Not Guilty verdicts and dismissed charges free Griffin and Collett

“A jury at Leeds Crown Court has cleared BNP leader Nick Griffin of two racial hatred charges and BNP activist Mark Collett of four others.

The jury has been discharged after failing to reach verdicts on the remaining charges - four against Mr Collett and two against Mr Griffin.”

BBC News report.

So, after decades of relentless misrepresentation and high-moral opprobrium from mainstream politics and the media, with never a word gain-said, twelve ordinary men and women could not be relied upon to convict Nick Griffin and Mark Collett of race hate.  The BNP pair left Leeds Crown Court this evening as free men - and men freed to speak freely on easily the greatest and most officially ignored social change in a thousand years of our history.

The Crown Prosecution Service now has to consider whether to reintroduce the two charges against Griffin and the four against Collett on which the jury could not agree.  It should take them all of twenty seconds.  The prosecution case was, frankly, feeble, relying on only one witness - Jason Gwynne, the undercover “journalist” who recorded Griffin and Collett’s speeches for the BBC documentary, The Secret Agent.  It isn’t going to get any stronger second time around.  And while this prosecution might have seemed to Labour politicians like a shot to nothing, another would plainly be malign.  The costs of a second failure would be just too great.

The long-term effects of the trial outcome will all be beneficial.  First, a little healthy respect for the instincts of jury members ought to percolate through to the Pee-Cee-addled brains of our liberal elite.  Their idea that something called “racism” is necessarily the most grievous crime imaginable is not shared by the public.  We are well into the process of seeing this toxic little word devalued.  Now, whenever it is hurled at a defender of Western Man the reply should be, “What, you mean like Griffin and Collett?”

Second, actual speech will be a little freer as a result of failed prosecution.  The precise limit of what can be safely said remains unclear, and the passage of even a damaged Religious Hate Crimes bill onto the statute books further complicates the issue.

But the importance of even partial free speech in an otherwise unfree situation is impossible to over-emphasize.  Anger exists and it is righteous.  If and when it becomes possible to publicly condemn, say, Ken Livingstone when he responds to 7/7 by praising those who come from all over the world to take the places of the dead, the left will truly be on the slide.  All suggestions of a superior morality will depart from it and the political winds will slowly change.

Third, the BNP has had the best possible lesson in discipline and been handed a political prize.  Advocating the rights of the native majority need plainly no longer be seen as mean or hateful. It is just.  The job is getting easier.  Whether the Party can capitalise on this windfall will be revealed at the May council elections.

For now, I am very glad that Nick and Mark are free men and very pleased to congratulate them accordingly.

Actually, I think I’d bet money that they’ll reintroduce the prosecution, indeed Cameron is probably at this moment on the phone encouraging them to do so.  The establishment needs to keep the BNP both focused on race an un-respectable, otherwise there’s a chance it will escape from the Alf Garnett ghetto it currently inhabits and start winning a serious percentage of the vote.

Traditional BNP/NF strategy has assumed their main support base will be the most unreconstructed bits of the working class, so they need to run on populist (i.e. more or less Socialist) working class economics.  With all 3 parties heading left, there is now a huge opportunity to expand their market rapidly, but it will require an economically literate policy mix in order to attract disaffected Tories.  The marooned-by-Cameron element is huge and new; BNP nereds to change to meet this opportunity.

Fighting off the Crown Prosecution Service over and over again will prevent them seizing this chance, which is why I think the CPS will re-prosecute.

Bloody good news. A second trial will, obviously, further undermine confidence the larger public has in the judicial system.

I see that Times article reports:-

A CPS spokeswoman later announced that they would proceed with a retrial for both defendants on the outstanding charges. “The CPS has decided that we will go for a re-trial in the cases of Griffin and Collett,” she said.

This may be seen as a rather hasty decision by the CPS’s political masters.  Perhaps the CPS minions haven’t consulted them yet.  They should.

Of course, they do have other pressing concerns:-

The first of a series of events focused on strengthening the CPS’ commitment to engagement with Muslim communities takes place next year in Cardiff.

Further events are planned for 2006.

Area and HQ representatives, along with Equality and Diversity Unit (EDU) staff, are participating in the events to discuss key issues such as:

  * the prosecution of terrorist cases
  * racially and religiously aggravated cases
  * the prosecution of incitement to racial hatred cases and the latest proposals by Government.

Whatever the CPS decided about the BNP boys, the Party will continue to be targeted by the Establishment.  We see in Flanders that Conservatives and Socialists alike assault Vlaams Belang in whatever way they can.  Vlaams Blok was killed administratively, and it would be wrong to think that the apparatus to do the same with the BNP does not exist, at least in outline.

This BBC News article from 5th May 2002 makes the point concisely.

The three British National Party councillors elected in Burnley could be banned from taking part in council meetings if they pursue a racist agenda.

Local government minister Nick Raynsford said the councillors who gained seats in Thursday’s local election were subject to the councillor’s code of conduct.

It demands that all constituents are treated “in an equal and fair way”.

... If the BNP councillors break the code, they face censor by the Standards Board of England, which has powers including censorship and banning organisations for up to five years.

According to the repellant “United Against Fascism” fanatics, the Standards Board of England & Wales declared the BNP to be a Nazi party last year.  That sounds faintly ridiculous for such a sober body as the SBEW.  Here, anyway, are its various codes as they are cast today (pdf).

I have just been looking at the website of Liberty, the British organisation whose slogan is ‘protecting civil liberties, preserving human rights’. Its latest item is two days old and headed

“Memorial for failed asylum seeker who committed suicide in detention”

A search produced the following:

“Sorry, no results were returned for Griffin.”

With our own right to free speech under daily attack, it is heartening and refreshing to see that you folks across “the pond” can still stop the PC lunacy.

Cheers

‘Liberty’ (formerly the National Council for Civil Liberties) used to be a genuine libertarian organisation, but it has been increasingly taken over by the PC thought police.  It no longer shows much interest in anything other than ‘human rights’ for ethnic minorities.

David,

I suspect we are of a similar age.  If you can think back as far as the 1960’s then, yes, you will recall an NCCL interested in protecting the rights and freedoms of the individual.  But by the late ‘60’s and, certainly, into the super-unionised period of the 1970’s the NCCL had become a class-warring institution, concerned only to protect and extend the rights and freedoms of “organised labour”.

In the 1980’s the NCCL, not surprisingly and in concert with the liberal-left in general, mutated into a culture-warring body.  In the New Labour years it has re-branded itself - very Blairite, very fashionable - and added the promotion of human rights to its agenda.

The rights of the native peoples of Britain are natural, not “civil” or “human”.  They include the group right to freely determine who we want to live among us and who we don’t, the group right of self-defence against all forms of civil as well as military aggression, and the individual rights to associate with whom we please and to speak freely in all things.  As a fully-fledged Marxian institution, “Liberty” is opposed to these natural rights.  If our children and our children’s children survive as Englishmen and women sovereign in their own country it will be because “Liberty” and Marxism were, finally, defeated.

This may be illegal to view is some States… This is how multicultural societies work:

Black Cop EXECUTES kneeling White Man

Don’t worry though, black cops can’t be racist and thank God, except for skin color, we are all the same.

That video was disturbing. What, I wonder, were the epithets bleeped. If they were overtly racist it would be dynamite.

Why would anybody give them a fire arm, you could not trust them with a water pistol let alone with anything else. No Riot forthcoming?
Didn’t think so.

The media, however, has been presented with a better bone to chew ... that of a psychopathic “neo-Nazi” teenager who shot dead two members of a sacred minority.

Goeff Beck,
Are you sure you have your facts straight. This is what I read at the site that the video is from

.  CHINO, Calif. - A home video released Tuesday shows a sheriff’s deputy shooting a man as he apparently heeds an order to get up off the ground after a car chase.

The FBI is investigating possible civil rights violations in the shooting, said Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles.

KTLA-TV aired a 40-second clip it said came from a Chino resident who videotaped Sunday night’s shooting in front of his house. The shooting followed a short 100-mph car chase.

While he was on the ground, the man appeared to tell the deputy he was in the military and was unarmed.

Senior Airman Elio Carrion, 21, who recently returned from Iraq, was listed in good condition at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.

I’m not even sure that the guy who got shot was white and I’m not certain that it was fatal either, unless I’m reading the wrong news report.

Even so, although I do not condone the use of violence by police against persons who have already been subdued/captured, my heart does not bleed for anyone of any color who starts a high-speed car-chase. I live in a relatively small law abiding town and I have never seen it happen yet with my own eyes all my life, although TV is full of reports of such chases happening. Its obviously very dangerous and anyone who does it demonstrates a disregsard for life. THat’s basically why I felt that Rodney King didn’t desreve the attention and sympathy he was getting, and in this matter I’m reasonably ‘colorblind’. I don’t seee my self as having much sympathy for Rodney King he were a white guy and the cops who beat him black guys.

Perhaps it is the intention in some Psychobabble way to condition kids indirectly to such doctrines. Meaning they continually suppress, Label and denigrate any form of Anglo existence, and blur normality to a point, even the most sane people eventually snap and reach for what was considered to be a reference point, and in this instance it is the Nazi doctrine. As it is perceived by the Left, that Hitler was a pro White, and that is the image many people wrongly grasp for. I almost vision it as a deliberate ploy in some other direction of leftist Ideology to achieve their goal. Reverse psychology perhaps?

None of the three victims is dead.

The guy who was shot by the black “policeman” miraculously survived. Also he is Hispanic(maybe white Hispanic, I don’t know) and his family has retained the services of a notorious Reconquista lawyer for the civil suit.

So, it was a spic. I am happy it was a Mexican that was shot, though. Well, the Mexicans no how to take care of their people, I’m sure something will happen to that black cop.

Still,  I wonder how many whites have already been ‘picked-off’ by black cops.

Damn sure won’t here that statistic on the 5 PM news.

Allah 0oh Akbar!
