Mel Gibson. Anti-semite (not). Canadians, who no doubt wildly celebrate perhaps the most powerful and successful Jewish advocacy group west of Jaffa, have been apprised that “an upsurge in attacks against the Canadian Jewish community” is due to Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. So that’s it, then. No more films about Christ and Christianity by Christians. Can’t have that. Nope, it’s back to tinsel town for the admittedly revisionist but kosher opinion, the one that doesn’t turn us all into violent automatons and gas chamber operatives. Now, deep breath and repeat after me. “The B’nai Brith’s wishes are my wishes, and the B’nai Brith’s fears are my fears too. The B’nai Brith’s wishes are my wishes, and the B’nai Brith’s fears are my fears too. The B’nai ...” Comments:2

His expulsion was a naked application of Jewish power. Anybody who successfully contradicts the line we are fed by the “controlled mainstream media” and Hollywood will become the enemy of Organised Jewry. 3

My God that article has stimulated more comment, pro, con and otherwise, than I would have ever thought. I agree with you that I don’t really think Gibson’s film is anti-Semitic. Not that it matters anyway. Interesting, you know, I left the church for most of my adult life and got back into it after I saw that movie. 5
Posted by Effra on Thu, 17 Mar 2005 16:55 | # Not the Robert Lindsay who played Christ in Franco Zeffirelli’s mini-series, by any chance? (The one produced by that notorious anti-semite, Lew Grade.) 6
Posted by Effra on Thu, 17 Mar 2005 17:06 | # “The first of March, 2005, will be remembered as a truly great day in Canadian history. Years from now, this will be remembered as the day Ernst Zundel was finally returned to Germany to stand trial for Holocaust denial and the spreading of Nazi propaganda… “...Of course, one could question whether or not holding Zundel under a national-security certificate was fair or just. But considering Zundel’s connections to white-supremacist and neo-Nazi groups—read: domestic terrorism—no one should shed any tears over the matter. Where were the civil libertarians? Civil libertarians, rightly, had better things to do… ...Zundel should be taken to Auschwitz and, much like a dog’s nose may be rubbed in an errant turd, forced to look upon this testament to the Holocaust with his own eyes. Let him try to deny the Holocaust once he’s done this. One would expect that even this hate-filled, cowardly little man would feel some amount of shame for his actions.” (Patrick Ross, ‘So long and good riddance, Ernst Zundel’, The Gateway, Alberta) Is cowardly the mot juste for Zundel? 7
Posted by Phil Peterson on Thu, 17 Mar 2005 21:15 | # It is important that there be a clear and reasonable definition of “Anti-Semite”. In recent times it has become another word in the culture war - “racist”, “sexist”, “bigot”, “homophobe” etc etc etc. The New Republic once accused John Derbyshire (!) of National Review of anti-semitism. I have long since come to the view that the only sane way for white Gentiles to deal with this nonsense is by not giving a monkey’s for Jewish sensibilities. My attitude is: If you have a thin skin, its not my problem quite frankly. 8
Posted by Effra on Fri, 18 Mar 2005 11:23 | # Just keep quietly insisting that ‘semitic’ is a language term, and that to be anti-semitic is to be against both the Jews and their intimately related cousins, the Arabs. Then add that you are not interested in sordid Middle Eastern civil wars between tribes whose genomes are virtually inseparable; civilised Caucasoid Britons and Americans do not have a dog in that fight, and have long since learned that it’s not worth killing one another for reasons of politics or religion. 9
Posted by Patrick Ross on Thu, 31 Mar 2005 21:41 | # I stand firmly behind my categorization of mr. Zundel as a coward. As the grandson of a WWII veteran who, himself, witnessed the existance of concentration camps in Germany, I know for a fact that this is something that happened. 10
Posted by Geoff Beck on Thu, 31 Mar 2005 22:56 | # Patrick: Did your grandfather happen to see any gas chambers? Did he visit the Auschwitz swimming pool? 11
Posted by Patrick Ross on Sun, 10 Apr 2005 23:59 | # Not according to the story he told. But he arrived at the camp scant hours after the Nazis retreated. Not only were survivors left behind to tell the tale of what had happened there, but my grandfather could smell the odor of burning flesh that was still in the air. 12
Posted by Geoff Beck on Mon, 11 Apr 2005 00:36 | # Patrick: Just in case you don’t know: the stories about lampshades, soap, and all that are now debunked. Not even the Jews are peddling that non-sense. Also, there is great controversy concerning the so called ‘gas chambers’. Now, even the Jews admit, there are no gas chambers at Dauchau. The only real contention is one room at Auschwitz. Here are some links on the real holocaust history: Note: User Name: visitor http://www.fpp.co.uk/Auschwitz/docs/fake/SWCsmokeFake.html ————————————- 13

Posted by Geoff Beck on Mon, 11 Apr 2005 01:04 | # Patrick: This shows how misinformed you really are. Even the Jews say it is down to 4 million. That story quietly appeared in Time Magazine. Of course how many millions died in Cambodia, Russia, Africa under genocidal campaigns, they don’t get museums in Washington DC 15

I’ve got to read Zundel’s books, they sure must be interesting.
