The interesting thing about all this is that Iran has been very public about its ambitions, which infers that they intend to have them as a deterrent whereas Israel always intended to keep them a secret, which implies they are not interested in deterrence but usage. Since the cat is now out of the bag its back to posturing. Besides Israel is years ahead with its program so cannot really be threatened by any Arab state.

Back when the very pro-Israeli Bob Dornan had his radio show I recall him mentioning several times that when a SR-71 Blackbird was discovered flying over Dimona Golda Mier gave the order to shoot it down. Luckily they didn’t succeed-but what a curious ally.

Add the fact they have their own spy satellites, now they can “paint” the target they want to nuke using EROS-B.
I guess when they fire a missle into Palestine in the past, it was all caught on camera using EROS-A; now that’s something to think about.
