Soren interviewed Alex Linder a few days ago, and the result is now on the radio page.  Alex can make strong meat taste like boiled chicken, and a certain degree of editing was needed to calm my prissy English sensibilities.  And my fear of going to prison, of course.

The interview was aimed not at exploring the JQ but at exploring Alex.  The man is an energised, flowing speaker, and genuinely sees the JQ as the problem, if not the only problem.  That isn’t Soren’s view or anyone else’s at MR, and the views Alex expresses are, of course, wholly his own.

But if you listen hard, you will find that the humorous, harshly sarcastic ideologue of VNN is also courageous, honest and true.

James has recorded a second interview with Prof Fraser, now uploaded to the Radio page.  It is long (meaning highly informative): 92min 53 sec.  File size 85MB.

Soren has, as he promised, interviewed Constantin von Hoffmeister, and the file is uploaded to the Radio page.

The original announcement of the interview was received with protest from some MR regulars.  But the interview itself is a considerable success and, I think, cautions against too hasty a judgement.  I recommend it.  File size 42.4 MB.  Run time 1 hr 1 min 49 secs.

Just to keep you in the picture, the next show is likely to be Fraser II, conducted by James Bowery.  After that Geoff Beck is back.  Sort of.  I will be interviewing him.  But, happily, he will do the editing.

The audio project will go on line in the next few hours, all being well.  Soren and I have had to re-record our interview.  It’s not nearly as good as the original we did several weeks ago now, but shorter and more pertinent to the website (and some of the people involved in and around it).  To be honest, I was not that motivated second-time around.  Anyhow, the point is to get the project rolling.  Some well-known and significant names and, no doubt, all the regular MRers - including, I hope, some of our very fine commentariat - will be featured in the coming months and, one must hope, years.  Soren will be interviewing.  This is his baby, not mine - and I will take this opportunity to thank him for his tremendous enthusiasm and not inconsiderable courage.  Live or, more accurately, unscripted interviews are not easy.

There may be an issue with the sound frequency on the first interview, and it may afflict the streaming audio more than the mp3.  This is a trial run in which lessons are being learned, so please extend us a little goodwill at this stage.
