ST. CHARLES, Missouri • Three Lindenwood University men’s basketball players have been charged in connection with a rape in September.

Ermias Tesfia Nega, 22, and Tylan Jamon Birts, 19, were charged Oct. 14 with second-degree rape, according to court documents obtained Thursday.

Bradley Newman Jr., 20, was charged with second-degree invasion of privacy. All three, listed on the roster of the Lindenwood University men’s basketball team, are from out of state.

All three have been suspended from the team, according to a Lindenwood University statement released Thursday night.

“We are aware of the charges and are cooperating with the St. Charles Police on the matter. The three students have been suspended from the basketball team, and the university has begun its own Title IX investigation, in accordance to our procedure for sexual assault.”

Nega is from Arlington, Va.; Newman is from Menomonee Falls, Wis.; and Birts is from Homestead, Fla.

Nega is accused of having conspired to encourage Birts and Newman to have sex with the woman, knowing that she did not consent to it.

The alleged rape occurred Sept. 18 at Nega’s and Birts’ residence in an apartment complex near the university in the 1600 block of Cullom Drive in St. Charles.

Nega was having consensual sex with the victim when he left the room and told Newman and Birts she was “ready” for sex, according to probable cause statements.

The lights were apparently off when Birts and Newman entered. The victim realized it was not Nega having sex with her and reached for the lights.

She saw Birts leaving the room and saw Newman crouched in the corner, court documents say. Newman was naked and had been watching Birts and the victim.

Birts confessed the woman did not know or consent to sex with him, the probable cause statement says. He told investigators that Nega had told him the victim was “ready” and that he knew she was not aware he was coming into the room to engage in sexual activity.

He also said Newman saw him having sex with the victim after Nega had left the room.

Nega confessed he left the room and that when he returned the victim looked “in shock” and “teary eyed,” court documents say.

The victim told police that when she confronted Nega he told her that she should not report the rape, and that if she did, she would be shamed.

Lindenwood is not a very liberal college btw.  A lot of whites attend it and it has fairly conservative elements compared to other nearby schools.

A Florida mother made the toughest decision a parent can make Friday when she turned her son into police for murdering his girlfriend.

Shortly after Khambrel Hadley, 21, confessed to murdering girlfriend, Alyssa Oakes, 19, and told her where he dumped the body, his mother called 911 to report the crime. The alleged murderer was arrested later that afternoon, according to reports.

The doomed couple had moved into a Delano, FL., apartment just two months ago.

Hadley’s getaway was foiled when a neighbor called 911 to report his car stolen, according to WFTV, it didn’t take long for cops to finger Hadley as the thief.

Oddly enough, Hadley had been hanging out with a man who’s car he stole just the night before.

‘He was pulling out of the apartment complex when I saw him take off,’ the man told the station.

Police responded to Hadley’s mother’s 911 call by visiting the apartment he and Oakes shared, instead of finding the young woman, they found evidence of a struggle and what WESH called a ‘brutal’ murder.

Three teens were arrested later by police. They may be behind several robberies in the area. The Central West End is a popular restaurant district.

Three teens aged 14, 15 and 19 were later arrested.

KMOV reported:

According to police, Sheena Greitens had just left a restaurant around 6:20 p.m., was in her car in the 3900 block of West Pine, and was looking at her cell phone when a teen suspect suddenly opened her car door. The suspect then pointed a gun at her demanded she handover her property. She gave him her cellphone and laptop.

Sheena Greitens told officers she saw several males running from the area after she was robbed.

Another car on the same lot was also broken into, police said. The victim of that theft told police his cell phone was stolen.

Eventually, officers tracked the suspects’ car to the 4200 block of Shreve, where they attempted to stop it. The car fled and was involved in an accident. Following the crash, three male suspects who were inside the car fled on foot, but were soon arrested. Police believe the suspects are aged 14, 15 and 19.

The suspects’ car was stolen in a robbery earlier in the day in the 3700 block of Lindell, and police also believe it was used in an attempted robbery.
