Posted by Celentano Not communicating Not on Thu, 18 May 2017 05:22 | # Perhaps I should not get a kick out of this video, but I do - Adriano Celentano as the cool one, “aaaye”, was a proto-Fonzie, as “mollegiato”, i.e., the “flexible one”, he was a proto-Jim Carey, he was a proto-rapper even, showing “the attitude” but in a much more good natured and decidedly less dictatorial way - more persuasive by comparison to rap… ...and in his effort to demonstrate communicative barriers he does a little more, probably by accident of nature… Celentano claimed that his purpose was to show people not communicating but he only succeeded in demonstrating once again that people cannot Not communicate - in fact, he quite well communicates the participatory construction of knowledge as opposed to the traditional linear transmissions model - one-way teacher to student. 3
Posted by Faccia Siciliano on Thu, 15 Mar 2018 12:58 | # Because of the island’s proximity to Africa, and the several historical incursions and mixtures there, you always get somebody trying to pipe-up and sneak in the idea that this that or another ethnicity is as good as Sicilian. I remember a pitch black guy in a homeless shelter saying that his father was Italian and then trying to assert that “if you called Sicilians White they’d kick your ass” (the opposite is more like it) ... a Jewish guy trying to tell me in his panic (because he thought ‘racism would lead to anti-semitism) that “Sicilians were almost black” - and these people were trying to assert this after I’d just come back form six months on the island back in 1996 and 1998. The tactlessness of WN playing into that, when they do, is troubling indeed. Faces of Sicilians ... one or two look a bit more like they are fresh from the Arab invasions of a few hundred years back, but most in this survey of faces from the various towns of Sicily confirm my own experience of having been all around the island for several months, that the people tilt more toward nerdy White. 4

Adriano Celentano - Prisencolinensinainciusol 1972
Italian recording artist Adriano Celentano’s song composed of gibberish words, written and sung in a way to sound like American English but without any content meaning, only attitude. It is taught to the class and the class grooves with it -
