In The Return of Patriarchy Foreign Policy’s Phillip Longman opines:

Patriarchy does not simply mean that men rule. Indeed, it is a particular value system that not only requires men to marry but to marry a woman of proper station. It competes with many other male visions of the good life, and for that reason alone is prone to come in cycles. Yet before it degenerates, it is a cultural regime that serves to keep birthrates high among the affluent, while also maximizing parents’ investments in their children. No advanced civilization has yet learned how to endure without it.

And I would add that no advanced white civilization has yet endured for the simple reason that none has learned what makes Europeans fertile.

As I’ve often pointed out before, there are two big exceptions to the decline of total fertility rates among whites, exemplified in the United States by Utah and Alaska.  These two States correspond to the ancient dichotomy between socially imposed monogamy and ecologically imposed monogamy respectively.  Utah has socially imposed male authority (via Mormonism which posits a father as priest to his family) and Alaska has ecologically imposed male authority.  It is the latter that is the more natural for whites and it is why abandonment of the pursuit of frontiers, as occurred in 1972, is so destructive to white fertility.  By frontiers I’m referring to physical, not political, frontiers.  Although fighting wars can affect the operational sex ratio (unmated males/unmated females) in a way that enhances white fertility, it is a terminal euphoria, as shown by the post WW II baby boom generation.  The frontiers I’m talking about increase the carrying capacity of a territory as happened in Europe during the retreat of the glaciers, during the neolithic, or during the expansion of North American crop cover.  Although I’ve walked my talk for a long time now to open up space as a frontier, the wheels of the gods are now turning slowly in the right direction for the long journey there and it is time to pursue more immediate concerns.  That is what this series of messages on “Ocean Frontier Fertility” will be about.

A key distinguishing feature of humanity is its communication ability.  But what exactly is communication as opposed to manipulation?  How does communication arise?  What are the conditions for its continuation?  There have been a number of attempts at simulating the evolution of communication but till the simulation described in this article was run, none of them combined migration, climatic variation and the prisoner’s dilemma.

The simulaton is schematic but suggestive that migration can eliminate the very genetic capacity for communication and replace it with pure manipulation.

I was watching Tucker Carlson the other day, and he brought up this story that states that the most liberal city in America is Detroit, MI followed by Gary, IN, and Berkeley California.  The most Conservative city is Provo, UT followed by Lubbock and Abeline, TX.

The center that did the study did not tell their research methods, and the results make me question them.  I doubt that either Detroit or Gary are particularly liberal in the traditional sense.  There is not great interest in gay-rights, environmentalism, or anti-war activities.  Rather they are simply two of the blackest cities in the country, and so they vote the most democratic.

In fact the press release from the Bay Area Voting Research Center who did the study stated,

The list of America’s most liberal cities reads like a who’s who of prominent African American communities. Gary, Washington D.C., Newark, Flint, Cleveland, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Birmingham have long had prominent black populations. While most black voters have consistently supported Democrats since the 1960s, it is the white liberals that have slowly withered away over the decades, leaving African Americans as the sole standard bearers for the left.

“Italy faces the most serious demographic crisis of all the EU economies.  By 2050, according to the United Nations, more than a third of Italians will be 65 or over, roughly double the current proportion.  Increased longevity and the recent collapse in Italian fertility are the prime culprits.

Cherish those memories of Italy as a country of narcissistic young Lotharios, buxom mamas and multitudes of bambini.  The Italy of the future is an old folks’ home.”

Niall Ferguson, writing on Italy and the Euro in today’s Sunday Telegraph.

Some might consider the looming demographic disaster also to have been brought on by unfettered individualism, feminism and loss of faith, and that it somewhat outweighs in importance economism and the fate of the Euro.  Ferguson might also, in fairness to Italians, have noted with a little less complacency that Italy will be only the first of the nations of Europe to sink slowly beneath the Western horizon.  Unless proper feminine values are re-asserted in very short order (but how?) we shall all fade quietly away.

And those we import to care for us in our dotage shall have no complaints.

John Ray recently contributed an article which claimed that in 1981 only 35% of the Australian population were of British origin.

As I mentioned in the comments, I find such a statistic difficult to believe, simply on the basis of my own everyday observations. Furthermore, the statistic needs to be taken seriously because if it were true it would undermine the idea that Australia once had its own distinctive Anglo-Australian (or Anglo-Celtic Australian) identity.

So I googled. I came up with two excellent articles, both from the kind of official sources which I think would satisfy John’s request for citations.
