Conservatives were right after all (as usual)

Excerpt below from an article in The Times by Rod Liddle

Quick, somebody buy a wreath. Last week marked the passing of multiculturalism as official government doctrine. No longer will opponents of this corrosive and divisive creed be silenced simply by the massed Pavlovian ovine accusation: “Racist!” Better still, the very people who foisted multiculturalism upon the country are the ones who have decided that it has now outlived its usefulness - that is, the political left.

It is amazing how a few by-election shocks and some madmen with explosive backpacks can concentrate the mind. At any rate, British citizens, black and white, can move onwards together - towards a sunlit upland of monoculturalism, or maybe zeroculturalism, whatever takes your fancy….

It has all been a long time coming. Some 22 years ago Ray Honeyford, the previously obscure headmaster of Drummond middle school in Bradford, suggested, in the low-circulation right-wing periodical The Salisbury Review, that his Asian pupils should really be better integrated into British society. They should learn English, for a start, and a bit of British history and a sense of what the country is about; further, Asian (Muslim) girls should be allowed to learn to swim despite the objections of their parents (who did not like them stripping down even in front of each other). Muslim kids should be treated like every other pupil, in other words.

For these mild contentions, Honeyford was investigated by the government, vilified as a racist by the press, ridiculed every day by leftie demonstrators outside his office and was eventually hounded from his job. He has not worked since.  Perhaps it will be a consolation to him, as he sits idly in his neat, small, semi-detached house in Bury, Lancashire, that he has now been comprehensively outflanked on the far right by a whole bunch of Labour politicians, including at least one minister, and indeed the chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality. Then again, perhaps it won’t.

It is impossible to overstate the magnitude of this shift. To give you an example of the lunacy that prevailed back in Honeyford’s time: then, the Commission for Racial Equality was happy to instruct Britain’s journalists that Chinese people were henceforth to be described as “black” because that, objectively, was their subjective political experience at the hands of the oppressive white hegemony.

I don’t suppose they asked the Chinese if they minded this appellation or derogation - the question would not even have occurred. By definition, people who were “not-white” - from Beijing to Barbados - were banded together in their oppression and implacable opposition to the prevailing white culture and thus united in their political aspirations. People from Baluchistan, Tobago and Bangladesh were defined solely by their lack of whiteness. This was, when you think about it, a quintessentially racist assumption, as well as being authoritarian and - as the writer Kenan Malik puts it - “anti-human”.

We are not born with a gene that insists we become Muslim or Christian or Rastafarian. We are born, all of us, with a tabula rasa; we are not defined by the nationality or religion or cultural assumptions of our parents. But that was the mindset which, at that time, prevailed.

This is how far we have come in the past year or so. When an ICM poll of Britain’s Muslims in February this year revealed that some 40% (that is, about 800,000 people) wished to see Islamic law introduced in parts of Britain, the chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality responded by saying that they should therefore pack their bags and clear off. Sir Trevor Phillips’s exact words were these: “If you want to have laws decided in another way, you have to live somewhere else.”

My guess is this: if such a statement had been made by a member of the Tory party’s Monday Club in 1984 - or, for that matter, 1994 - he would have been excoriated and quite probably would have been kicked out of the party. “If you don’t like it here then go somewhere else” was once considered the apogee of “racism”.

We are born, all of us, with a tabula rasa

Oh, bloody hell, he IS confused.  Obviously doesn’t read blogs like this.

Anyway, I suppose the more that the MultiCult is kicked in the privates the better the prospects for free speech and, eventually, a mainstream political platform for English ethnic interests.

One can now dimly see new political shapes emerging in the mist.  The assimilationists will take over the helm.  But their project cannot harmoniously blend conflicting ethnic interests any more effectively than multiculturalism did.  After this next failure we will be a substantial step closer to the big public question: if immigration doesn’t work, is it necessarily permanent?

This crazy multicult experiment has, at last, been seen by the left political elite as a failure. Ordinary British (of British descent) people knew this from the outset. The tragedy is, of course, that this experiment has impinged on peoples lives in a very costly way. Mr Honeyford is a prime example. But what will come next? We now have a fractured society that no amount of Kings Horses and Kings Men can put together again. Whatever ‘commission’ Ms Kelly convenes will only come up with solutions that are favourable to the ethnic groups that make up the commission; and you can be sure if indigenous spokesmen are included they will be hand picked in order to sanction whatever it is the government wants. I am certain, but sincerely hope I am wrong, that the final act of this madness will be a Britain with troops patrolling the streets of ‘Vibrant’ cities, curfews, internment camps and all the paraphenalia of a failed society. It only needs some incident to spark another riot within a major British town or another atrocity carried out in the name of some religion or other. I travel the length and breadth of the country and the only topic of conversation I hear today from British folk is the deteriation of the country and its ideals due to the influx of so many immigrants. The majority of British people have had enough, they are already at breaking point and the government had better take heed.

My thoughts exactly as I read the original article.  This “citizenship” tripe, or whatever Sailer calls it and Lidder espouses, will be a failure as well.  Not everyone can be a “citizen” in the west, specifically the US, Canada, Australia.  Dare I say only the English should be citizens of England?  Same goes for all other Europeans and their respective nations.

In the past I’ve stated that whites who act against their race’s interests aren’t traitors because they’ve sworn no oath of loyalty and are in fact encouraged to act against their race’s interests by their own Zeitgeist.

In at least the former rationalization, I was mistaken.

We take no oath to the human race, yet no one would hesitate to brand as traitor a man who met invading Martians with ICBM launch codes (or whatever) in hand.  If someone collaborated with Martians to save his own skin, practically everyone would instantly and instinctively think he deserved death.

If one finds this reasonable he must acknowledge the paradigm holds down through race, all the way to the nuclear family.

We are born human, and with an inherent duty to species loyalty; we are born to a race, and with an inherent duty to race loyalty;  we are born to a family, and with an inherent duty to family loyalty.

The “death” of multiculturalism is much over-stated, and the rhetoric that accompanies such a claim is merely a pattern we have observed in the states.

For example, when we would raise a controversy over a high school that would not allow a European American club while featuring African American, Latin American, and Asian American clubs, suddenly all such clubs were banned. We have seen such events at least a dozen times in small and large institutions. The creation of a European American Employee Association as an equal creature among similarly ethnicity-based clubs within San Jose’s public employees marked the end of such associations for everyone.

I respectfully suggest that the real reason for such a shift as remarked on above is simply that white people have decided to organize themselves in a variety of ways within the multicultural model, demanding that their voice be one of the voices at the table. This is a very scary thing for our masters because it gives rise to all their fears….namely that white people might use the doctrines of multiculturalism to organize among themselves within the multicultural paradigm.

Whatever else the shift as remarked on above may do, it effectively (or at least theoretically) shuts the door on that idea. The idea of a voice at that table and an opportunity to organize by whites for whites within multiculturalism wasn’t one that many educated and sophisticated whites grasped. The voice seeking to sit at the table was one which was rising from the lesser educated, and it must have been scary.

Banning multiculturalism at this time may not be enough now that the Volk have had a 30-year education in speaking out of an ethnicity-based voice. We’ll just have to see if leadership can arise from below the better tables.

The coming abuse by the New Cultural Policy will be far harder on whites than any reader can imagine. It will close doors, not open them.

“Culturalism” is just constitutional patriotism or citizenism.

Any sort of identity that doesn’t include at least some reference to biology and genetics is going to be maladaptive to the soon-to-be minority majorities of western nations.

After all, with ‘culturalism’, the genetic replacement of one people by another will be met by David B with “so what?”

And met by GC and Razib by “why not?”

This is not multi-culturalism,what we are experiencing is multi-criminalism , and any system that is forced upon a civilised indiginous population is doomed to failure since it does not have the consent of the people.we have been lied to and manipulated for the past fourty years, we have never been asked what we want ,and the present climate is the result, for who would have voted for a system in which our women , our old and our young are daily subjected to third world savage violence, in which our resources are freely plundered by any foreigner who manages to lie his way into the benefits of our country, and set up an identical tyranny to the one he was supposedly escaping from.It is time for the lion to bite back!!

Multiculturalism, if it meant anything at all besides pandering to stroppy minorities, at least dimly seemed to acknowledge the difficulty of wiping out intrinsic differences in thought and behaviour between different peoples.

What Liddle seems to hail as its replacement- the failed American notion of the melting pot, applied to the UK—could be a lot worse.

Liddle goes for the pre-Pinker, UNESCO dogma. All of us are infinitely culturally malleable if only our rulers feed us the right messages through the schools, media, advertising etc. A few decades of brainwashing into some new synthetic committee definition of Britishness and hey presto! We’re all beige Brits living in pretend peace and harmony, enjoying each other’s cuisine and keeping any religious and political disagreements to ourselves while we abase ourselves, side by side, at the shrine of secular liberalism.

Diversity stinks. Uniformity could be worse- and so could the consequences be, when the incompatible phenotypes refuse to be insulted any more and the lid blows off.

I see this new move from Ruth Kelly & Co as Plan B for the conversion of patriotic, racially aware indigenes into citizens of the New World Order. Demoralising us by exalting the rights and privileges of intruders over ours didn’t work; so let’s pretend there are no real conflicts of interest. After all, if we’re all colour-blind, deracinated propositional UK-ites together, we can all soon be European Unionists, and all subjects of the United Nations soon after that.

Kelly is an RC and member of Opus Dei, a supranational Christian Democratic movement. Beware the government minister who promises a new lowest common denominator to unite us unwillingly yoked white, black, brown and yellow neighbours. Top-down, statist monoculturalism could eliminate most of what the white majority *and* the minorities value.

Very well-said, Amalek. In addendum, I can only say “Shpoogity Woogity Woo!”
