James in definitional mode: “In statecraft, a useful way to think about (evolutionary) selection is via the concept of sovereignty or integrity. Sovereignty is the locus of agency. Integrity - the proper integration of parts into whole - is in service of that agency.”
I wonder how that might change, or change around, in relation to sovereignty not being ultimately vested in the state but in the people of the land. Definitionally, the state becomes the political instrument of the sovereign people. As such, its instrumental agency has integrity in the vulgar, qualitative sense when it is in service to the genetic interest of the people. We might define integrity in this sense as fidelity to that interest. That would better suit the worldview of an ethnic nationalist, I think.
