Connectivity & Relationality: Nora Bateson’s take on ecological response to unfolding crises Comments:2
Posted by DanielS on Wed, 06 Nov 2019 14:28 | # Although Nora does move ecological concerns to hint at the validity of paradigmatic conservatism as it would apply to the human ecology of Europeans, including White men, I believe that she over emphasizes the more female concerns of her father’s perspective on pervasive ecology - connectivity and relationality - to the detriment of what is now the more necessary masculine side of pervasive ecology, that is to say, “wise men see lines and therefore they draw them.” In defense of the utility of her perspective, however, the transgressing of lines might allow us to get beyond the falsely drawn dichotomy between the eminent legitimacy of pervasive ecology and the right wing reaction to ecology being used (probably by kosher spearheading) as a political assault on White people, while ignoring the liberal role played in ecological destruction. 3

Posted by Nora's Need on Wed, 11 Dec 2019 12:42 | # Nora Bateson herself appears to need White post modernity, as she seems to invariably (and naively) prescribe putting the resources of one’s tradition and inherited forms at risk to novel transformation, because some new, positive development might come about through the experiment.
