[Majorityrights Central] On an image now lost: Part 2 Posted by Guessedworker on Saturday, 15 February 2025 14:21. I’m only doing a copy & paste job on this one. No thinking employed. Can’t bear to think about those poor lads who love the Navy and the sea and our country, and who have watched the shit-hearted PeeCee people fuck with it all for their sick ends. The Royal Navy is to place advertisements for recruits in the Pink Paper as part of a new campaign to recruit homosexual sailors. The move follows its decision to sign up to the Diversity Champions programme run by the equal rights charity Stonewall, the first time a branch of the armed forces has done so. Commander Tim Kingsbury, the Royal Navy’s diversity and equality policy officer, said the scheme would initially involve providing commanding naval officers with the necessary information to best understand and support homosexual staff. He said Navy top brass still “needed to understand better the needs of one group of personnel and to encourage them that they are part of the mainstream”. “Commanding officers have a key role to play in creating a culture in which gay and lesbian personnel feel confident that they work without being harassed or bullied because of their orientation,” Commander Kingsbury said. More here.
Derbyshire considers the causes of homosexuality in his recent piece for NRO. I’ve got an interview with Greg Cochran on the subject up on my blog.
One unforeseen and rather special consequence of starting this blog has been my re-acquaintance with the kindness of strangers. Of course, one knows perfectly well that goodwill and understanding are key to all in-group thinking. The least visible in-groups can be among the most imbued with such qualities and, God knows, a blog-based in-group, being by definition atomised, is pretty damned invisible. Still, I have one of our thoroughly atomised MR bloggers to thank for the kind and thoughtful gift of a subscription to Chronicles Magazine, the first copy of which – dated February 2005 – landed on the doormat this morning. It took me a good two minutes to sniff my way to page 34 and a piece under the Principalities & Powers header by Sam Francis, “Towards the Hard Right”.
We at Memorial-Spaulding are committed to the creation of a fully inclusive school in which each and every child succeeds and each is challenged. We believe we have the opportunity to create, in Claude Steele’s words, a “wise school,” a school that is rigorous and satisfying for all of our children and for all of us. We continue to work as our children’s village of support to create a school in which all of the adults - parents and teachers, secretary and principal, custodian and nurse, crossing guard and lunch mother, aide and psychologist - genuinely believe in all of our children, and actively work to see that “smart” comes in many shapes and forms, and resides within each and every human being. We know that the context for optimal learning is a school which has passion for children and for democracy, an intolerance for racism and for prejudice, a commitment to the creation of an anti-racist, prejudice-free learning environment, and a genuine desire to turn the concept of “just society” into reality. We hope to be that school. Ms Barbara Meyer, Principal, Memorial Spaulding Elementary School, Newton, MA - demonstrating why we have to win. Acknowledgements to the Birdman.
The original meaning of the word ‘liberty’ does not suggest at all ‘liberation’ - in a sense of emancipation from collectivity. Instead, it implies inheritance - which alone confers liberty. Alain de Benoist, Democracy Revisited: The Ancients and the Moderns We are not free men. How can we be? We do not have the freedom to own our natures, the most near and ineradicable of all our inheritances. Indeed freedom exists, we are told, only to the extent that we white, heterosexual males disdain this inheritance and take to ourselves something fictitious … something from which our oppressive whiteness, heterosexuality and maleness have been assiduously expunged. Well, notwithstanding the sheer, bloody racism of this demand, its central postulate of an absolute psychological plasticity under the general-ship of reason would undo our psychological health in very short order. Crude artifice, self-deception and the perpetual battle against Nature would generate only galloping individual and societal psychopathies.
Before one can solve a problem one has to know the true facts of the matter. It is striking how such torrents of people write ‘authoritatively’ about Islam when they have not bothered to study the facts about it – such as what, in unvarnished form, the Koran and Hadiths actually say rather than what they are said to say. Is Holocaust Denial really a crime? If it is, then how much greater a crime is the consistent pretending-away of thirteen centuries of unprovoked, bloody Islamic Jihad? A Jihad which is still continuing around the world, particularly in Indonesia and Sudan but extending to Holland, the US and of course, Madrid.
The Melbourne Age newspaper is on the warpath. It is a war against traditional, masculine fatherhood. In the past four days the Age has run three major articles calling for men to lay down their briefcases so that they might change more nappies. Why this special plea to men to do less paid work? As I outlined in some detail in my article on The Old Father, liberals don’t like the idea of traditional gender roles. Such roles are inherited, rather than being chosen by our own will and reason, and are therefore thought of by liberals as being an impediment to individual freedom. So liberals think it’s important that we throw off traditional fatherhood and motherhood roles. Instead there is to be one gender-neutral “parent” role, based on hands-on motherhood tasks. That’s why Sushi Das, in her Age article, asserts that,
This post is a rather roughly thrown together response to John’s interesting trawl through David Gelernter’s piece in The Weekly Standard, The Inventor of Modern Conservatism. There is no disputing that Gelernter is correct about Benjamin Disraeli’s status as an inventor, as are all the many historians and students of politics who have wiseacred to the same end. The issue is not one of historical accuracy nor even one, solely, of etymological accuracy. I am not claiming that Disraeli’s invention lies in the ascription of the word “Conservatism” to his new politic of the right in mid-Victorian England. I am claiming that he invented the historical precedents by which he could carry-over the terms and conventions of Conservatism into his own new Establishment. In so doing, he indeed became the first neoconservative. But in substance it was an act of anti-Conservatism and an act, as Martin Hutchinson emphasises in his truly exceptional and recently published opus Great Conservatives, of legerdemain.
