(CNN 14 Sept 2020) Eight people were arrested during protests in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Monday, a day after a Lancaster police officer shot and killed a 27-year-old man while responding to a call.

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, which is investigating the police shooting, said that officers responded on Sunday to a “reported domestic disturbance involving a person with a knife.”
Lancaster Police said in a news release that a 911 caller had reported that her brother was becoming aggressive with his mother and attempting to break into her house.
Body camera footage shows a family member at the door when the first officer arrives at the scene. The woman soon steps outside and a man, identified by authorities as Ricardo Munoz, runs out of the home toward the officer. The footage shows Munoz wielding a knife above his head, “in clear view, in a threatening manner,” the district attorney’s office said in a release.
The police officer fired several shots, ultimately killing Munoz. No one else was hit by gunfire, according to the district attorney’s office.
CNN has reached out to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office for comment.
The investigation by the district attorney’s office is ongoing. The police department also said it was looking into whether officers followed all training guidelines and policies properly, according to their news release.
“This has been a heartbreaking day for our city,” Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace said in a statement on Sunday. “I grieve for the loss of life and know that there are more questions to be answered as the investigation continues.”

NEW YORK — Over 600 Jewish organizations, representing the majority of American Jews, signed a letter in support of the Black Lives Matter movement that was published in a full-page New York Times ad on Friday.
“We support the Black-led movement in this country that is calling for accountability and transparency from the government and law enforcement. We know that freedom and safety for any of us depends on the freedom and safety of all of us,” reads the letter, which was published on page A17 of the print edition of The New York Times.
“As Jews, we know how dangerous this is: when politicians target Jewish people and blame us for problems, it leads directly to violence against us. When Black movements are undermined, it leads to more violence against Black people, including Black Jews,” the letter says.
The 627 groups that signed the letter included the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist denominational movements, which make up 35 percent, 18% and 1% of American Jewry, respectively, according to a 2013 Pew Research Center study.
The list also includes several Orthodox groups such as the Uri L’Tzedek social justice organization and Yaffed, an advocacy group that seeks to improve secular education in Hasidic schools.
The letter’s signatories include ardently Zionist, mainstream organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League and Jewish Federations of North America local chapters, along with several groups that support the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement, including Jewish Voice for Peace and Anti-Zionist Shabbat.
A group of Jewish activists penned the letter and first posted it on the publishing platform Medium on June 25, against the backdrop of nationwide protests that erupted following the police killing of George Floyd in late May.
It garnered the backing of over 400 organizations within its first 48 hours, according to Audrey Sasson, the executive director of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice.
“We were starting to see the far-right concoct conspiracy theories that Black Lives Matter was being manipulated by Globalists and Marxists in an anti-Semitic attempt to undermine the Black-led movement,” Sasson said. “This brought an opportunity to unequivocally state as a large swath of Jewish community organizations that we stand behind Black Lives Matter and that any attempt to divide that movement will not land.”
A decision was made to re-publish the missive as a New York Times ad on Friday to mark the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington, the 1963 mass-rally for the civil and economic rights of Black Americans.
Johns Hopkins begins process of establishing new diversity and inclusion goals
Roadmap 2020 Task Force will review university’s progress to date, develop recommendations that incorporate community feedback.
Hub staff report: Five years ago, Johns Hopkins University launched its Roadmap on Diversity and Inclusion in order to state its commitments in those areas explicitly and in concrete terms. Now the institution is preparing to assess numerous programs and activities across its divisions and develop a set of recommendations for the next five years.
In a message to the university community today, JHU President Ronald J. Daniels and Provost Sunil Kumar wrote, “this work is foundational to our community, and it has taken on ever-greater urgency in these past few months as the nation continues to grapple with the impact of systemic racism and the brutal reality of violence against Black and brown Americans.”
They acknowledged the “profound anger and sadness” in the community as the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, became “yet another chapter in a devastating summer of recurring police violence that has unleashed protests across the nation.” They added, “It is clear that the anti-racist, equity-seeking, and inclusive values we espouse must continue to guide our capacity to support our community and our efforts to achieve concrete and tangible change in our institution.”
The Roadmap 2020 Task Force, announced in July along with several other initiatives, will lead the process of reviewing the Roadmap and setting new goals. Students, faculty, and staff from across university divisions as well as members of the Baltimore community have agreed to serve on the task force; the full roster is on the Diversity and Inclusion website. Three co-chairs—Katrina Caldwell, vice provost and chief diversity officer; Ashley Llorens, chair of the Johns Hopkins Diversity Leadership Council; and Patricia Davidson, dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing—will guide the process, which will include convening theme-based working groups to gather knowledge and surface ideas in a way that promotes broad transparency, includes all voices, and provides opportunities to shape the final recommendations to leadership.
“For the task force to succeed, it must draw upon the perspectives and experiences of a wide-ranging representation of stakeholders from across our institution, including faculty, staff, and students, as well as the broader Baltimore community,” Daniels and Kumar said in their message. “We were fortunate to have had significant interest from many people at all levels of our institution.”
The task force will commence its work with a retreat, co-sponsored by the Diversity Leadership Council, on Sept. 10 and continue throughout the year. University leadership has asked the task force to produce preliminary recommendations this spring to be shared with the JHU community for input. The final report, which will incorporate community feedback, will be shared with leadership by June with the recommendations shared with the board of trustees for consideration and endorsement. The final report will be released to the community in fall 2021.
The group plans to hold two leadership town halls, one on Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. to kick off the process and one in early 2021 to discuss preliminary recommendations, as well as a series of listening sessions focused on strategic priorities beginning in October and continuing through early 2021. There will be an open comment period before the full report is finalized, and individuals are invited to share ideas, feedback, and insights at any time through a feedback form on the Diversity and Inclusion website.
While the task force is starting its work, the university is releasing its third Roadmap progress report recounting diversity and inclusion efforts across the institution. This regular sharing of data and stories “embodies our belief that systemic change demands an articulation of values accompanied by a clear action plan and the willingness to shine a light on both our accomplishments and the areas in which we have fallen short,” Daniels and Kumar said.

- A $1.8 billion gift from Michael Bloomberg in 2018 boosted the university’s existing upward trajectory in the diversity of the incoming class with the percentage of underrepresented racial minorities (URM) increasing from 14.9% to 32.5% between 2010 and 2019, and the percentage of students eligible for Pell grants increasing from 11.1% to 19.1% in that time
- The HopkinsLocal economic inclusion initiative has driven substantial investments in the Baltimore community by focusing on local and minority-owned businesses and city residents when Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health System build, hire, and buy
- The loss of university leaders in two key areas—the Office of Institutional Equity and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion—was a setback to the pace and consistency of the university’s work last year. However, nationwide searches yielded strong candidates for both positions, both of whom joined Hopkins this summer—Caldwell as JHU’s second vice provost and chief diversity officer and Shanon Shumpert as vice provost for Institutional Equity.

Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, is the introduction of a controversial bill to downgrade certain statutory rape cases not involving heterosexual sex–or vaginal penetration–if the act was deemed consensual. The new legislation would allow a judge to decide whether a potential sex offender who committed statutory rape against a minor who is less than 10 years younger than them must register as a sex offender. Democrat Assemblyman Lorena Gonzalez initially blocked the proposal, saying, “No sex between a 24 and 14 year old is consensual.”
In addition to the controversial bill proposed by Sen. Wiener and his involvement behind downgrading HIV transmission from a felony to a misdemeanor; last year, the California Senator strived to allow illegal immigrants to run for Democratic Party seats.
Wikipedia: Wiener was born to a Jewish family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania… In 2017, Wiener originated three bills centered around HIV and LGBT issues. He co-authored Senate Bill 239, which lowered the penalty of exposing someone to HIV without their knowledge and consent from a felony to a misdemeanor. The California Senator who was behind the move to downgrade of the intentional transmission of HIV from a felony to a misdemeanor now is now spearheading new legislation that would allow a judge to decide whether a potential sex offender who committed statutory rape against a minor who is less than 10 years younger than them must register as a sex offender.
The controversial bill introduced by Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, served to downgrade certain statutory rape cases not involving heterosexual sex–or vaginal penetration–if the act was deemed consensual. This law would allow judges to use their own discretion when determining whether, for example, a 24-year-old who statutorily raped a 15-year-old, must register as a sex offender.

Currently, while consensual sex between 15- to 17-year-olds and a partner within 10 years of age is illegal, vaginal intercourse between the two does not require an offender to register as a sex offender. Other forms of intercourse such as oral and anal intercourse require sex offender registration.
That practice, according to Wiener, disproportionately targets young LGBT people, who usually cannot engage in vaginal intercourse.
Senate Bill 145 would put an end to “blatant discrimination against young LGBT people engaged in consensual activity,” Wiener said in a statement.

Portland Police are looking for a man who reportedly beat the driver of a pickup truck following a series of incidents in downtown Portland on Sunday night.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau has identified the chief suspect in an assault in the downtown area on Sunday that left the driver of a crashed pickup truck unconscious, according to an update from the agency.
Officers from PPB responded shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night to the area of SW Taylor Street and Broadway in downtown Portland after someone reported that “protesters” chased the driver of a white Ford 4x4, then dragged him out of the vehicle after he crashed into a tree on the sidewalk. One witness reported that a group of people was “beating the guy.”
At the scene, the officers found a man lying injured and unconscious. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released.
“Other reports around social media claim that the victim in this case is not recovering or has succumbed to the injuries,” PPB said. “These reports are false. The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering.”
While videos depicting various parts of the incident have surfaced on social media, investigators are still trying to piece together precisely what happened in the lead-up to the attack. However, PPB says that it has identified the main suspect in the assault as 25-year-old Marquise Love — the man apparently seen on video punching and kicking the victim.
“Investigators made attempts to contact Love but could not locate him,” PPB said. “Investigators have left messages for Love to turn himself in but will continue to look for him as there is probable cause for his arrest.”
Police are also looking for a transgender woman who “had some of her things stolen,” an incident seen on some of the videos, which may have led to the later assault. PPB said that she has not yet been identified, but investigators are hoping to speak with her.
PPB said that the release of further information in the case “may not be as timely” as the public would like. Despite the spread of videos on social media, the agency said that investigators need to make other connections that aren’t seen in the videos — in addition to protecting the integrity of evidence in the case.
“The Portland Police Bureau is taking this assault and other incidents of violence extremely seriously,” said Chief Lovell. “Our Detectives continue to investigate this assault as well as other acts of violence directed toward protesters, but we need more than just videos from social media. In order to hold individuals responsible for criminal acts, we need the public to provide information and refrain from tampering with evidence.”
August 9th is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People – and as we are the indigenous people of these islands, we thought it would be a great time to celebrate!
On July 4th a group of 70 patriots went walking in the Peak District and displayed a 10-metre-long banner that simply read ‘WHITE LIVES MATTER’. You can read about the day.
Since that event, the pictures have gone viral and many liberals have had screaming tantrums and public meltdowns.
On August 9th we thought we would repeat the exercise on a much larger scale and use the publicity to get #WhiteLivesMatter trending on social networks.
The day was a roaring success! Hundreds of patriots gathered at various locations in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to carry out banner reveals, stick up posters and hand out leaflets.
We even had people take part in America, New Zealand, Austria and Denmark! Our activism was picked up by a number of local news outlets, bringing a spike of registrations to the Patriotic Alternative website.
Thank you to everybody who took part on the day.

Who are the British?
To be British is to be one of the various ethnic groups of the United Kingdom, namely: the English, the Scottish, the Welsh, the Northern Irish, the Cornish and the Orcadians (the indigenous inhabitants of the Orkney Islands, Scotland).
What are the differences between the various British ethnicities?
Although the ethnic groups of Britain are overwhelmingly NW European, there are slight differences in the ancestry of each group. For example, the Scottish will have more Viking ancestry, while the English will have more Anglo Saxon ancestry, and the Welsh will have more Celtic ancestry. The important thing to remember is that all of these groups came from the same region, therefore, despite our differences, we are very similar to each other (especially when compared to a non-British ethnicity).
Objection: Only the Welsh, who are Celtic, are indigenous to Britain.
False. All the groups mentioned above are indigenous to Britain. The English, for example, are around 60% Celtic and 40% Anglo Saxon (two groups who originated from the same place). A common argument that you will hear is that, as the English have Anglo Saxon heritage as well as Celtic, they are not native. This is the equivalent of having some red paint on a paint palette, and then adding some more red paint and saying it has changed colour. Coincidentally, the Māori (who are the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand) arrived in New Zealand around 700 years ago. The Anglo Saxons invaded Britain around 1500 years ago. Nobody ever argues that the Māori aren’t indigenous, but they will argue that the English aren’t.
Objection: Britain has always been a nation of immigrants.
False. There is a difference between settlers (those who arrived somewhere first and established their own nation), invaders (those who invade a nation by force) and immigrants (those who are welcomed to a nation by its government) – although we don’t mind if you want to compare modern-day immigration to an invasion. Britain has never experienced anything like the modern-day, mass immigration we experience today.
Mass immigration started to Britain in 1948, yet it was really amplified from 1997 onwards when Tony Blair became Prime Minister under a Labour government. Before 1948, Britain was overwhelmingly ethnically British. Sure, there were small amounts of immigrants here and there (you may read about the odd Black skeleton being dug up), but their numbers were insignificant when compared to Britain’s overall population size. It is also worth noting that any invasion that Britain previously faced was an invasion by other Europeans (I.E., people who were very similar to us).
Objection: The English are a mongrel race.
False. People will usually cite various waves of invasion to Britain in order to suggest that the English are a “mongrel race” made up of the Celts, Romans, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Normans, etc. As discussed above, the English are a Celto-Germanic ethnic group. Not every invasion that Britain faced had an impact on our gene pool. The Romans for example, despite being in Britain for around 400 years, operated as a ruling class and had next-to-no impact on our genetics. As also discussed above, all of these groups are other Europeans anyway so it would hardly constitute a “mongrel race” even if it were true. The British far right is becoming more openly racist in the wake of a backlash against international Black Lives Matter protests, experts have warned.
A report by Hope Not Hate, seen exclusively by The Independent before its release, said that years of dominance by Tommy Robinson and other figures focused on Muslims was giving way to rising white nationalism.
It found that the growth of the new Patriotic Alternative group, which openly calls for non-whites to be ejected from the UK, suggests a “shift towards more openly racial politics”.
Author Simon Murdoch said far-right activists were becoming “much more extreme ideologically”.
He said the increase in migrant boat crossings over the English Channel and anger over so-called “cancel culture” had an impact.
“The biggest backlash has been to the Black Lives Matter movement,” the researcher added. “There is more willingness to discuss race generally across the far right now.”

Mr Murdoch said that dominant groups and activists in the British far right, such as Robinson, have focused on Islam in recent years and left overt racism to the “extreme fascists” like banned terrorist group National Action.
“There’s this move from people previously focused on other topics like Islam, and alongside that is a contingent of the young British far right who have been embracing more extreme and traditionally fascist, white nationalist and antisemitic ideas,” Mr Murdoch said.
He warned that the younger group are active in online networks that have greater reach than the “old guard” of National Front and British National Party (BNP) supporters.
Patriotic Alternative was formed last year by the BNP’s former director of publicity, Mark Collett, and has been attracting activists from across the far-right spectrum.
Its growth has sparked concerns it may unite competing factions from the fractured extreme right-wing scene in Britain.
Last weekend, it held publicity stunts displaying “white lives matter” banners across the UK to to tie in with the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, and leaders are planning a third national conference in September.
On its website, Patriotic Alternative claims that “native British” people are being eradicated and proposes extreme measures to protect “the indigenous peoples of the United Kingdom”.
It says it would call a “complete halt” to immigration and pay people “of immigrant descent … to return to their ancestral homelands”.
Patriotic Alternative claims that children are being exposed to pro-LGBT and anti-white “propaganda” and advocates home-schooling using its own package of hateful material on “history and culture”.

Mr Murdoch said the group had attracted support from figures previously active in neo-Nazi groups, but also those with backgrounds in “more moderate” movements.
He warned that Patriotic Alternative was “trying to give the friendliest possible face to extremely fascist ideas” by using veiled terminology.
But Hope Not Hate’s report found that private online chats between members were “awash with extreme racism, Holocaust denial and open veneration of fascism”.
It said Patriotic Alternative had “antisemitism at its core” and played into conspiracy theories claiming Jews are orchestrating the “replacement” of white Britons.
One post by a supporter seen by The Independent reads: “British people are white. They aren’t brown, black, Asian or Jew.”
Hope Not Hate also found Patriotic Alternative had links with the UK-based Hundred Handers group, which incites people to spread racist stickers around the world with slogans including “Western civilisation is white civilisation” and “Stop immigration, start repatriation”.
Mr Murdoch said it appeared to be capitalising on a “sense of rootlessness” in the British far right during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Black Lives Matter, the anti-government elements of coronavirus and the economic downturn are grist to the mill for them but they’ve lacked a sense of direction,” he added.
“Despite grossly exaggerating their size and influence, Patriotic Alternative could be the group that unites the fractured, ageing UK far right, injecting it with young activists.
“They could present a real threat given their extreme views.”
