One for red-heads

Posted by Guessedworker on Monday, 08 January 2007 01:05.

From a Times article reporting on research into red-hair in Britain for the Oxford-based People of the British Isles project:-

But why do we have such numbers in these parts of the British Isles today and not others? The answer, says Bodmer, is that red-hair genes were common among the first Britons and that populations in the archipelago’s fringes still carry their bloodline.

“Genes for red hair first appeared in human beings about 40,000 to 50,000 years ago,” agrees Rees.

These genes were then carried into the islands by the original settlers, men and women who “would have been relatively tall, with little body fat, athletic, fair-skinned and who would have had red hair”, says David Miles, of English Heritage.

Redheads therefore represent the land’s most ancient lineages. So if you want an image of how those first people appeared, don’t think of a hairy savage with a mane of thick black hair. Contemplate instead a picture of a slim, ginger-haired individual: Prince Harry, perhaps, or the actress Nicole Kidman who has Scottish and Irish descent.

Distinctiveness among native groups is the true diversity.  It is simply not the one the British government desires us to celebrate.

It is a trifle ironic that the oldest bloodlines in these isles will, being scattered to the peripheries, likely survive the alien genetic inflows ... again.  But all native British distinctiveness is valuable and an ethnic genetic interest in its own right.  We are under no obligation to dissolve ouselves in the bottomless seas of the Third World, and the true racism belongs to those who deny us, red-haired or not, our natural right to self-preservation.

The Amygdala War: Amygdala activity patterns differ between men and women

Posted by James Bowery on Sunday, 09 April 2006 08:21.

UC Irvine researchers Larry Cahill and Lisa Kirkpatrick have discovered a reliable difference in brain activity between men and women.  Basically the amygdala, the most sexually dimorphic brain structure—which shrinks 25% upon castration in men—also shows opposite activity in men and women.  In men the right amygdala is most active—in women the left amygdala is most active.  Moreover when the person is at rest, their amygdalas are active in both men and women but they communicate with different parts of the brain—not merely a right-left mirror between the sexes.

We must not speculate about the implications, let alone jump to any conclusions about this before the appropriate catechism has been given us by the feminist/gayness “theorists”.  Well, except for me because I’m so disobedient.  I think we’re getting much closer to detecting the means by which parasitic castration of relatively recessive populations may be occurring.

So it’s the singer and the song

Thanks to Michael R for the following genetic research news - news to me anyway.  From it we can extract a quick, concise and killing rejoinder to that illiterate anti-racist trope: “99.9% of our genes are shared with stink bugs.”

Gene expression sets humans apart

Researchers find factors that distinguish us from other primates

LONDON - How can humans and chimpanzees, who share about 99 percent of the same genes be so different?

Scientists in the United States and Australia say changes in the gene expression, not just genes, is a big part of what separates humans from their nearest relatives. Gene expression is the process by which genes are turned on or off. Not all of the estimated 30,000 genes in humans are activated at the same time in every cell.

“We think gene expression is a major part of what separates chimps and humans,” said Kevin White, an associate professor of genetics, ecology and evolution at Yale University.

The Bombshell on Cultural Determinism May Have Been a Nuke

Posted by James Bowery on Sunday, 08 January 2006 18:59.

First to get a bugaboo out of the way: Cultural determinism is the view that significant variation between human cultures is not significantly influenced by genetic differences.  It is a dogma of the present theocracy.  Second, the scientific bombshell that got dropped on that dogma just may turn out to be a nuke.  It discovered huge numbers of genes that have been under recent evolutionary pressure.  However, the method used cannot detect genes that have been under selective pressure for long enough that the selected genes have become fixed and this means many genes such as lactose tolerance that are as young as agriculture.

Pitchford’s List Sees Revised “Removing Lewontin’s Fallacy from Hamilton’s Rule”

Posted by James Bowery on Saturday, 26 November 2005 05:01.

My proposal, first posted here, for how to remove Lewontin’s Fallacy from Hamilton’s presentation of Price’s equations of group evolution, has been posted to Ian Pitchford’s Evolutionary Psychology Yahoo group.  This is significant because men like J. Phillipe Rushton, of Genetic Similarity Theory fame, and Henry Harpending of Ethnic Genetic Interests fame, are recent participants there.

Mass migration destroys humanity?

Posted by James Bowery on Saturday, 19 November 2005 16:40.

A key distinguishing feature of humanity is its communication ability.  But what exactly is communication as opposed to manipulation?  How does communication arise?  What are the conditions for its continuation?  There have been a number of attempts at simulating the evolution of communication but till the simulation described in this article was run, none of them combined migration, climatic variation and the prisoner’s dilemma.

The simulaton is schematic but suggestive that migration can eliminate the very genetic capacity for communication and replace it with pure manipulation.
