Rupert Murdoch lectures on the global future

Global media billionaire Rupert Murdoch, the Chairman and Chief executive of News Corporation, has returned to his native land to deliver the 2008 Boyer Lectures. The series is titled “A Golden Age of Freedom”.

The Boyer Lectures are a series of six live speeches touching on politics and society, and given each year by a different major public figure in Australia. The equivalent in the UK is the Reith Lectures.

Murdoch opened today with an offering rather oddly titled “Aussie rules: Bring back the pioneer”. It served to outline his intentions for the rest of the series:-

My theme for these lectures is the great transformation we have seen in the past few decades: the unleashing of human talent and ability across our world, and the golden age for humankind that I see just around the corner.

... I will talk about how the opening of new markets is leading to the rise of new nations and adding hundreds of millions of people to a new global middle class. I will address technology, education and the importance of cultivating human capital.

... Most of all I will speak of the challenges which all these developments pose for the land of my birth. The main reason I agreed to come to Australia to deliver these lectures is that the country I see before me simply is not prepared for the challenges ahead.

One wonders what “the rise of new nations” means. It does not sound like the rise of old nations like India and China. Then again, “internationalisation”, as Murdoch later calls it, implies not new nations but the post-nation - essentially the MultiCult. Is he saying that the condition of Australia is that of a post-nation, and that the advent of the artificial “new nation” awaits - if the appropriate internationalist outlook is internalised by Aussies?

I assume so. But right away we see what Murdoch’s new nation will amount to. The only understanding that the man who made his money from Page 3 has of human purpose is material advancement. He is offering a life of consumerism and wage-slavery in return for the cinematic Arthur Jensen’s:-

“perfect world in which there is no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquillized, all boredom amused.”

Here it is again in Murdoch’s only slightly more prosaic version:-

In sheer numbers the emergence of India and China as economic powers and the wealth that they are creating is accompanied by a rise of a middle-class. Over the next thirty years or so two or three billion people will join this new global middle-class. The world has never seen this kind of advance before.

This is only another way of saying, as my current favourite quote has it, “The future will be a world of entertainment without the possibility of political struggle.” It would be a highly rewarding future for those men, like Murdoch, who have gone beyond all material self-indulgence and, searching further, have found their lodestar in the power of the absolute. But their vision of global bourgeois happiness sans belonging is, of course, unworkable and wrong in every fundamental. We know already from our short experience of denying nationhood, heritage, tradition and culture to our people that perpetual “entertainment” does not suffice ... does not engage the mind but voids it, and in the void addiction and anomie breed.

This is not a vision of good. Such freedom from want as it affords is not preferable to our unruly organic life, even if war and instability is the price to be paid sometimes for that. At all costs, life must have meaning.

The emptiness of the life that the elites are driving us towards reminds us why nationalism has traditionally had such a strong component of Idealism. Globalisers like Murdoch have quit the sphere of the Ideal. They have left to us the mechanism of emotional power, of inspiration, to operate as our talents permit. We have to rise to the opportunity.

Here is the rest of what Murdoch had to say about the racial shape of the Australian future.

Internationalisation means both opportunity and competition. It also means being clearer about the nature of Australia’s identity, its qualities and its collective character. I am not talking about re-embracing or recreating the good old days of the past. I am talking about what I hope will be the better days of the future.

... Australia will be strong only if it is open to immigration. Thank goodness we are beyond where we were a few decades ago. After World War Two we opened our doors to Southern Europe and other non-Anglo populations. But after the Viet Nam War we began welcoming our neighbours in the region. In a relatively short period of time we have buried White Australia, and in its place have raised a modern diverse society. This does not mean we are neutral or valueless. We must expect immigrants to learn our language and embrace the principles that make Australia a decent and tolerant nation. At the same time Australia needs to recognise that immigrants bring energy, skills and enthusiasm. They often better recognise the virtues of Australian society, virtues that we are too shy or embarrassed to laud.

In my view Australians should not worry because other people want to come to our country. The day to worry is when immigrants are no longer attracted to our shores. We should be a beacon to all.

Buried White Australia indeed. The man is a race traitor. The vision is genocidal. We will get to hear more from him and of it - indirectly, perhaps, as far as the racial reality of globalisation goes - in his five remaining lectures.

Rupert Murdoch is a Jew and obviously works toward advancing the interests of the Jews. He is a ‘good Jew.’

History is what happens while elites are busy making other plans…

People like Murdoch are sincere in their worldview, it’s just that it is a view of the world from 40 floors up in a twenty million dollar penthouse. From that distance even the most dilapidated looking city appears stately (if not downright eerily beautiful) and all the little ants seem happy and content busying themselves about the hive.

In 1912 the Murdoch archetype was running about assuring himself and the masses that in an age of steamships, intercontinental railways, airplanes, horseless carriages, moving pictures, telegraphs and telephones that war was a thing of the past and that the nation-state was soon to be reduced to the status of mere “country clubs”.
Seers, they were not.

Globalization does not make the world a smaller place (Prof. Robert Putnam’s ‘Bowling Alone’ demonstrates this). A man living in a homogeneous town of two thousand will have a larger and more flexible social circle than a man living in a “multicultural” city of twenty million.

Globalization is re-tribalizing peoples in new and unpredictable ways.

That is what people like Murdoch don’t understand. They breakfast in Manhattan, take lunch in Paris and kick back at the end of the day in The Bahamas. For them the scenery changes but the people all look the same (as they are apt to do from 40 floors up or from behind the iron fences of their gated, all White communities).

They’re like Napoleon waking up in the morning, staring at himself in the mirror and confidently thinking, “now who wouldn’t want a guy like me for dictator?”

And it’s just that kind of isolated self-referencing mentality that sends all the Napoleons of the world marching boldly off into the wintry Russias of their respective eras….

Following on that, here is a bit of satire that really does articulate the thinking of one too many country club Whites and their wannabe upwardly mobile blue collar counterparts.

It was written by Iowahawk (blog of the same name) and is done in the guise of WASPY blue blood, T. Coddington Van Voorhees VII; Columnist, The National Topsider…..Membership Chairman, The Newport Club

As I don’t really like much about his (Iowahawk’s) views, I’ll just paste some exerts here.
I kept hearing the voice of Mr. Howell from Gilligan’s Island while reading it.

‘As a Conservative, I Must Say I Do Quite Like the Cut of this Obama Fellow’s Jib’.

“When my late father T. Coddington Van Voorhees VI founded the iconoclastic conservative journal National Topsider in 1948, he famously declared that “Now is the time for all good conservative helmsmen to hoist the mizzen, pour the cocktails, and steer this damned schooner hard starboard.” In the 60 years since he first uttered it after one-too-many Cosmopolitans at one of Pamela Harriman’s notorious foreign policy black tie balls, father’s pithy bon mot has served as a rallying cry for conservatives from Greenwich to Chevy Chase. Today, I say it’s time we conservatives once again grab the rigging, and set sail with the flotilla of the true conservative in this race: Barack Obama.

Trust me, I haven’t taken this tack lightly. No Van Voorhees has supported an avowed socialist since great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandpapa Cragmont Van Voorhees lent Peter Minuet $24 and a sack of wampum to swing a subprime mortgage on Manhattan Island. Old dad himself often recounted how, as a lad, he would command the family chauffeur Carleton to drive the Duesenberg down to the Times Square Trans-Lux so he could hiss Roosevelt. But I’ve taken a good measure of this Obama fellow, and I must say I like the cut of the man’s jib.

How can I say this, you ask? One look at this Obama chap is all the answer you need. Suave, tanned, unflappable, Harvard connections; it’s obvious that here is a man to the conservative manor born. One imagines him at the helm of the Ship of State, basked in the sunlight diffusing through the seaspray over the bow, like some beautiful rugged Othello from a rapturous Ralph Lauren catalog, calmly issuing instructions to the deck crew in that magnificent mellifluous baritone of his.

Certainly, my endorsement has raised more than a few eyebrows around the National Topsider water cooler, particularly among the alumni of jejune cow colleges like Michigan or Dartmouth. They sometimes point to Mr. Obama’s radical Rolodex and his hooey about “wealth redistribution” and “dictatorship of the proletariat.” But, as I patiently explain, this is precisely the point - it is hooey, over-the-top rhetorical flourishes obviously designed by Mr. Obama to win over benighted inner city hoi polloi (a feat, I might add, that even the Great Communicator himself was unable to accomplish). As for his so-called radical ties, who among us hasn’t sent dinner party invitations to Gore Vidal and a leftwing terrorist or two to enliven the postprandial conversation?

I have every confidence that Obama’s true conservative butterfly will emerge once in office, coaxed from its Maoist cocoon by conservatives like myself and Frum and Parker and Noonan—all of whom I am pleased to report are already under consideration for the Obama Administration State Dinner shortlist. Certainly there may be a tax increase or two, but isn’t that what estate attorneys and Cayman Island banks are for? Under a worst case scenario some of us may have to set up a lease-back depreciation arrangement on one or two of our vacation compounds, as Dad was forced to in the dark years of Carter. But I’m not worried. I’ve got a pretty good sense for character, and I’d be willing to bet my Weejuns that inside this Obama fellow lives the soul a rock-ribbed old money Brahmin. Ask yourself: could a seriously committed Marxist carry off a Brooks Brothers suit like that?

But there is an even more compelling reason to support Barack Obama: Sarah Palin.

If you are a conservative like me, you guffawed when you heard John McCain announced this declasse rube as a running mate, followed by good-natured applause, thinking it was some sort of whimsical campus prank he was reenacting from his Annapolis years. This was, of course, quickly followed the shock of realizing that he wasn’t joking, and all that Hanoi unpleasantness had finally driven him around the bend.

It’s an inescapable conclusion that this woman has, in 6 short weeks, single-handedly destroyed the Republican party. Certainly George Bush may share some of the blame; but we conservatives must remember how our hopes were buoyed by his impressive bloodlines and Yale degree before we realized his excursion to Texas had caused him to “go native.” But la Palin offers true conservatives no such extenuating graces. I mean, my God, this woman is simply awful; the elided vowels, the beauty pageantry, the guns, the crude non-Episcopal protestantism, the embarrassing porchload of children with horrifying hillbilly names, the white after Labor Day. As fellow conservative commentator Andrew Sullivan quipped to me the other day outside a Martha’s Vineyard antique shop, it’s gratifying to know the Gipper isn’t alive to see what has become of his party.

But it’s not just American conservatives who are appalled. Just last week conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks and I were enjoying an apres-badminton apertif at the family weekend house in Montauk with my good friend Viscount Klaus-Maria Von Wallensheim, the conservative EU Agricultural Pricing Minister with whom I shared an Alpine chalet and manservant during our years as classmates at a Swiss boarding school. “Kloonkie” (my old school appellation for the Viscount) reported the growing dismay of the Continental Right over Palin’s embarrassing enthusiasm for childbirth and Israel.

“Coddsie, old chap,” he warned, “You know I’ve always been America’s biggest defender in Monaco. But if you elect this ill-bred charwoman, I will be forced to move anchor to St. Tropez out of pure shame.”

David and I were left nodding silently, for how else could we respond? If Palin has lost Kloonkie, she has surely lost the entire conservative movement. The idea of this dreadful woman in Washington is almost too much to contemplate. Not only would it be a fashion disaster, one can scarcely imagine the White House social calendar—mooseburger fetes to that ghastly Joe the Plumber, perhaps followed by snow machine derbies through the Rose Garden?”

Like I said their is much about his views I dislike, but that parody is spot on with many of the gentile conservative leadership.

The T. Coddington Van Voorhees of the world think that since they once had a nego chauffeur in the 70’s who was “a perfectly likable chap”, why then would Australians or Americans mind seeing their towns and neighborhoods flooded with twenty to thirty million Asians or Mexicans.

But behind these types are the “average Joe” types (living outside of metropolitan areas) who, while living in more rural areas that are still 90% White, think that globalism and multiculturalism means having a black hairdresser in town or a Chinese bag boy at the local Walmart.

Perhaps when the blunt hand of multiculturalism gives Average Joe a good hard slap in the face with reality, he’ll send the self-elected Van Vorhees packing and seek out leaders who will actually represent him and his family.

Until then it will be ‘steady as she goes’ on the 21st century Titanic known as Western Civilization…

The Jewishness of Murdoch’s mother is the issue. Her father is listed at Wikipedia as being an Irish merchant, and her mother an English woman:-

“Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC, DBE (born February 8, 1909), philanthropist, is the widow of Australian newspaper publisher Sir Keith Murdoch and the mother of international media proprietor Rupert Murdoch.

(Dame Elisabeth) Murdoch was born Elisabeth Joy Greene in Melbourne to an Irish Protestant father and an English mother. Here is another genealogy. There is a Ghanaan and another Freud in there.

It all seems far from clear to me what we are looking at here. The appropriate stance to take is open-mindedness, qualified by the likelihood that, since 3/4 to 7/8 of Murdoch’s ancestry is certainly Anglo, he is not overly “Jewish” in motivation.

Unfortunately the term has lost all meaning.

At any rate since Anglo-Saxons are a White ethnic group, the “White” part of White Anglo-Saxon Protestant was redundant to begin with.

But Of course (in America at any rate) today “Anglo” is synonymous with White.

It doesn’t matter if you just got off the plane from the Czech Rep., if you’re White you’re an “Anglo”.
Which again demonstrates the double standards on race. Referring to all Whites as “Anglo” would be like calling all Asians, Koreans…

Mockery herself is struck dumb by bloviations as this. If it were recited by a naive young white female fresh from PCU and she posted it here to teach all us evil racists a thing or two we would rip into it like sharks in chum. Quotes like this can be dissected and eviscerated since it is chock full of contradictions, fallacies, inverted morality, hypocrisy but I’ll skip this for now since most here know the arguments. I’m persuaded at this time that Murdoch is physically non-Jewish but he has been spiritually Judaized to a degree that his physical lineage is irrelevant. He either believes this balderdash exposing the tissue between his ears as non-functional or he is what I consider the all-too-typical Goy satrap who thinks he best knows who to fear* and speaks only approved thoughts knowing full well the evil and treachery implicit in them.

* It may seem rational for rich gentiles to fear Jewry to the point of even being open advocates of race treason but if we are to survive as a people this will need to change. Their gated communities and penthouses must someday no longer be a refuge but a brief reprieve (as with the Whites in South Africa) that will one day be breached so that they can be brought to face the fate reserved for traitors. I pray that quotes as this form the body of evidence for this fiend’s justice. Murdoch’s Fox pumps the poison 24/7 against his own people in support of the outsider so he had better hope the multi-cult proceeds apace but all-so-sweetly the more his master’s scheme progresses the greater the chance Sir Rupert will face a club wielding crackhead one night to make the blessings of diversity more personal.

Alas that is wishful thinking. For now one of the few tools available to us is ridicule so we can only hope more White Men see Murdoch’s words as the equivalent to the advocacy of a flat-earth or that the moon is made of cheese.

I certainly wasn’t asserting that he was a jew, just that he has tenuous family ties through marriage and that is about as much as we can say. I don’t think it matters whether he is or not for anyway. Corporate control of the media and the endless stream of “infotainment” would carry on regardless, even if White people dominated entirely and were completely free of jewish censorship and/or control.
