Over the last couple of weeks the political right in Britain has been making some noise about the English teacher Will Knowland, who was fired some weeks ago for gross misconduct from his post at Eton. His crime was to prepare a lecture, titled The Patriarchy Paradox, to be given to older students in the school as part of a Perspectives course, his object being to present a view of masculinity which they may not otherwise encounter in these “woke” times. Knowland’s mistake was to assume that a balanced perspective is part of the continuing rounded education that the £42,500-a-year boarding school has provided to the sons of the well-to-do for nearly six centuries. Sadly, we no longer live an age when a full-informed and educationally-rounded type is required among the future leaders of society. Eton, under its progressive headmaster Simon Henderson, is right behind the “woke” agenda.

James Delingpole at Breitbart takes up the story:

Knowland’s lecture was a much-needed antidote to this relentless political correctness. As he said in a letter to the school, he felt the topical of “masculinity” in the school “lacked balance”. Which is a polite way of saying that the boys were being force-fed feminist propaganda.

Before delivering the lecture (which would have been for senior boys), he circulated it around the school — and one staff member objected.

I understand that this staff member is one of the new intake of wokistas who hate Eton’s traditional values and want to reshape it according to the politically correct values of the liberal left.

Henderson could very easily have ignored this complaint simply by defending the school’s long traditions of freedom of expression. Eton, as anyone familiar with it knows, offers — or used to offer — probably the best, most rounded, most intellectually challenging education of almost any school in the world. Though very traditional in its emphasis on rigour and hard work, it is also remarkably libertarian in the way that boys’ eccentricities and personal interests are encouraged. Boys finish their five years at Eton having been exposed to all manner of intellectual ideas.

This tradition is slowly being strangled by the new regime. Rather than stick up for Knowland, Henderson backed the staff member who wanted his lecture censored.

Knowland had prepared the lecture in video form, and when he was prevented by the lock-down from giving it to his students face-to-face he uploaded it to his YouTube page. Henderson demanded that it be taken down. Knowland asked for one good reason, and was summarily dismissed. He is appealing against his dismissal and raising funds for a full tribunal hearing in the event that that appeal fails.

Meanwhile, the video has been viewed not by a hundred or so senior Eton students but by nearly 28,000 YouTube viewers. Here it is, in case you are wondering - it’s very good; and it has led to Stephen Pinker, among many others, actually writing to William Waldegrave, the chairman (Provost) of the Board of Governors of the School, asking for him to intervene with Henderson.

My point, however, is that today the Telegraph reports that:

Eton College students are in open revolt against their headmaster as a row over free speech threatened to boil over into a major fall-out.

Pupils at the 580-year-old school have accused it of acting in a “heartless and merciless” way by dismissing one of its masters amid a dispute over a lecture that questioned “current radical feminist orthodoxy”.

Hundreds of students have now signed a petition accusing Eton College of “institutional bullying” claiming that it was a “gross abuse of the duty of the school to protect the freedoms of the individual”.

... The students’ petition, addressed to Eton’s provost, Lord Waldergrave, said they felt the episode has given rise to “some very grave implications about the nature of freedom” at Eton.

They said: “There is a sense that, by dismissing Mr Knowland, the school is seeking to protect its new image as politically progressive at the expense of one of its own. If this is true, it points to a complete lack of moral integrity and backbone.”

The students went on to say that they disagreed with the Head Master’s assertion that ideas which can be deemed “hostile” to minority groups at the school could be censored.

“We think this test is too severe,” they said. “Young men and their views are formed in the meeting and conflict of ideas. A conflict of ideas necessarily entails controversy and spirited discussion. The Head Master’s ‘hostility’ test excludes nearly all of what makes up a liberal education.”

Well, it is difficult to imagine these sturdy and still very young men protesting in the same way if the roles were reversed and they were unable to hear the case for toxic masculinity. They demonstrate a distinct interest in the sociobiological facts of being human, and a great appetite for some understanding of their own male being amid the plethora of feminist accounts and claims of gender-fluidity. It is a demonstration of a principle to which I know that, in a wider sense also taking in the race issue and the constraint, indeed forced obsolescence of young white American men, James Bowery subscribes: young men do desire to find value for themselves in this world, and will act against those forces, if they possibly can, which take that value away. They just need a good and thoughtful guide and perhaps a bit of evolutionary psychology.

According to the Mail, the number of Eton boys who have now signed the petition has topped a thousand - The Telegraph says there are now 1500 signatures, but the total number of actual students is only about 1,300, so other people are getting in on the act. In any case, it’s a full-scale revolt. Waldegrave, meanwhile, is fire-fighting by informing the media that Knowland was dismissed for refusing six demands from the headmaster to take down the video lecture from his YouTube site, those demands flowing from advice from two barristers that it broke Harriet Harman’s absurd and unBritish Equality Act.

The Telegraph further reports that “sources” say the backlash over the dismissal has been “particularly fierce because it has brought to the fore a series of underlying tensions at the school. Eton has moved in quite an aggressively woke direction. It has very much come from the top with the new head. A lot of the teaching staff do not like it.”

Of course, it is obvious to everybody but the elitist Establishment that the human truth must be spoken in the face of bad laws.

Permit me to Americanize somewhat GW’s usual—perhaps British—habit of understatement:

The parasitic castration of white males is accomplished with increasing sophistication applied at ever-earlier stages of development so as to avoid even inchoate awareness among increasing portions of the white male population. Naturally, the encroaching non-white male parasites will avoid triggering the “elite” white males as long as they can—preferably by (in the parasitic roles such as sycophant/toady) assisting second if not third rate white males in deposing the first rate so that the destruction of their base can be accomplished by portraying the artificial selection regime as naturally selecting out the entire rest of the white population. Once accomplished, the parasites can avoid the “incivility” of confrontation and simply digest the remnant “elite” white males.

During this process, the remnant of white men (even of only secondary school seniors) finds themselves increasingly isolated—decreasingly capable of mounting a collective defense against the parasitic blob and increasingly traumatized to the point of giving up on life in “deaths of despair”, as we see on display in America’s Nation of Settlers. These traumatized men—mostly young enough to have the genes of their ancestors expressing toward authentic Being—are in a psychopathological state that “the therapeutic state” seeks to address with its “mental health” infrastructure as an alternative to the somewhat embarrassing blunt instrument of black market fentanyl deaths.

One can deride them for not following one as their leader in forming a collective—cajoling them with moral rhetoric denouncing their “deracinated individualism” that is “the root problem” with them. There’s a lot of that going on among nationalists. Ahem… might I suggest this particular therapy has been shown neither safe nor effective. Now, don’t get me wrong. One of the worst things one can do is simply confront them with the nightmarish reality they are discouraged from facing by the parasitic blob WITHOUT offering some sort of action they can take. Cajoling them to follow one in collective action is at least something they might do to remedy their situation. But let us be clear: After one has done this for decades with no positive results, it is perhaps reasonable to terminate the Phase I clinical trial on that treatment.

Now, have I shown due consciousness of this treatment to permit me to address my detractors in a way that shows that I have not gone all aspie on them in talking about “Natural Duel” as I have for over two decades?

Let me put this in the context of evolutionary psychotherapy:

An isolated young man suffering under the conflict between his genetic expression and the parasitic blob’s castration of him does experience a critical point in his deep evopsychology where his impotence in the face of the images of various “alphas” parading around in the synthetic reality of media/academia/politics/economy. The deep evopsych reaction to such impotence is submission to the phantom “alpha”.

Now, let’s place the febrile young man, counterfactually clone his current stage of development in 3 experimental subjects on respective evopsych couches to receive one of 3 treatments:

1) The current mental health infrastructure’s “counseling” combined with various drugs.
2) Guided visualization of being part of a cohesive hominin group that attacks some particularly conspicuous image of an “alpha” that he cannot currently confront as an individual.
3) Guided visualization of being in a Natural Duel with that “alpha”.

#1 is the preferred therapy of the parasitic blob.
#2 is, de facto, the preferred therapy of nationalists.
#3 is the therapy I suggest and, indeed, have tried with some limited success in getting young men to unarrest their “natural” development.

Both #2 and #3 will result in some young men acting out in ways that could get them into trouble. One can therefore choose to abandon them for other alternatives—assuming one has alternatives at the ready. But if one does not—or one does not have the resources with which to ameliorate the adverse side effects of said therapies—and one choses to simply dispense with the entire lot of patients even though many if not most would not suffer those effects, one is not acting responsibly.

Sitting back and criticizing is no substitute for action.

James, I am wondering here whether one is reaching for an edited and contextualised version of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Guided visualisation is a particular feature of of CBT (I believe, alongside self-questioning and achievable goal-setting at a minimum). Obviously, the context is not one of mental pathology but socio-cultural pathology. Therefore a corrective narrative would have to be offered. It could be like the one in the Eton case, or it could be broader and more WNish in character, or it could be something along the existentialist-Heideggerian lines we discussed over Skype. What’s your thinking?

My intent with that particular visualization: to address the cognitive-neuro-endocrine-physiological disintegration of masculine Being that is so crucial to conflicts over reproductive resources including fertile women and territory.

Let’s take this CBT example of a PTSD victim being treated with a kind of Socratic dialogue:

The victim is a war vet who has PTSD relating to a command she gave resulting deaths. The therapist’s questions guide her through her decision-making process to reassure her that she was following the rules. At a critical point she breaks down and cries when “logic” should have led to to realize she was acting according to protocol and that things could have gone either way in that situation and it wasn’t hers to decide.

Now think about this woman’s real situation:

She’s part of a culture pitting gangster governments against her individualistic men. Toward this end, they have her out in the blood soaked soil bossing them around as part of its parasitic castration of them so that they become easier pickings for invading men. Some of these men seek some semblance of masculinity offered them by joining the military—battle field military no less—and here where honor meets soil in death, even here, they find no respite and SHE PARTICIPATED IN DOOING IT TO THEM. Worse, like all “Let’s you and me fight since I can’t get you and he to fight to inform me of your genetic quality before I bear your children,” there is a piece of her that gets a bit of a charge out of humiliating them so their “inferior” genes don’t make it into the next generation—as is her job to adjudicate with her woman’s Being.

Somewhere deep in her Being this woman gets this is what is really going on.

And her “therapist” is going to abuse her cognitive capacity to suppress her woman’s Being that won’t let her alone until she has fully integrated this reality into her being.

And that’s just the women in this obscenity of an artificial selection regime.

Think about the men.

Toby Young’s Free Speech Union has waded into the Knowland affair with a letter to the Eton College trustees seeking answers to ten legally-framed questions, of which two strike me as particularly pertinent:

8. Do the Trustees agree that Mr Knowland’s video concerned a controversial matter of public interest? If the Trustees believe that the doctrines challenged by Mr Knowland are uncontroversial and trivially true, on what grounds does it so believe?

9. Have the Trustees assessed, or required the College to assess, whether:

a. other College teaching materials on matters relating to gender and patriarchy, and which take the opposite position to the one explored by Mr Knowland, are not divisive, controversial or potentially offensive?

b. there is, generally, sufficient balance of views across the College’s teaching materials on matters relating to gender and patriarchy?

c. the decisions against Mr Knowland might harm any sufficient balance of views across the College’s teaching materials on matters relating to gender and patriarchy? If yes, the Free Speech Union would be grateful if the Trustees could provide the relevant evidence.

Mr Knowland is also considering lodging a petition in Parliament for a Personal Bill for ordering his reinstatement.

Rather than public legislation, which affects everyone in the country equally, private bills are far smaller in scale and only have an impact on specific groups of people.

They have rarely been used in modern times, having last been seen more than 30 years ago in 1987, when they allowed specific couples to marry.

So according to the rules of “wokeness” the rights of the minority—no matter how perverse—must take precedence over the majority’s rights. The tyranny of the minority is an effective tool used by our ruling-class to keep us upstarts within the majority in line.

The core problem with the “progressive” Left is they regard the normalizing of deviant behavior as progress.

Moreover, anyone who interferes with their “progressive” agenda is “canceled”— even at wholesale numbers. (e.g. Donald Trump and his 75 million supporters.)

We seen this coming decades ago but ppl in positions of power—-those who’re able to stop this madness—allowed it to metastasize. They’re too afraid of being called communist contrived names such as racist, sexist, homophobe, etc.

Kudos to the students who’re rebelling. BRAVO! Every battle we fight highlights just how fragile and toxic the Left’s ideas are.

I loved it when a group of college kids spread fliers around their campus which read: “The Muslims Are Right About Women!” The sheer genius in that tactic drove the leftists utterly insane. lol
