‘Every decent person in this country’ fighting antisemitism, says Boris Johnson in Chanukah message ‘Because Britain would not be Britain without its Jewish community’

The JC, 23 Dec 2019:

Boris Johnson in his Chanukah message from Downing Street

“Every decent person in this country” is fighting resurgent antisemitism alongside British Jews, Boris Johnson has said in his Chanukah message from Downing Street.

In a video released on Sunday, the prime minister said the festival was “a time to celebrate not just the miracle of the oil but your unique identity”.

“That’s really important right now. I know that recent years have not been easy ones for British Jews,” he said.

“In the media, on the streets and particularly online, antisemites have, in alarming numbers, been emboldened to crawl out from under their rocks and begin once again to spread their brand of noxious hatred far and wide.

“But as you kindle the Chanukah night tonight and on the nights to come, I want you to remember this.

When the Macabees drove the forces of farkness out of Jerusalem, they had to do so on their own.

“Today, as Britain’s Jews seek to drive back the darkness of resurgent antisemitism, you have every decent person in this country fighting by your side. “Because Britain would not be Britain without its Jewish community.”

Boris Johnson @BorisJohnson

Britain would not be Britain without its Jewish community. And we will stand with you and celebrate with you - at Chanukah and all year round.

On Sunday, thousands of people turned out to Chanukah in the Square in Trafalgar Square, when London Mayor Sadiq Khan told the crowd: “This is your city and you’re going nowhere.”

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis said: “We’re proud to be Jewish. We’re proud to be BritIsh. We’re proud of our Torah tradition.

“We will do everything we can to eradicate the scourge of antisemitism. We will not be silenced.”

Hehehe The memes are writing themselves these days. How long before the far-right circulate that image as “proof” Johnson is Jewish coz he sez so? it can sit alongside the “Kate Middleton is Jewish” disinfo. My guess is before New Years day…..

It’s true that he is apparently only 1/8th Jewish, but he is somehow choosing to identify with it, flaunting it to the point of ingratiation with Jewry. He’s also got a little Circassian-Turkish-Muslim funk going on (also 1/8th). Overall, a “one-man melting pot” – ‘with a combination of Abrahamic religions great-grandparents.’

If he was also 1/8th African (and he’s working on that) he would perfectly represent the motley undifferentiatated Abrahamic man that GW forecasts as their goal. Not the kind of “conservative” identification ethnonationals would want to see heading the fight against the panmixia onslaught:

Boris Johnson, from Wikipedia:

Ancestors and siblings

Johnson’s paternal great-grandfather was Circassian-Turkish journalist Ali Kemal[561][562][563] who was a secular Muslim; his father’s other ancestry includes English, German and French; one of his German ancestors was said to be the illegitimate daughter of Prince Paul of Württemberg and thus a descendant of King George II of Great Britain.[564] This would make him and Elizabeth II 6th cousins twice removed. However, through Mary of Teck’s connection to Frederick II Eugene, Duke of Württemberg they have a closer genealogical link, as they are 5th cousins twice removed. Johnson’s mother is the granddaughter of Elias Avery Lowe, a palaeographer, who was a Russian Jewish immigrant to the US,[565] and Pennsylvania-born Helen Tracy Lowe-Porter, a translator of Thomas Mann.[566] In reference to his varied ancestry, Johnson has described himself as a “one-man melting pot” – with a combination of Abrahamic religions great-grandparents.[567] Johnson was given the middle name “Boris” after a Russian émigré his parents had once met.[10] An episode of Who Do You Think You Are? explored the German origins of his middle name Pfeffel.[7][568][569] Through this family line, Boris Johnson is a descendant in the seventh generation of Anna Catharina Bischoff, whose mummified corpse was found in 1975 and identified in 2018.[570][571]

Boris, descended of a mummified corpse. Classic. Should be Bischoff Karloff.

Boris, a true Frankenstein. ...or The Mummy  ...some kind of black and white horror.

And it is a time to celebrate not just the miracle of the oil but also your unique heritage. To pop the Chanukah or menorah in the window [and set fire to the curtains?] and say to the world, just as Judah and his small band of poorly equipped Maccabees said to Antiochus III and his mighty Greek army all those years ago “I am Jewish and I am proud of it” - Boris Johnson

Is that really “choosing to identify” with Jewish? Wait until he does Eid. It’s just the usual platitudes politicians spin out on these occasions. Johnson will get a Brexit of sorts done. Nobody should expect more from him than that. However, leaving the EU is both a necessary and vital first step on the road to redemption.

Ok, it’s more a commendation of Jewish identity, and an expression of solidarity with it, than full on identification. Still bad. Even if he feels that has to do that as a politician in the current circumstance, do we have to approve of it, as non-politicians?

Just as Hillary Clinton being even worse (“heads we win”) than Donald Trump, does not mean that we have to lay off Trump, the “tails you lose” candidate.

Posted by mancinblack on Mon, 23 Dec 2019 18:46 | #

No, we don’t need to approve of Johnson but we don’t need to encourage disinformation either. There is far too much of that online as it is. Simply judge Johnson, who has never claimed to be anything other than a one nation Tory, on what he does.

With Trump it was and is different. Trump was billed and promoted by the Alt-Right as something he most certainly isn’t. “The Man on the White Horse” as Sallis would put it. Nobody has ever said anything remotely like that about Johnson - a one nation Tory with a sense of humour. If Clinton would have won the American presidential election, nothing would have changed much stateside. As it is, as least as far as foreign policy is concerned, everything has changed - and not for the better. Johnson might screw up in similar fashion. Time will tell but no one should be disappointed if he does (other than regarding leaving the EU) because not much is expected of him.

Until today, the only people I have heard or read, making a comparison between Trump and Johnson, has been Remainers and liberals. Now, I suppose I’ll have to add you to the list Daniel (lol)

Maybe it’s the distance that makes me unable to distinguish the hair-do. From here, Trump and Boris are indistinguishable. Of course I want Brexit to go through. Of course Corbyn was horrible - wasn’t excusing his “politically necessary” (((grovelling))) either.

But that was a pretty strong endorsement and support of Jewry that Mr. Johnson enunciated, very similar in tone and intent to Trump’s recent executive order combatting anti-Semitism.

The “Love Actually” bit was sickening as well.

If I’m not mistaken, Boris isn’t only on good terms with diasporic Jewry, he’s on pretty good terms with Israel as well.

Word has it that Boris will support The Saudi War against Yemenese children - yet another facet of (((operation clean sweep))).

As for Trump, I do think it is probable that Hillary would have put into the Supreme Court some candidates even worse than Trump would. Although a Court that would overturn Roe v Wade would be bad. Except on that account, Ginsburg is horrible and barely hanging on. And Hillary has a proven track record of horrible foreign policy: she came, she saw, had Gaddafi murdered, she laughed about it (another chapter of Clean Break, this one opening the floodgates of Africa to Europe). The main argument for Hillary would be “worse is better” - hasten the collapse. And I don’t think we’re ready for it. I’ve even heard that Trump is getting some of the border wall built. I say that with your knowing that I have never looked upon Trump as anything but the man that Jewry wanted in office to undo the Iran deal (operation clean break), to head their rightward swing, and amalgam with White right wingers against “the left.”

https://www.unz.com/article/vulture-capitalism-is-jewish-capitalism/

It is commonly agreed that the most significant global vulture funds are Elliot Management, Cerberus, FG Hemisphere, Autonomy Capital, Baupost Group, Canyon Capital Advisors, Monarch Alternative Capital, GoldenTree Asset Management, Aurelius Capital Management, OakTree Capital, Fundamental Advisors, and Tilden Park Investment Master Fund LP.

These names are masks. They are designed to cultivate trust and obscure the real background of the various groupings of financiers. None of these groups have Anglo-Saxon or venerable origins. None are based in rural idylls. All of the vulture funds named above were founded by, and continue to be operated by, ethnocentric, globalist, urban-dwelling Jews. A quick review of each of their websites reveals their founders and central figures to be:

Elliot Management — Paul Singer, Zion Shohet, Jesse Cohn, Stephen Taub, Elliot Greenberg and Richard Zabel
Cerberus — Stephen Feinberg, Lee Millstein, Jeffrey Lomasky, Seth Plattus, Joshua Weintraub, Daniel Wolf, David Teitelbaum
  FG Hemisphere — Peter Grossman
  Autonomy Capital — Derek Goodman
Baupost Group — Seth Klarman, Jordan Baruch, Isaac Auerbach
Canyon Capital Advisors — Joshua Friedman, Mitchell Julis
Monarch Alternative Capital — Andrew Herenstein, Michael Weinstock
GoldenTree Asset Management — Steven Tananbaum, Steven Shapiro
Aurelius Capital Management — Mark Brodsky, Samuel Rubin, Eleazer Klein, Jason Kaplan
OakTree Capital — Howard Marks, Bruce Karsh, Jay Wintrob, John Frank, Sheldon Stone
Fundamental Advisors — Laurence Gottlieb, Jonathan Stern
Tilden Park Investment Master Fund LP — Josh Birnbaum, Sam Alcoff

The fact that all of these vulture funds, widely acknowledged as the most influential and predatory, are owned and operated by Jews is remarkable in itself, especially in a contemporary context in which we are constantly bombarded with the suggestion that Jews don’t have a special relationship with money or usury, and that any such idea is an example of ignorant prejudice. Equally remarkable, however, is the fact that Jewish representation saturates the board level of these companies also, suggesting that their beginnings and methods of internal promotion and operation rely heavily on ethnic-communal origins, and religious and social cohesion more generally. As such, these Jewish funds provide an excellent opportunity to examine their financial and political activities as expressions of Jewishness, and can thus be placed in the broader framework of the Jewish group evolutionary strategy and the long historical trajectory of Jewish-European relations.

Dr. Eigenvector, thank you for bringing attention to that Joyce article, with particular focus on that corporate crypsis.

Excellent feedback.

Great to see you back here Dr. Eigenvector.  We depend upon input, reinforcing such as this, elaborating… and also corrective, such as that from mancinblack here:

mancinblack, #3

It’s true that Boris wasn’t reinforcing identification with his 1/8th Jewish heritage so much as encouraging Jews in Britain to boldly proclaim and be proud of their Jewish identity, in line with a quoted scripture.

Thus, I have removed that part of what I had posted as the article title, so as not to be misleading as to his intent. ...though the JC article doesn’t seem to mind encouraging that misunderstanding, leading with that screen shot captioning that statement with his image.

And for our sake indeed, that bold identification can help overcome the crypsis which is a major obstruction to popular understanding of Jewish difference in biology and corresponding interests.

...important work being done, such as in the Joyce article that Dr. Eigenvector highligthed.

Thank you both, very much, mancinblack and dr. Eigenvector, for your help and a merry solstice to you both.

Lord Dubs ‘bitterly disappointed and angry’ at scrapping of child refugee pledge.

Labour peer who fled the Nazis as a boy said he is “absolutely shocked” by Boris Johnson’s move, accusing the government of “turning their backs on the most vulnerable”

Oi

This comes after British Jews criticized the decision to “tear up” a pledge to negotiate a deal allowing refugee children in Europe with UK family ties to come to Britain after Brexit. The revised wording of the Brexit Bill, due to take place Friday, removes a Government commitment to strike a deal with the European Union so child refugees can be reunited with their family in the UK, even after free movement ends.

The terms - pushed for by Lord Alf Dubs - who fled the Nazis as a boy - had been accepted by Theresa May when she was in number 10 but her successor Boris Johnson looks to have watered down the commitment to simply requiring a minister to “make a statement” to Parliament. The change has been made in Clause 37 of the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill. stating that “a minister will make a single statement to Parliament within two months” of it passing to explain progress on the arrangements for child refugees seeking their families in the UK.

Speaking to Jewish News, Lord Dubs said “the government said they were doing it for the sake of flexibility. I don’t understand that. How can you bargain the rights of child refugees? How can you use that as a bargaining chip?

Well, business is business, my boy..

He said his amendment was “passed both Houses of Parliament. We thought this was absolutely right - and then at the eleventh hour yesterday, we heard that they were pulling it back”

Oi Vey

The governments move led to anger amongst Labour figures with Sir Keir Starmer, the Shadow Brexit Secretary, saying “During the last Parliament, Labour’s Alf Dubs led the campaign to protect child refugees post Brexit. The Tories now want to tear up those protections. As we leave the European Union we cannot abandon our values of human rights and internationalism”

Labour MP Yvette Cooper, who joined Dubs and the late Rabbi Harry Jacobi when the Dubs Amendment was submitted to Parliament in 2016 said there was “no reason at all” for “the utterly shameful decision”.

The 10 Commitments.

Before the General Election, the Board of Deputies of British Jews produced a ‘Jewish Manifesto’ which was hawked around the campaign trail by activists attempting to persuade candidates to sign up to it.

The Board of Deputies’ Manifesto empowers our political representatives to understand and champion these causes

You can read it here…

and keep it as a checklist to see how well your Parliamentary representative is performing…

The Board of Deputies’ response to the 2014 Holocaust Commission made recommendations, including the following:

•  Educate children to become activists for human rights and social justice, and against prejudice

So, the entirety of post Brexit policy making must be centred around Jewish wants and interests alone. Right down to the rest of us paying the difference if their Eastern European care workers or security guards become more expensive. And they’re already in there with their demands, ready to go, front of the queue the moment we leave the EU.

You know, if these guys weren’t such a voiceless, powerless, downtrodden and persecuted minority, they could start to be a real pain in the arse.

Times of Israel:

Boris Johnson set to move forward with anti-BDS law

UK Conservative party vowed last month to enact legislation banning local councils from boycotting products from foreign countries, including Israel

By TOI STAFF and AGENCIES

16 December 2019, 9:09 am

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, left, welcomes Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu outside Downing Street.

Newly reelected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to unveil proposed legislation aimed at undermining the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel later this week, local media reported.

According to daily newspaper “i,” the measure will be listed among the legislative priorities of the Johnson administration during the Queen’s Speech on Thursday. The speech, which is traditionally given by the reigning monarch at the opening of parliament, is written by the queen’s ministers and reflects the priorities of the incoming government.

Johnson’s Conservative Party, which won a landslide victory in Thursday’s general election, had pledged to ban local councils from boycotting products from foreign countries, including Israel, in its election policy manifesto released last month.

“We will ban public bodies from imposing their own direct or indirect boycotts, disinvestment or sanctions campaigns against foreign countries. These undermine community cohesion,” the document read.

Introducing a law against such boycotts would prevent Labour-majority local councils from imposing boycotts against Israel, according to the Jewish Chronicle weekly newspaper.

Johnson has previously spoken out against BDS, telling the BBC in 2015 that he could “not think of anything more foolish than to say that you want to have any kind of divestment or sanctions or boycott against a country that, when all is said and done, is the only democracy in the region.”

In its own manifesto, the opposition Labour party vowed that, if elected, it would “immediately recognize the state of Palestine” and stop selling weapons to Israel.

Johnson’s Conservatives won 365 seats in the House of Commons, their best performance since party icon Margaret Thatcher’s last victory in 1987. Labour slumped to 203 seats, its worst showing since 1935. Its leader, Jeremy Corbyn, subsequently stated that he would resign the party leadership but declined to provide a timetable for his exit.

Jewish groups have accused Corbyn of allowing a massive rise in anti-Semitism within the ranks of his party, once considered the natural home of British Jewry. Thousands of cases of alleged hate speech against Jews have been recorded within Labour since 2015, when Corbyn was elected to lead the party.

Much of the fear of Corbyn was spurred by revelations about his past record that have emerged since he became Labour leader. These include him describing Hamas and Hezbollah as “friends”; defending an anti-Semitic mural in East London; and a seeming willingness to associate with alleged anti-Semites, terrorists, and Holocaust-deniers.

Both President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have congratulated Johnson on his victory, stating that it was a positive development for Israel-UK relations.

Boris Johnson’s judgment has been questioned over his appointment of a Defence Secretary who boasted to constituents that he had visited Iran more than any other MP and who helped block attempts last year to ban the Hezbollah terror group.

Labour Friends of Israel criticised Mr Johnson who “likes to present himself as a friend of Israel, but has appointed a Defence Secretary who appears anything but.” adding that Mr Wallace’s behaviour was “utterly shocking”.

https://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/boris-johnson-s-judgment-questioned-over-appointment-of-defence-secretary-who-resisted-full-hezbo-1.486976

That’s Ben Wallace, MP for Wyre and Preston, who’s views on Iran and the ME are well informed and entirely sensible.
