Good critique by Morgoth of this term “the Gammon” to dehumanize the working class.
But in response to Morgoth’s use of the term “left” as toadies of the neo-liberal, international corporatists…
Contrary to his understanding of “the left”, The White Left doesn’t divide nationalist classes against each other, it unites ethnonationalists as one class, the loyal nationalist union, against traitors to the nation - DanielS

As I understand it David Cameron was the original ” Gammon man”, or to be more precise “Gammon Robot” according to Caitlin Moran of the Times, who in 2010 wrote that the former PM was “a C-3PO made of ham” whose “resemblance to a slightly camp gammon robot is extraordinary”. Cameron could hardly be described as working class and I’m not sure that the current usage of “the Gammon” is intended to disparage the white working class. After all, the white working class tend to vote overwhelmingly for Labour and will be expected to put Obi-Wan Kenobi into No 10 at the next general election. It would hardly do to disparage them as a constituency. Isn’t the term aimed at white men of a certain age and political disposition, who may also have problems with their blood pressure?
Frankly, if one white male, who may well look like Prosciutto di Parma, tells another white male that he is a gammon steak, should it be treated seriously? should anyone be “triggered” by it? shouldn’t it be laughed off as banter? It’s not like when West Indians refer to white women as “pork” - something that is actually offensive.
It appears that the more right-wing someone is the more likely they are to be offended by “the Gammon”. I find this amusing, given that the far-right has a virtual lexicon of pejorative terms, liberally employed to describe others who are not like unto themselves. So, I don’t get it. Although it is teaching me what they mean by “white fragility”, so it’s not entirely wasted on me.
