nationalism (i.e. explicitly defining citizenship in terms of race).

I see Igor Alexander has resurrected this thread in honour of Asian Heritage Month which began yesterday.

There was a report on the Toronto news last night about Asian shopping centres in the suburbs. Shockingly enough the CBC report emphasised the enrichment provided by these Asians - mostly Chinese - to suburban Toronto and never mentioned whether non-Asians were allowed to have their own stores.  They certainly accept the white customers who, unfortunately, arrive in droves to buy cheap bootleg DVDs. (Does Jewish Hollywood know the “Jews of Asia” are grabbing some of their profits?)

I know from reading Matra’s posts that he is a man of considerable intellectual rigour, so his’ Jews of Asia’ naming of the Overseas Chinese comes as a surprise.

While the OC are a market dominant minority in parts of Asia (virtually all the ASEAN nations, but non-existent in Asia’s Subcontinent), they dont, unlike the Jews, invent social and political movements in order to further their group interests at the host’s expense. Nor do they attack the indigenous cultures of the host countries.

Indeed, both Thailand and Indonesia required OC immigrants to change their names and in the latter country, all Chinese shop signs were banned as was the celebration of Chinese New Year - until the fall of Suharto and the inauguration of Western-style democracy (for which the feudal Indons seem particularly unsuited).

Also, while the Jews, (whose cupidity is largely superficial, and masks their real aim, when compared with more prosaic acquisitiveness of the OC) rose to economic prominence in every White country which they battened upon, the OC have no economic power in high-average IQ countries like Japan and South Korea.

Al Ross:

his’ Jews of Asia’ naming of the Overseas Chinese comes as a surprise.

You’re reading too much into it. I used quotation marks with the term as the Chinese are often referred to as such.

Recently the term came up on the first post of another thread. Later in that thread NEC Watch (JW Holliday?) referring more generally to East Asians wrote:

The reality is the opinion of Svigor:
“I was just telling a friend how the east Asians and this behavior of theirs leads me to think that EAs are like jews, but without the tact (if you can square that circle).”

Indeed.  East Asians are _exactly_ like Jews - their behavior in their homelands is Israeli-like, while their behavior in other peoples’ homelands is diaspora-Jewish-like, promoting the most obviously hypocritical vectorism and “racial politics.” And American-born “Asian-Americans” tend to be leftist in their politics in a resentful, anti-majoritorian manner.

Al Ross:

I agree the OC don’t invent social and political movements, as Jews do, to destroy their hosts. But as NEC Watch points out the OC and other East Asians enthusiastically support such movements to enhance their own interests at our expense. Perhaps in Asia they don’t “attack the indigenous cultures of the host countries” (you’re better placed than I am to comment on that) but they certainly do so in the West, especially in Canada.

Al Ross,

OC used to be quiet in the West. In Belfast they kept their heads down throughout the Troubles but in recent years have started playing the race card. In Canada they’ve been doing it for some time. In Asia where people are more ethnocentric the OC probably have to be more subtle than in the West.

As to the “Jews of Asia”, the term has been around for a while:

The overseas Chinese have often been compared to the Jewish diaspora. A Thai king once denounced the Chinese as the “Jews of the East.” Lynn Pann, in her book Sons of the Yellow Emperor, traces the analogy back to 1621 and the British traveller, Sir Thomas Herbert, who observed how Chinese who had lost their money gambling soon won it back “Jew-like, by gleaning here and there.” Certainly the social acceptability of anti-Chinese racial prejudice in some countries is reminiscent of the plight of pre-Holocaust Jewry in Europe.

But the similarities go only so far. Chinese commercial dominance of many of these economies far exceeds any success the Jewish minorities enjoyed in Europe-and the Chinese have had a “homeland” for thousands of years. China does not recognise dual nationality-so those living overseas have had to accept that they are Malaysians, Indonesians and so on first, Chinese second. But there is a very strong sense of ethnic solidarity, and the Chinese word for “overseas Chinese”-huaqiao-implies an eventual return home

You can just picture them can’t you.  Gleeming white toothed Katie Courics, but man where they sharp dressers.

Matra, if you like simplicity of labelling, the one I heard from an Australian in a Penang bar was classic. The drunken ocker called my Albertan drinking partner a ‘deep-frozen Yank’.

I think you’ll find that the “Jews of Asia” label, whether it is accurate or not, is far more common and far more pertinent to MR than the names drunken ockers give to prairie boys.

This is Asian History Month in Canada. It is, of course, strongly supported by ethnic Chinese groups such as the Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC). But the CCNC (not to mention smaller Chinese groups) doesn’t wait till May to push its ethnic agenda. From a couple of weeks ago:

TORONTO/VANCOUVER. The Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC) marked March 21st, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, by calling on the Canadian Government to implement a real Action Plan Against Racism. The Chinese Canadian community has its own unique history in facing the overt and often violent manifestation of racial discrimination that resulted in the Head Tax and Chinese Exclusion Act. “This action plan should include a commitment from the Canadian Government to begin negotiations to include all head tax families in the June 22, 2006 redress announcement,” Colleen Hua, CCNC National President said today. “We are spurred by the heroic life stories of two elders, Mr. Ralph Lung Kee Lee of Pickering and Mrs. Quon Chung Shee Der of Vancouver, who passed away this week, and the direct impact of 62 years of racist legislation on their families, and all head tax families.”

“The head tax families should not have to wait any longer for justice.”

...Sid Tan, CCNC National Chairperson said today. “We should also support other anti-racism efforts such as the work of the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, and others in seeking recognition and acknowledgement of the past wrongs and harmful impact associated with the Transatlantic Slave Trade.”

“We must reflect on our individual and collective responsibility to fight racism in our society, and build a just society based on the foundations of mutual respect and acceptance.”

CCNC works collaboratively with other redress-seeking groups to seek a just and honourable resolution of the Head Tax and Chinese Exclusion Act and will work with partners to mark a number of important anniversaries this year including:

February 23, 2007:    120 year anniversary of the Anti-Chinese Riot in Vancouver

April 17, 2007:          25 year anniversary of Charter of Rights

May 14, 2007:          60 year anniversary of repeal of Chinese Exclusion Act

June 10, 2007:          50 year anniversary of election of Douglas Jung, the first CC MP

June 22, 2007:            1 year anniversary of Chinese Head Tax apology

Canada Day, 2007:    140 years of Confederation

September 8, 2007:    100 year anniversary of Anti-Asian Riot in Vancouver

October 1, 2007:        40 years of independent immigration (points) system

Last week the CNCC issued a press release entitled “Government Should Review Temporary Worker Program’:

The Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC) today urged the federal Government to review its temporary workers program in response to news of the workplace deaths of two Chinese workers at an oil-sands construction site in Alberta on April 24, 2007. There are various reports that suggest unsafe workplace procedures and weather conditions may have led to this accident.

“We are mindful that Canada historically, has exploited foreign labour as demonstrated in the building of the CPR,” Colleen Hua said today. “The Government must ensure that there are adequate safety protocols in place for this group of workers.”

In a letter to the company, CCNC has called on the employer to:

1. Provide culturally-sensitive counselling services to the foreign workers at the construction site;

2. Ensure that the families of the workers are contacted and to facilitate their visit to Canada if needed, and to make up any gaps in salaries and benefits (ie. life insurance, extended health benefits) to the surviving family members and injured workers; and

3. Remind authorities to notify the Chinese embassy to provide consular services if needed.

One wonders what they say in their own language in the numerous newspapers they have throughout Canada that aren’t being read by “big noses”.

Last week a Statistics Canada study found that immigration lowers the wages of native Canadians (and they don’t just mean the people formerly known as Indians).

The Chinese Canadian National Council (CNCC) mentions this in one of their news bulletins but they don’t accept the part about native workers suffering. Nor do they provide evidence to show the Stats Can study is wrong:

Today’s report by Statistics Canada suggests that “immigration has tended to lower wages in Canada.” It is true that immigrants as a group, earn less than other Canadians; however, this does not result in the reduction in wages of domestic workers.  In fact, the domestic spending stimulus from immigrants only serves to protect and enhance local wages and jobs. The person that suffers from lower wages is the newcomer professional, who experiences difficulty finding work in their chosen fields and ends up under-employed and de-skilled.

In the same bulletin the CNCC also criticises the Canadian government for its “inadequate” announcement regarding its plans to help immigrant workers (not just Chinese) to get their foreign credntials recognised in Canada.

http://www.ccnc.ca/content/pr.php?entry=126

Earlier I mentioned that Chinese in Canada are heavily involved in selling bootleg DVDs. Today PM Harper told Gov. Schwarzenegger that Canada will crack down on movie piracy. I’m half expecting the next CNCC bulletin to involve complaints about Chinese being unfairly singled out in any movie piracy crackdown.

It ought to be clear to those anti-immigrant conservatives who make Asians the exception that the Asian “cognitive elite” immigrants of Asia are just as capable as playing the race card as Jamaicans and Haitians.

From the BNP website, regarding the remarks of an Asian immigrant to - not Canada, but Northern Ireland:

It’s not very often that an article in the press about the British National Party, gives us cause for laughter, but yesterday’s http://www.sundaylife.co.uk/news/article2609425.ece target=”_blank”>Sunday Life ran a story concerning the New Ulster leaflet.

Anna Lo, is a Chinese immigrant to Northern Ireland. She was recently elected as a representative of the far left, Alliance Party. Lo, has called for the the BNP to ‘go back where you came from’. Surely there must be someone either at the Sunday Life or the Alliance Party, having a laugh? Picking myself up off the floor, following my laughing induced collapse, I checked the calendar to see that it wasn’t April 1st.

I can only presume that Lo hasn’t fully grasped who the BNP are and who they represent. We are, ‘where we came from’. Perhaps something was lost in translation. Just so as Lo is under no illusion, the BNP represent and are made up from, indigenous peoples of the British Isles.

A thought that runs through my mind at this time is, what would have happened if a BNP member had have issued the same comments about unwelcome foreigners, politicians or otherwise. Nick Griffin, Mark Collett and Kevin Hughes, would probably be able to give us some idea.

One way to deal with Overseas Asians in heated discourse is to explain that China, Japan, and Korea each had the technology to sail north of the equator all the way to the Americas. That’s how the Spanish sailed from the Phillipines to Mexico, and it was because the prevailing winds north of the equator go from Eastern Asia to America’s west coast.

Just remind them that, had their ancestors had the guts and genes (a tip of the hat to EGI) and cultures, they would now be established in the western part of North America, giving or withholding green cards & landing permits to us! We did the job of settling this territory, they failed their world-historical task of expansion, and therefore need to shut up.

It’s hardly racist to point out their racial failure to expand to this continent, and wait for us to get it going, whining all the way.

Another way to verbally knock them for a loop is to chide them for leaving their home countries where they would have to have minded their manners. Living here is a privilege, not a right and if they don’t like it, go home. They go crazy on that one. But you can simply say, “I can’t imagine immigrating to China/Japan/Korea and setting to work to change that society.” They flip out, but thereafter treat one with much greater respect.

They’re just being children (albeit dangerous & duplicitous) playing their left-wing racialist games, testing the boundaries.

It’s always good to go back to foundational events in arguments even if the Overseas Asians don’t want to go there.

Well, from my point of view, capitalism isn’t the enemy.  The free market works when it is allowed to function unhindered.  The problems seem to stem from corrupt officials using protectionism to allow one side to have unfair advantages that are not afforded the other.

There are countless historical examples of how natural laws and rights have been subverted in this way, leading to massive social unrest and concerns.  A major element of this involves individual property rights.

US history provides good records of how early western pioneers were able to settle their differences through the use of simple tort-based rules forbidding such things as theft, assault and murder and the establishment of property rights and boundaries.  One would have expected there to be more violence without established laws and formal government, but that, ironically, came later with corrupt marshalls and others who had been given legal authority in that vast and sparsely populated area.

In order to protect themselves and their property, the populace formed vigilante committees.  In other words; they formed a cohesive organization of similarly affected individuals and executed the plans for needed changes.  “Free-riding” was discouraged.  Pressure was brought to bear on each member to do their share since everyone considered their time away from home and work equally costly.

These are the natural laws that have somehow been lost in this era of handing over personal power in exchange for the promise of protection by our governments.  That is the big lie we have bought.  The governing class is really the one we have to watch out for.  Explain their contribution to society, except for the promise of safety.  Our elected officials are the ones responsible for overruling the people’s vote for what is right and desirable for them: whether out of misguided ideals or for personal gain.

Apply that principle to the disproportionate property rights granted the Asian community in Canada and you can see how the pattern fits.  What the white community needs to do is be a little smarter and think about how their actions (or lack thereof) contribute to their dilemma.  First off, don’t shop there—duh.  Second, organize a massive legal battle to tie up the opponents.  Third, name the officials responsible and root them out.

After that, re-establish whatever order that previously allowed the Canadians to have their Tim Huttons!  Hey, don’t knock it—that’s how revolutions are started!  Cheers : D
