Thousands of pro-Europe protesters flooded Britain’s cities today - leading to counter-demonstrations from Brexit voters.

In typically British scenes, a man in tweed held a Union Flag aloft in Parliament Square, while in Bristol hundreds trooped through the streets under steady rain.

The March for Europe was launched to ratchet up pressure on the Government to delay activating Article 50, the formal process of leaving the EU.

Simultaneous rallies supporting close economic, cultural and social links to Europe are taking place in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Oxford, and Cambridge.

In London, Eddie Izzard’s pink beret became the centre of police attention after it was stolen off his head along with his bag.

... Campaigners marched from Hyde Park and through Whitehall to the Houses of Parliament, where a debate on whether a second EU referendum should take place will be held on Monday.

It comes after an online petition garnered more than four million signatures after the vote to leave the EU in June, but an official Government response to the campaign said the Brexit decision ‘must be respected’.

COMMEMORATING THE 70th ANNIVERSARY OF A BRUTAL TERRORIST MURDER

Dear Friends,

Seventy years ago this month, ruthless terrorists carried out the brutal murder of two British Sergeants – Clifford Martin and Mervyn Paice – in Netanya, Palestine.

As with so many other aspects of the Zionist terror war against Britons and Palestinians, these murders have been consigned to what George Orwell called the “memory hole”.

It suits today’s British establishment to ignore the anti-British terrorist roots of today’s bandit state of Israel, and so to forget the sacrifices of heroes such as Sgts Paice and Martin.

The Forgotten British Heroes Campaign is determined to honour their memory.

We have held two rallies beside the Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square to remember the terrorist bombing of the British Colonies Club in March 1947 – a bombing whose perpetrator Prof. Robert Misrahi is still alive in Paris, having never faced British justice. The FBHC remains in detailed correspondence with the Metropolitan Police over bringing Misrahi to long-overdue trial.

THIS weekend we will mark the anniversary of the heinous murder of Sgts Martin and Paice.
A wreath-laying ceremony will be followed by an indoor meeting in South West England.
A coach party will leave from Central London for this all-day event, and redirection details will be supplied to friends based outside the capital.

This is your chance to be part of a historic event honouring Forgotten British heroes.
