A young couple from Poland were subjected to a “brutal and bestial attack” by four men suspected to be African migrants on a beach in Rimini, Italy.

The 26-year-olds were taking an evening stroll on their last night in the popular tourist spot when they were set upon by four men, Wiadomości reports.

The young man was beaten unconscious by the gang, who then subjected his partner to multiple rapes in front of him. Both were also robbed.

The Polish consulate in Milan say they are providing every assistance to the couple, who were both hospitalised following their ordeal.

Italian authorities have described the “brutal and beastial attack” as an “act of cruel aggression”, and called on the public “to cooperate with the police forces informing each and every element that may be of use in the investigation”.

“If they catch the perpetrators, then prison is not enough,” commented Matteo Salvini, leader of the populist Northern League — reiterating his earlier calls for migrant sex attackers to be chemically castrated.

Giorgia Meloni, the former government youth minister who now leads the conservative Brothers of Italy party, suggested that law and order in Italy was breaking down, and that the country was beginning to resemble “the worst favelas of South America” in places.

Italy’s proximity to Libya, reduced to failed state status following the disastrous 2011 military intervention led by former U.S. president Barack Obama and former UK prime minister David Cameron, means it has been hit harder than any other European country by the migrant crisis, with the possible exception of Greece.

The number of foreigners living in Italy as residents has rocketed by 25 per cent from 2012 to January 2017, and by an astonishing 270 per cent between 2002 and 2017 — statistics which may herald a significant and possibly irreversible demographic shift.

Two Moroccan teenagers suspected of being among four males who gang raped a Polish tourist and beat her companion unconscious on an Italian resort beach were identified at a police station Saturday by a Peruvian woman who reported being raped by the same gang shortly after the first attack, according to Italian media. Later, a third suspect, also a minor, was reported detained by police.

Italian state television, the ANSA news agency, and Sky TG24 TV reporting from the Adriatic resort town of Rimini said the two Moroccans, who are brothers, went to their police station after recognizing themselves in footage of surveillance cameras that police released in hopes of finding the attackers. The Peruvian woman, who was attacked on a road not far from the beach, came to the police station in Rimini where she recognized them, the media reports said.

ANSA later reported that a third suspect, described as being a minor of African origin, was detained by police in a nearby town, Montecchio di Pesaro, aided by information provided by the two brothers. The suspects’ ages were described as ranging from 15 to 17.

The fourth suspect, believed to be of adult age, was being sought by police.

The Polish couple returned to their homeland a few days after the attack. They were vacationing in Rimini, whose wide, sandy beaches and night spots make it popular holiday destination.

The Polish woman’s companion was hit on the head with a bottle, beaten and robbed, according to police.

Horror, this time at Villa Borghese. A few days after the brutal rape of a Finnish tourist at Termini and the aggression of a Belgian on the steps of the Capitol, a 57-year-old German woman was raped and then tied naked to a pole.

It happened last night, in a capital under siege of violence and degradation.

A taxi driver was passing through Villa Borghese on Washington Avenue when he saw the woman tied naked to a pole, with her wrists and ankles tied in tight knots and a handkerchief stuffed in her mouth that prevented her from screaming. The taxi driver stopped, untied her and gave the police the alarm. On the spot immediately came the Villa Glori police and their forensic detail.

The woman, a German national, was apparently choking; she was taken by ambulance at the Santo Spirito hospital. There doctors found signs of sexual violence. The woman, who has been in Italy for at least six months, was reported as having been assaulted and raped not far from the pole where she was found bound. The police recovered her clothes and undergarments not far from the pole.
