Science Daily reports that: “In addition to triggering a depression-like social withdrawal syndrome, repeated defeat by dominant animals leaves a mouse with an enduring “molecular scar” in its brain that could help to explain why depression is so difficult to cure”.  I suspect one of the reasons “boys will be boys” public school violence is so tolerated is the fact that to oppose it would be racist due to the racial differences in testosterone level, age of onset of pubescent muscle mass and general aggression level.  After all, those young white males are just getting their commupance for their ancestral guilt!  And gays are born—not made—too.  If you don’t believe me, just ask The Federal Government of the United States: “sexual pressure [in prisons—JAB] ushers, guides or shepherds the process of sexual awakening.”  And since black and hispanics rape white male prisoners more often than any other interracial assault category we might think of this as more social justice from the government’s institutions.  On the other hand, since the government is doing those “born gay” white males a favor by “awakening” their homosexual potential, perhaps the white males should be charged a therapy fee for their being “sexually pressured”.  As a matter of fact, young white school boys should probably pay for having their neurological development altered by black and hispanic thugs in their schools since this, too, is simply to “usher, guide or shepherd” their naturally submissive posture toward their racial superiors!

A British survey of 5000 teenage girls has found that most support traditional gender roles in which the husband is the provider.

The most interesting result was that nearly all the girls (97%) disagreed with the statement that ‘It doesn’t matter who is the main earner, as long as we are happy’. There is a whole generation of girls, it seems, who very definitely want their future husbands to be the main earners.

Britain’s politicians, though, do not want them to achieve this wish. Both major parties are determined to engineer society so that men do not earn more than women (even though men generally earn more by fair means, such as accepting positions which are well-paid and stable, but less creative and glamorous, or by working in dangerous or remote workplaces, or by accepting promotions involving more onerous responsibilities or longer working hours).

The hapless Conservative Party has announced that it will try to narrow the earnings gap between men and women by “combating traditional views of a mother’s role”. They are doing this as “part of an attempt to rid the Tories of their image as an old-fashioned party.”

So at a time when 97% of teenage girls want (eventually) to find a husband who earns more than them, the Tories think they are being up to date in their electoral appeal by seeking to provide these girls with men who earn the same or less.

Yes, Trevor Phillips, CRE chief and demoniser of black pudding eaters everywhere, is back to his best form once again.

He has had a very lean spell, even if he did bring it on himself.  You see, when you write-off your best bit of special pleading in years you are likely to confuse people somewhat.  Telling the entire country and its goldfish that a keeness to admit institutional racism was just a white “cop out” might have looked to Trev like proof of his high standards.  But to the accursed majority it just looked like there was no pleasing the man.  Sorry, The Man.  There probably isn’t, but never mind.

Then there was Trev’s theory about the failure of multiculturalism.  Now, I didn’t mind this one at all because multiculturalism is a failure for very sound sociobiological reasons.  But for some unaccountable reason few of Trev’s so solid brothers follow my line of reasoning.  Lee Jasper, a most unreasonably angry black vice-something in Livingstone’s Leninist London [finally, an “L3” comparable to Loony Labour Left], was especially scathing:-

In the real world, this onslaught translates into an approach that says: “Assimilate, accept the majority’s norms - because if you don’t, your failure to integrate, not racism, is the problem.” Counterposing integration to multiculturalism is bound to lead to castigation of black communities for supposed failings.

Supposed?  Failings?  What could he mean?

Completely unphased, Trev then experienced that Archimedian moment.  Not about anything difficult like arithmetic or geometry, of course.  No, this was about the low educational attainment of black yoofs (not to be confused with the low intellectual abilities of same).  But once again he was slaughtered in the bath, sorry press.  Or “well slortard” I suppose one should say in the required argot of Railton Road.

It wasn’t looking good.  Despite the neat suits, public pronouncement as a vehicle for self-promotion just wasn’t delivering the desired limmo-full of national praise.  Now, perhaps, the grizzly fate of his predecessor at the CRE, the bibulous Gurbux Singh, was beginning to make sense.

But the great thing about race relations is that there will always be another socialist-red bus along in a minute.  And sure enough, Trev has come up with a good one ... a legal assault no one will challenge on a victim no one will ever, ever defend:-

The chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality accused the Government yesterday of “deep institutional complacency” for failing to enforce its own laws to safeguard the rights of ethnic minorities.

Trevor Phillips, who has close links to Tony Blair and New Labour, said the CRE was poised to take legal action against several Whitehall departments over their alleged incompetence in upholding the law.

The Man is incorrigible.

I can’t tell you how much I hope this one never catches on here.

Speaking after the verdict Miss Baxter’s father Stephen said: “Katie was a lovely, happy girl with her whole life ahead of her.

“Zoe was not homeless. She had a home to go to but chose to associate with other people who led the homeless lifestyle.”

These are the closing paragraphs of a BBC News article reporting the sentencing of the killers of three Nottingham women.  It is not a pretty story, for sure.  But it is one anybody who has had dealings, however brief or tenuous, with the homeless - or rough sleepers - and with addicts can credit all too easily.  For these emiserated souls have crossed the moral Rubicon.  They need not be killers to have done so.  They need not be violent at all, though they will almost certainly know violence.

They cannot, however, be virtuous.  At least, they cannot afford the virtue of ordinary men.  They are “survivors”, and that is all they are.  What Zoe Pennick’s father called “the homeless lifestyle” is an absolute.  The pursuit of the next deal or the next drink rules over everything, is everything.  It so distorts the moral compass that the preservation of human love and friendship, where it obtains, is a miraculous thing.

As soon as news broke about the armed raid on the Securitas Depot in Tonbridge, Kent, my typical but evil, middle-aged mind read the runes.  The gang held the depot manager, his wife and their 8-year old son captive and got clean away with an unknown sum between £25 million and £50 million.  When Kent Police Assistant Chief Constable Adrian Leppard told reporters that the robbery was executed with military precision by a professional gang operating at the “top level” of organised crime, really, there was little room for doubt that the felons were of the eponymous East End type, ie white dinosaurs with sawn-off shotguns.

Ordinarily, when a major crime story hits the headlines we find the media uniformly too embarrassed to report the awful multicultural truth.  Witnesses, apparently, describe only “men”.  Plod stays as mum as possible.  Then a “man” is captured with his trousers down in a motel in Leicester, and hauled in for questioning.  The charge sheet is made out.  The name - damnit, yes the name - has to be released to the press, who must report it even if everything else about the accused remains an official secret.

After the “guilty” verdict, of course, there has to be the release of a mugshot.  The public discovers to its general amusement that Mkuti Nkibo or whoever isn’t the feckless son of a capstan lathe operator from Wigan and grandson of a lad who played in the Wanderer’s reserves between the wars.

With the Tonbridge raid, however, I thought we might get to play this game in reverse - starting with the felons’ ethnicity and working back towards their names.  Cautious type that I am (more cautious, for instance, than “Lurker” who has already pronounced here via a thread comment) I have held off posting.  But all of a sudden the media are chancers when it comes to crime, and the Telegraph’s Leo McKinstry has beaten me to it in splendid fashion.

The first young English girl of whose death in Thailand I became aware was Serena Booker, a book researcher and sister of journalist Christopher Booker.  She was murdered in 1982 while back-packing - then an uncommon but by no means unknown pursuit - in the north of the country.  I have a strong suspicion that no one was ever charged.

Down the years I have noted occasional rapes and murders of Westerners in the country, alongside the promotion of Thailand and other far-flung places as suitable destinations for adventurous students in their gap-years.  No doubt I am an over-protective parent, but something about this back-packing lark doesn’t sit well with me.  I am a businessman.  I know what business cares about and what it doesn’t.  A self-interested industry selling a product whose whole point is lack of structure to young people freed of   parental oversight, and who by definition are not schooled in human judgement, is likely to abuse the trust placed in it.  It is likely to deliver the lowest-quality service with which it can get away.

Quite apart from my suspicions as to the motivations and standards of the Thai gap-year industry, I also recoil from the One-Big-Happy-World assumptions that underpin its message to our young.  It is liberal and it is false.  The warm, wunnerful Thai people are chiefly warm ‘n wunnerful, I think, when money is being spent.  Their concerns do not extend per se to the care and protection of large, pallid-skinned, lazy, over-indulgent, immoral, drunken youths from far away.

That job, in the absence of all locum parentis, falls to the British Consulate.  So it was with some interest that I read this quite shocking piece on the BBC News site this evening

David Irving, an impoverished 68-year old British historian who disputes the official version of World War Two and, within that, the Jewish narrative known as the Holocaust, has been jailed today for 3 years by

the inquisition

a court in Austria.  His crime consisted in refutational remarks made in speeches to Austrian nationalist groups in 1989 in Vienna and the southern town of Leoben.

I do not believe in the Great 1960’s Narrative either.  I consider myself free to weigh the evidence as I have gathered and understood it, imperfectly or otherwise, and to believe what I will.  I consider myself free to speak to my fellow Man about this, as any, belief.  I consider that any racial or elite group that removes this basic right of free speech from me and threatens incarceration if I disobey to be fundamentally evil.

Am I wrong?  What is your opinion?

The Austrian prosecutor has reacted to Irving’s filing of an appeal by moving to appeal the sentence.

A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said it had lodged an appeal to have the sentence increased.

Michael Klackl, the state prosecutor, said Irving was a serial “falsifier of history” and had been cast as a martyr for free speech by neo-Nazis who would not grant such rights if they were in power.

A new hearing is not likely before the second half of 2006.

Irving expressed his unfashionable opinions in Vienna and Leoben three years before the legislation under which he has now been prosecuted was even on Austria’s statute books.  At the time, then, he was not committing a crime in Austria.  It’s grim enough that this legislation is so repressive ... worse that it is retrospective.  But that it is also apparently the Law of Schadenfreud, whereby the wretched Irving can be tormented at will post-trial, is alien to all civilised standards.

I have never much interested myself in Irving’s colourful career.  Certainly, I never considered him a sympathetic figure, much less a martyr.  But that is what he will increasingly become to many observers shocked, like me, by the cold power of the state that has been employed against him.
