Alisdair Clarke

On his New Right Forum this evening Troy Southgate announced the death from pneumonia of Alisdair Clarke, 46, blogger, traditionalist, paganist, emerging NR intellectual and, just occasionally, a commenter on MR threads.

His final post at Ayran Futurism, dated January 10th, contained these words:-

Our race, culture and vision of limitless expansion in space and time has no future under the current global materialist status quo.  Indeed, with inertia and the continuance of business-as-usual, the survival of the whole human race and other species is moot.  If one day our descendants are reaching into inter-galactic space – then it is US that they will remember, and thank for our perseverance and loyalty to a higher order.  It is US who are living at the critical junction in history, with unparalleled consequences for the Aryan race and the planet more generally.  It is within our lifetimes that the fate of the planet for possibly millions of years will be decided.

We must view our destiny clearly.  Whether we face a future amongst the stars, or final annihilation and extinction, the end of the experiment of advancing intellect and spirituality across the cosmos, is a decision for our current generation.

As a practising homosexual, Alisdair was proof, if proof were needed, that homosexuals have ethnic genetic interests.  Disavowing the posturing contrarianism of gay politics,  Alisdair demonstrated that homosexuals are not bound to be careless of the rights and the traditions of the majority.  He could write of the European New Right’s wish for “strong family life, fecundity, and marriage or relations within one’s own ethnic group”.  The “or” in that sentence might have resonated rather loudly with him, of course.  Certainly, he sought a martial place at the table for homosexuality in the “Aryan Future”, for which he was spectacularly defenestrated by the long-emerged and leading intellectual of the ENR, Jonathan Bowden, writing in Troy’s New Imperium magazine:-

I have to respond to Alisdair Clarke’s homosexualism in New Imperium’s second issue.  The truth of the matter is that Uranian discourse remains fey and counter-propositional. For, contrary to Weininger’s doxa in Sex and Character, orientation comes from physiology - hence its division into male and female. The notion, anthropologically, that Indo-European development consists of male-bonded warriorship vis-a-vis the Family is fanciful.  More accurately, a primal sexuality always embodies Heterosexuality. It alone relates to blood, genetics, racial causation and gender’s polarity.  All culture springs from a child’s birth - it’s in accordance with Nature.  A factor which necessitates the weakness of all alternatives: whether these are same-sex, infantilistic or paedophile, bi-polar, necrophile, coprophiliac, trans-gender or hermaphroditic, et cetera…

Another stream in this particular argument involves a defence of women. All sexual beauty has to be female given the divinity of the woman’s body. Without it there’s nothing - in terms of Erotica’s stream of consciousness…  When one considers three-dimensional art - Rodin’s The Muse, Cybele or Aristide Malliol’s study for Action in Chains - one recognises the Anima at work.  For representation of the female corpus is cardinal to mental creativity in many fields.  In Hellenistic art, the Aphrodite of Melos - more commonly known as the Venus of Milo - glistens in its marble splendour in the Louvre. But even this doesn’t do justice to the subliminal eroticism given off by this work.

... Another fallacy needs to be confronted: and this must be the notion that family life, male-female bonding, the nuclear enclave, children, et cetera… are somehow negative, restrictive, reactionary, unalternative, ‘square’ or Bourgeois. Au contraire, the First Sexuality remains primal, chthonic, volcanic, and biologically productive. It erupts, like one of Norman Lowell’s abstracts, from fundamental fissures. In terms of flesh, without a penis in the vagina nought else exists - even inversion.

Well, I suppose that when a man like Bowden takes such offence at something you’ve scribbled, you know you have arrived.  Alisdair Clarke has, however, now departed, and the Aryan Future has lost an interesting and far-sighted proponent.  We will have to make do without his musings on “Greek philosophy and particle accelerators” too, and “Valkyries and Brassy Barmaids”.

We don’t know whether, like the Oxford philosopher Freddie Ayer, Alisdair bravely contemplated “obliteration” at life’s end.  To be honest, I’m not sure what modern paganists really anticipate.  I imagine this one, though, would be content to have his work remembered with some respect, and his life toasted with a long, cool beaker of honeyed wine.

Through the hall then went the Helmings’ Lady,
to younger and older everywhere
carried the cup, till come the moment
when the ring-graced queen, the royal-hearted,
to Beowulf bore the beaker of mead.

Rest in peace, Alisdair. Sorry we never met in person. We would have liked one another.

I’m pretty sure I referred to this guy and left a link one time at MR.  I remember Soren thanking me for the link but I can’t recall the subject. Given his sexuality I doubt he really died of pneumonia.

Nevertheless he saw and seemd to care about what so many men, heterosexual or otherwise, can’t see: The end of our people.

Just found this via google, and I`m in shock! Met Alisdair a few years back via Baelder, he struck me as an extraordinaly well reflected person, deeply into the work of the, lets say, like minded persons, and this hurts like fuck! Was going for a surprise visit soon. Bloody hell.  Well, have a swift journey a cross the rainbow bridge my friend!

I agree with that, Alex - which is why I regulated the post with Bowden’s bucket of ice-cold water.

However, Alisdair Clarke, like anybody else, sought to find his personal meaning in life, but unlike most people, and certainly most homosexuals, he looked for it in service to those tribes he called “Aryan”.  Remember that he had not the possibility of fatherhood ... of the normal participation in Nature’s purpose.  Accordingly, he proposed a purposive role for homosexuals in a martial defence of the tribe.  There is a certain striving towards health in this, though Bowden will have none of it.

Probably, the right constituency for Alisdair’s ideas was other homosexuals who must struggle with the same questions, the same devils as Alisdair.  Perhaps he should have addressed himself less to the world at large, and needed less from it.  But we cannot deny him the right to a voice, nor fail to mark his passing.

Alisdair was proof, if proof were needed, that homosexuals have ethnic genetic interests.

On the contrary, death at 46 from pneumonia (an AIDs-related morbidity scenario) clearly does not argue ‘for’ ANY ’ ethnic genetic interests at all.

Unless he was only drawn to Aryan men in uniform- a sort of ‘Pink Swastika’ mentality.

Homosexuality is the outcome of a civilization that is dying. When a culture and a populace is healthy, such aberrations are squelched at the outset.

Mosaic injunctions for stoning come to mind.

This man does NOTHING for the cause, other than besmirch it.

He sounds like Constantin von Hoffmeister.

Yes, that’s true.  Constantin and Alisdair both belong/belonged to the emotional tradition of Germanic romantic nationalism.

All European New Righters, being nationalists, are fixed on the palingenesist <> volkist axle, and the modern palingenesism is expressed in reference not only to the glories of the Germanic pagan past but to the Wellsian vision of a future among the stars.  Today’s heroic rebirth is archeo-futuristic.

GW! You always surprise me! Archaeo-futurism indeed, dear boy. They won’t call me leathery again, count on it. If I ever return to Cronulla it shall be in a less revealing swimming-garment.

Homosexuality is the outcome of a civilization that is dying? No, I don’t think so, although a neurotic obsession with it is certainly a sign of decay. A healthy culture would cease to encourage homosexuality and cease to inappropriately reward it - neither would it seek to pathologise or otherwise undermine the strong heterosexual feelings o the majority.

Constantin
I am so sorry to have to tell you that my brother, Alisdair Clarke, died in his flat in London on Saturday 19th January 2008. I do not think he realised he was ill, he died in the night of bilateral pneumonia. He talked of you alot, I thought you might be wondering why you had not heard from him. Sorry to be the bearer of such trajic news, kind regards, Fiona

These are very sad news indeed. I wanted to visit Alisdair in London last year. But he called me the day before, saying that he was in the hospital because he had contracted pneumonia. He was afterwards released and seemed fine the last couple of months. I planned to visit him next month. Now I shall never have a chance to meet him in person. Alisdair was one of the most original thinkers of the New Right. He will be sorely missed. I shall drink a bottle of whiskey (a beverage he cherished) in his honor tonight. HAIL Alisdair!

Constantin

Alisdair Clarke’s writings can be found here:

http://aryanfuturism.blogspot.com/

“The New Right weltanschauung is unassailable; it is the adamantine synthesis of the most brilliant minds in European history, from Heraclitus to Martin Heidegger and beyond, and the race-mind which created foundational Aryan mythology. It is the intellectual equivalent of Fortress Europe. The Spirit of Europe will never be crushed; neither by force of arms, nor by decades of toxic propaganda, nor by a treacherous plutocratic elite groveling to yet another Abrahamic religion.”

Fr. John you “Christian hypocrites” make me laugh. Stoning? who are you Mohammad? You are an aberration!
I am Homosexual and i am against race replacement!!! oh and also against non loving, judgmental, racist and everything else the Bible tells you not to be people like Fr. John. Jesus was “Jewish” and Middle Eastern….everything you might dislike. When a culture and populace is happy they can choose to be happy with whomever (male or female or both…legally) they like. Oh and Jesus asked me to say “I love you” to you smile

Only found out today as I wondered why this brilliant blog remains inactive. Sad news indeed.

I have only very recently discovered Alisdair’s blog. I was so enthralled by it that i eve tried to send him an email… Now i have discovered why i didn’t get any response.  It’s very sad to loose someone so brilliant, and that brought such a breath of fresh air to the Identitarian/New Right movement, it’s also sad to see so many bigoted monotheistic semites spouting their venom and ignorance on the figure of what was going to be a brilliant thinker. I am gald to see that I’m not alone in identifying with his ideas. People like us must seek each other out! We are few and the enemy is many! And that enemy is even with in, just an example all those viruses who have posted above,(including Jonathan Bowden’s quote), who have the nerve to call themselves “New Rightists”, yeah, sure you are.

Let Alisdair’s death be but the beggining of something new and shinning like nothing that has been before. He left us his ideas, it is our task to make them true. I woul of loved to meet him, but by understanding his ideas we all have in a certain way…

“They are gone,—the lovely, the mighty, the hope of the ancient earth:
It shall labor and bear the burden as before the day of their birth: . . .
It shall yearn, and be oft-times holpen, and forget their deeds no more,
Till the new sun beams on Balder and the happy sealess shore.”

HAIL ALISDAIR CLARKE, PAVING THE WAY OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER!
