Addressing a crowd of over 50,000 supporters at his 5th Lega Nord party conference, in the northern port of Pontida, Salvini said, “I think of a league of Leagues in Europe which unites all the free movements that want to defend their borders and the wellbeing of their children”.

Salvini clearly felt support for his beliefs at the right-wing party’s annual gathering. “It’s an indescribable feeling [hearing]calls of love coming from Pontida”.

Last Friday, Salvini announced that Italian ports would be closed for the summer to NGO ships carrying rescued migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea, quipping that “the NGOs will only see Italy on a postcard”.

On the same day, the EU’s 28 leaders produced an agreement aimed at clamping down on immigration and harmonising cooperation on placing asylum seekers. However, divisions surrounding its implementation remain, and two days later, German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s interior minister Horst Seehofer rejected the agreement.

Last month, Seehofer joined an “axis of the willing” together with Salvini and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz to combat illegal immigration, which will also deal with issues of security and terrorism. Although Seehofer did not specify what actions the alliance would take, Seehofer said, “We will definitely find a solution”.

Salvini has earlier said that next year’s European Parliamentary elections will be a referendum between “a Europe without borders […] and a Europe that protects its citizens”. “I will tour capital cities and not just European ones, to create an alternative to this Europe founded on exploitation [… and] mass immigration.”

As more politicians hear the voices of the people rising up in protest of mass immigration, Merkel and the actors in the European Union will find it more and more challenging to continue implementing their multicultural plan for Europe.

Italy has become the second European nation to offer its nationals land and €200,000 interest free housing loans to boost their birth rate in a plan announced by the Lega Party ministers of Agriculture and Families.

The announcement comes almost simultaneously with similar plans announced by the government of Hungary.

According to reports in the Italian media, the Italian government plans to give state-owned farmland land to every family that has a third child between 2019 and 2021 under a new budget proposal.

Italy has the lowest birthrate in Europe. Last year some 464,000 births were registered, a record low, leaving Italy with a significantly older population.

“They say that Italians have few children and that something is needed to turn the trend around,” said Lega Agriculture Minister Gian Marco Centinaio.

The plan says it is a measure to “to favor population growth” and “to promote the socio-economic development of rural areas.”

The last fully operational fake charity invasion taxi ship, the Aquarius, has had its operations finally cancelled and there are no longer any major pro-invasion vessels picking up Africans off the Libyan coast and shuttling them to Europe.

In a statement released by the “Doctors Without Borders/SOS Méditerranée” (MSF) organization in Europe, the termination of the Aquarius’s work was blamed on a “smear campaign, spearheaded by the Italian government and backed by other European countries to delegitimize,slander and obstruct” their illegal immigration taxi operation.

Italian magistrates in November accused MSF of illegally dumping toxic waste at ports in southern Italy and ordered Aquarius to be impounded. The public prosecutor’s office in Catania, Sicily, said crew on the Aquarius, and its sister ship VOS Prudence, had illegally dumped dangerous medical waste among ordinary rubbish between January 2017 and May 2018. “With no immediate solution to these attacks, MSF and SOS Méditerranée have no option but to end the operations of the Aquarius,” the statement continued.

The Aquarius was twice stripped of its registration earlier this year and now faces charges of criminal activity—the active aiding and abetting of illegal immigration.

The previous pro-invasion leftist Italian government tolerated and promoted the work of the invasion taxi fleet, even though they were clearly breaking the law.

However, the new Italian government lost no time in cracking down on the criminals, and pressured the Panamanian authorities—where the Aquarius and other ships were registered—to withdraw that registration.

Describing the termination of their invasion work as a “dark day,” the MSF statement said that the “unavoidable end” to their operations has also seen the “enabling” of the “Libyan coastguard to intercept more than 14,000 people at sea this year alone and forcibly return them to Libya.”

At least 20 people were feared dead after a boat carrying hundreds of migrants to Europe capsized in stormy seas near the Italian island of Lampedusa, according to authorities.

Following the accident on Saturday, 149 migrants have been rescued, including 13 women and three children, but dozens were still missing, the Italian coastguard said in a statement.

Five bodies, all female, were recovered on Sunday by Italian officials.

According to an initial reconstruction of events, the boat was carrying more than 160 people and had departed from Libya the previous day, taking advantage of a break in the bad weather. But according to the survivors, it soon ran into trouble when the wind whipped up.

(ANSA) - LAMPEDUSA, 21 AGO - There are currently 1,400 migrants on Lampedusa after five more landings on the stepping-stone island between Italy and North Africa, sources said Friday.

Overall, some 276 migrants have arrived on the island south of Sicily in the space of eight hours.

They have been added to the 250 who arrived Thursday on six boats.
