MMORPG and the Slaughter of the Innocents

A movie titled Second Skin was just made free viewing. It’s worth the time to view it.

As the author of the first (1974) Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) virtual reality game, I claim at least pundit-rights on the MMO “community” documented by this film:

A comment was made during the course of the film by one of the interviewees that MMO “addiction” is a legitimate diagnosis only if we ignore the fact that huge portions of humanity are unhappy with reality. This was the strongest point in the film. But its weakness is that these addicts represent not merely the “discontents of civilization”, as Freud would have us believe, but entire demographies suffering genocide at its hands.

To many, this is merely natural selection in action. However, if we are to admit “disparate impact” of our public policies in civil rights matters, how can we ignore the fact that these policies are having a “disparate impact”, not simply on the happiness, but on the very existence of entire demographies? And in the face of such brute ignorance in high places, how can we expect those so disparately impacted to react?

If I have a sense of guilt about having participated in the creation of the virtual worlds into which people escape from genocide that they themselves are coerced by the zeitgeist to deny, it is the guilt that a supplier of morphine might have on, not the field of battle, but in a world built on the slaughter of the innocents.

Loriver writes: MMORPGs lack this concocted value content of TV and film

I would put it a little differently:

The content of MMORPGs are less dominated by hostile ethnic interests than is old media.

There are plenty of examples of “teachable moments” in various virtual realities, including MMORPGs.  The fortunate thing is that people can simply switch to a different virtual reality when the “teaching” becomes the kind parasitic castration that is the bread and butter of the old media.  (No, the old media aren’t driven by “profits” more than they are by the kicks they get out of their own ethnic nepotism as should be obvious from the nasty way the majority ethny—particularly its heterosexual male—is routinely portrayed in the old media.)

I take it, then, that you disagree with my evaluation that: “It’s worth the time to view it.”

Surely these games grow tiresome and the addiction wears off? I played a good bit of games one semester in college, but ever since then the appeal has completely worn off. I’m not familiar with the games in that video though.

These look to be an unavoidable evil. So, perhaps for those who wish to take such a path good could come from designing a game that would encourage pride in being European and similarly to not wasting time in a game. E.g. some character in the game could be derided for slothfulness and for not doing his duty. Overtime maybe that value would sink in, and the addicts would quit. Similarly, some character could be derided for chasing meaningless points or items in a game or for not having face-to-face social relationships with people.

This sort of thing though is surely inevitable. I wouldn’t feel guilt for having helped this along - someone else would have come along.

Our society is in chaos. In the ideal parents and schools would give children constructive, rewarding goals to pursue. Presently our society orients around “free choice”, so the result is whatever has the strongest appeal wins. The Sirens and their songs are tolerated…

Society should continue to provide peer pressure on members to prevent their descent into depravity, but when a man reached adulthood he should already be trained well enough to resist temptations and pursue his duties as needed. There’s no way to keep adults from games without endangering free speech. These games are here to stay, but at the least we can raise our children properly so they won’t fall victim.

Actually I have heard that there is alot of racialist behavior on these games.  People create Uber-Aryan characters and will also try and find colored users to abuse on there.

Still it would be better for people not to be addicted to these MMOs.

I have one acquaintance who is an addict of WoW, is a hard-core liberal, and wants to go to journalism school!  (how he is going to get in with all Affirmative Action programs I have no idea…)  He is a Nordic type who also feels ‘White guilt’ over slavery.  It is these types that you refer to Mr. Bowery and they have certainly entrenched themselves into a virtual world where they are UTTERLY OBLIVIOUS to the RACIAL DISPOSSESSION that is occurring all around them.

Myself I only play XBOX 360, I like achievements and there is no mega-time wasteage like on the MMOs and it is better to play as White Heroes like ‘Conan’ or Elves in ‘Lord of the Rings’ for relaxation time then watching negro ball.  There is a golden mean out there I think.

I wonder if this is a small example that the message is penetrating an increasingly larger strata?

I have played the most popular online MMORPG called “Runescape” for over 4 years. It is extremely European in its imagery and setup. There are many literary and historical parallels to European history in the game—probably more than any other such game. Many of the skills require hard work and you gain experience which leads to more skills or advantage in doing tasks. Most of the skills can mesh with each other, so it takes all kinds of planning and strategy to do them well. Additionally there are many exciting mini-games within the game involving combat which is very medieval and European such as the “castle wars” minigame. Dragon slaying is a popular pastime, and there are hundreds of quests which are challenging and fun. The game teaches and requires planning, hard work, and perseverence. It is the best game I have ever played, period. I play it and discuss it with my kids. It is a great family activity. Instead of discussing batting averages in baseball, we discuss our combat statistics on the game and our strategies. One of the best things about the game is that it is free, and you play it entirely online—there are no programs to buy or load. All you do is go through a tutorial on “tutorial island” and then you are in! Highly recommended.

Steven,

take your kids out to learn wrestling and how to shoot before you make James Bowery cry.

There is a desperate need for virtuous European entertainment though. The Naruto manga is very popular among children and isn’t corrupting. It’s… Japanese, but Europeans (incl America of course) only produce trash nowadays, other than a very few movies.

I could provide some fantasy book suggestions if interested, though mere words aren’t as much fun as picture books. Harry Potter is not on my list!

Gasp, you’re one of those anti-white transhumanists. Y’all are worse than commies - nvm.

Steve writes: Many of the skills require hard work and you gain experience which leads to more skills or advantage in doing tasks.

Simply learning “skills” without reference to their real world utility is a big part of the problem with these games.  Well designed games will teach transferable skills—and I don’t mean things like “perserverance” which you can observe in any jonesing junkie.
